Chapter 80 - Taiyi's death

After the Peace Goddess left, Taiyi wiped away the tears on his face and then tightly held his sword with one hand.

Although his cultivation was crippled, Taiyi could use a formation to gain his former powers temporarily—just enough to get rid of these old fogies—after which he would also die. Without his cultivation, Taiyi was a mortal, which meant that his body could not hold that much power. If not for his dragon bloodline, he would already be dead.

"Peacefully come with us," the old man said as he stared at Taiyi.

Taiyi's bloodline was something they would like to have, which was why they were willing to take action after Elliot failed.

"Where are the other eight? What? Are they so scared of me that they do not even dare to step into my realm?" Taiyi asked in a scornful tone.

The old man stared at Taiyi with a smile on his face.

"Kid, come peacefully with me or I swear, you will not like it if I am annoyed," the old man said.

"Oh! I see. Those eight pests were afraid of coming here, so they sent you to test the waters. Wrong move," Taiyi said as he directly transformed into his draconic form and attacked the old man.

The old man wanted to defend, but unfortunately, he couldn't. He tried to mobilize his strength to deal with Taiyi, but he found that his cultivation was suppressed. He couldn't defend against that strike.

When the other eight saw the old man struggling desperately, some of them decided to retreat, but they couldn't—something stopped them. They stared at each other and saw the fear in each other's eyes. They mustered their courage and decided to save the old man. If they were united, they could at least offer an explanation to that person, so they had to save him.

Hence, another round of battle ensued. And in this battle, although Taiyi tried his best, he was still exhausted after killing four of the nine.

Though Taiyi wanted to kill more before his death, he had already reached his limit. His body was in a terrible shape and could no longer bear the power of the formation.

Taiyi stared at the five people that were desperately trying to escape and sighed. He was already a spent lamp, but he was unwilling to let them go.

Since they had orchestrated his death, he would make sure to take them all with him—and if he couldn't, then he would ensure they never left this place.

He stared at the skies with a frustrated expression, but his eyes shone with determination.

> "Heavenly Dao, as the Sovereign of the Myriad Diversified World, I hereby give up my body as a sacrifice and my cultivation in exchange for sealing them—and for sealing the Myriad Diversified World—so that no one can enter it until someone worthy enough appears and is willing to bear the consequences of unsealing this world."

As soon as these words left his mouth, a formation lit up beneath him—only this formation was different.

As it glowed, Taiyi slowly disintegrated until his presence completely disappeared.

The Five Realms, because Heaven was sealed, along with the Eight Deserts and Three Seas, mourned the death of Taiyi. But they all knew that his sacrifice was necessary.

On that day, they felt that something important had been lost—and from then on, all the gods disappeared.

Meanwhile, in a place far away, Bai Lingbo was trying his best to stop Song Tie Ling from going back to the Heavenly Realm so she could look for her father.

Bai Lingbo had tears in his eyes as he stared at Tie Ling, whose entire world had changed within just a few years. In that short time, she had lost both her parents in a devastating war—and she couldn't even avenge them.

After calming down in Bai Lingbo's arms, she fainted.

Meanwhile, in a world far away, on this very day, many life lamps were suddenly extinguished. To make matters worse, the life lamps belonged to their ancestors.

The most ancient families of this world lost their foundations and their strength, as their founding fathers suddenly passed away.

A meeting was immediately held by the patriarchs to decide upon their next approach.

"Has anyone found out what happened to the ancestors?" one of the patriarchs asked.

This world was ruled by nine ancient clans: the Huo, Lin, Zhao, Han, Ye, Su, Chu, Dong, and Long.

The world was located on a higher plane, different from the plane in which the Myriad Diversified World existed.

For so many years, the families had ruled the upper plane, and no one had ever questioned their rule—until a few years ago, when their ancestors left to complete a mission given to them by the Emissary of the Heavenly Dao.

They knew that their ancestors had gone to the lower realm, but they never expected them to die in such a place. After all, they were supreme powerhouses.

The Realm of Supremacy was divided into four levels: Supreme God, Supreme Celestial, Supreme Powerhouse, and Supreme Primordial. After that followed the Divine Realm.

In the lower plane, the God Realm was the limit. In the middle plane, the Supreme Realm was the limit.

And in the higher plane, the Emperor Realm was the limit—but it was a realm that very few people could reach. A clan would be happy to have even a Quasi-Emperor.

This was the reason the nine clans ruled the upper plane—because each of them had a hidden Emperor or a Quasi-Emperor.

As the patriarchs were in the middle of their discussion, a woman appeared in the sky above their base and issued a challenge to their Emperors.

If Taiyi had been present, he would have definitely recognized the woman as the Peace Goddess.

"Peace, are you so tired of living?" a young man with golden hair appeared out of thin air and said.

"Who else, if not the annoying lizard?" the Peace Goddess replied with scorn.

If Feng Jiu had been there, she would definitely have said something like:

> "I now understand where Taiyi got his sharp tongue from."

The face of the golden-haired young man darkened when he heard how the Peace Goddess referred to him.

The golden-haired man was a dragon—but not a pure-breed—which was the main reason why the Peace Goddess always viewed him with contempt.

He hated it when she called him a lizard—it struck a nerve. Unfortunately, ever since she had appeared, he had been unable to defeat her.

"Peace, what do you want?" the golden-haired young man asked.

Staring at his youthful face, no one would have thought he was an Emperor.

"You annoying little creatures dared to touch my son," the Peace Goddess said.
