The Gemstone Dragons were equally aware of the generosity described by their companions, as they were all shocked. After taking a look at the gemstones, none of the Gemstone Dragons dared to accept them.
Because just a single gemstone was worth more than all four of their total wealth combined, and now they each held three, they were far too overwhelming to casually take.
The Dragon Clan might not have a concept like 'no merit, no reward,' but they did have a similar belief. Accepting a large gift of assets from a dragon elder without reason made it hard for a dragon to be at ease.
Even if this elder was a direct relative of their mate, the same applied. The Dragon Clan always clearly divided assets, with parents, siblings, children all well separated, with no confusion.
