"Everson, there's a bit of troubling news," the intelligence officer on the other end of the phone said.
"Damn it, you're disturbing my sleep in the dead of night. If this isn't an important message, I'll fire you tomorrow," Everson said angrily. He rubbed his bloodshot eyes - he had stayed up late enough the previous night, and now, just two hours later, he was rudely awakened. How could he not be irritated?
"Oh no, you can't fire me; this is very important news," the person on the line hurriedly interjected.
"Then spit it out," Everson said urgently.
