When she turned around, she saw Daniel standing by the window, speaking on the phone. His brow was tightly furrowed, and his tone was urgent. Chantelle only caught a vague part: "Alright. Don't let her move around. I'll be right there."
After hanging up, Daniel walked over to her and said, "I have something to attend to. I need to go out for a while."
Chantelle didn't respond. Daniel gave her a deep look before leaving.
Once he left the research site, Daniel drove north. His destination was far, and it would take four hours to get there.
