Chantelle already knew that. Philip, Russell, and Alexander wouldn't be spending all their time in the lab if things weren't that serious.
"Let's forget about the past for now and just spend whatever time we have left in peace. Is that okay?"
"Well, how do we do that?" Chantelle asked, raising her brows.
"We'll just treat each other like friends. We'll do what feels right and let things happen naturally."
Chantelle could feel the sincerity in Daniel's voice and see it in his eyes.
If they only had a few days left to live, why waste them playing mind games? Why not forget everything else and simply enjoy the time they had together?
"Okay," Chantelle said with a smile.
Her response brought a smile to Daniel's face, too.
That afternoon, Daniel and Chantelle stepped out of the room. They looked the same as usual, but everyone could sense something different between them.
"Mommy, are you okay?" Kane and Stephanie ran up to Chantelle and hugged her tightly.
