Daniel had only meant to tease her and ease the tension between them, but he simply could not resist her. Watching her lie there, almost half naked, was its own kind of sweet torture.
"Don't move. I'll leave once I've applied the medicine. If you keep moving, I might start thinking you actually want…" Daniel's voice was low and husky, thick with desire.
"No, I don't want anything from you! Just put on the medicine! And don't say another word!" Chantelle retorted. She quickly stopped resisting, buried her face in the pillow, and chose to stay silent. She knew Daniel would never let another male doctor treat her wound. He would insist on doing it himself.
Daniel was surprisingly silent. He didn't say a word as he dipped his finger into the ointment and gently rubbed it onto her wound in slow circles.
Every time his fingers touched her skin, a sharp shiver ran down her spine. When he brushed over her funny bone, the ticklish sensation almost made her burst out laughing.
