Chantelle and Daniel exchanged a look. This matter didn't seem as simple as they first thought.
Ruby was acting like a dog following a scent. She wasn't here to accuse her. She wanted answers.
"Sweetheart, look at me. You can't leave me alone. I'm your father." Roman tried to move closer to Chantelle to show his injuries again, but Daniel kicked him away once more.
"Enough. We'll find you a shaman." Chantelle headed out with Roman following behind her. She felt safe walking beside Daniel.
But the moment she walked outside, a flower pot dropped from above. If Daniel hadn't pulled her back, it would have hit her on the head.
Daniel had her in his arms. She was stunned for a moment before quickly dragging him back into the living room.
"Are you okay?" She pulled off his coat and shirt and let out a breath of relief when she saw only a small bruise where the pot had hit him.
