Stephanie leaned closer to Chantelle and whispered in her ear, "Daddy's jealous. He said you're his wife. Only he can hug and kiss you. Anyone else who does it is harassing you."
Daniel immediately focused on his daughter. She wasn't being subtle with her whispering at all.
"Stop glaring so much, Daddy. Your eyes are going to fall out." Stephanie clicked her tongue in disgust.
Daniel didn't care. Chantelle looked like she was about to lecture him, lifting her chin as if daring him to accuse her of doing something wrong.
"What are you telling our daughter? Are you saying I can't even have basic interaction with my children?" She wasn't glaring back, but her attitude wasn't any softer.
She had a look on her face that practically said, "How did someone like you end up with such a big share of the family fortune?"
