At first, Daniel thought Chantelle had misunderstood and believed he felt deep sympathy for Victoria. Chantelle did not ask because she wanted to respect his reputation. After hearing her reply, Daniel was left stunned.
"Do you realize that Victoria was behind the scenes when things happened to the children back in Carcosa?" Chantelle couldn't help reminding him.
Daniel nodded. "I'm already relieved that you're not angry with me over this."
He had been worried that Chantelle would break up with him because of it. After all, he knew how important their children were to her.
"Do you really think I'm that petty?" Chantelle snorted.
Daniel complained silently in his heart. If you're not petty, why would I have worried for months? I'm afraid you'll be jealous, but I'm also afraid you won't be jealous at all.
"Why don't you ask what the Nelsen brothers had said?" Chantelle raised an eyebrow and looked at Daniel with a sly expression.
