Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

 ENTANGLEMENT

She gently opened one eye, her lashes fluttering as the world came into focus. The first thing she saw was a face,an almost unreal face. He was striking. Not in a glossy-magazine kind of way, but in a rugged, captivating sense that held your gaze and didn't let go. His skin was sun-kissed, sharp cheekbones anchoring a face framed by a neatly trimmed mustache and a full, well-groomed beard. But it was his eyes that held her still—piercing blue irises that seemed to study her soul, calm yet intense.

"Hi, I'm Julian Saint," he said, voice warm and grounding, still holding her by the waist as their eyes locked.

It took a beat for her brain to catch up. She was in his arms.

"I'm...I'm sorry," she stammered, gently pulling herself upright, brushing invisible dust off her satin dress.

He chuckled softly, a dimple showing in his left cheek.

"Is that your name?"

"No, I mean, I'm Alex. Alexandra Thompson," she replied, trying to regain composure as she fixed her dress.

"Nice name," he said, his smile lingering.

"Were you heading to meet someone? Or is fate giving me a rare opportunity to introduce myself properly?"

His words, light and playful, sent a strange shiver down her spine. It wasn't just the words, but the way he said them. Calm. Confident. Certain.

"I'm meeting someone. Thank you, though," she said, trying to shut down the moment gently, though her voice betrayed a slight tremble.

Julian nodded, undeterred. "Then maybe fate can still work with that." He tilted his phone toward her.

"Can I have your number? Just in case it gets another idea."

She hesitated, then sighed and took the phone from him. She typed in her number quickly and returned it without another word, barely holding his gaze.

She didn't even glance back as she walked away, cheeks burning with embarrassment. She reached her friend Mia and sat down beside her, muttering something unintelligible.

Mia raised a brow, smirking. "Girl, what in the world was that? You walked in like a movie scene, slipping and falling straight into Prince Charming's arms."

Alex rolled her eyes.

"I don't even know. One minute I'm walking, next thing I'm cradled like a damsel in distress."

"Well, you played the part well," Mia teased. Then her expression shifted.

"What would Billy say if he saw that?"

The name hit Alex like a stone. Her smile vanished. She dropped her eyes to the menu, lips suddenly too tight.

Mia frowned. "What's wrong?"

"We broke up," Alex said quietly.

"He chose someone else... and his family backed him. They never saw me as enough."

"Oh my God, Lexa. I'm so sorry. I didn't know."

"It's fine," she said, flipping through the menu. "I've been through worse. Now, can we just order something strong, talk about nonsense, and pretend like life isn't falling apart?"

And so, they did. Surrounded by soft lighting and the hum of low music, the two friends laughed, vented, and slowly began to reconnect. For a while, Alex forgot about the sting in her chest and the uncertainty ahead.

Later that night, she walked up the steps to her apartment, heels clicking quietly against concrete. Just as she pulled out her keys, her purse vibrated. She fished out her phone and it was an unknown number.

Curious, she answered.

"Hello?"

"Alexandra?" came a deep, familiar voice.

She bit her bottom lip hard.

"Julian Saint," she said, her voice low and measured.

"I thought you might recognize me. You looked incredible tonight. I haven't stopped thinking about you."

Her heart fluttered despite herself.

"Thank you."

"I was wondering… Would you like to go out now? Just a walk, or maybe a drink? If you're free, that is."

"Tonight?" she asked, laughing softly.

"Unless you're too busy, I can reschedule. Or pick you up—whichever makes it easier."

She paused, a dozen reasons to say no crowding her mind. But then again, maybe one impulsive choice was exactly what she needed.

"…Let's do that, then."

"Perfect. Just tell me where to meet you."

She changed into something more casual but elegant,a navy blouse tucked into high-waisted jeans, a cropped leather jacket over her shoulders. As she stepped outside, Julian was already waiting in a sleek black sedan. He stepped out and opened the door for her, giving her a genuine smile.

"You clean up nice," he teased.

"I wasn't trying to impress," she replied, sliding into the seat.

"Too bad. You still did."

They drove in comfortable silence, eventually arriving at a private luxury lounge she hadn't seen before. When they walked in, the hostess immediately led them to an exclusive suite. Julian had clearly made reservations.

Her eyes widened at the room—it wasn't overdone, but it was exquisite. Cream and gold interiors, warm lighting, velvet seating, and soft jazz music playing in the background. She walked to the balcony, letting the night breeze hit her face.

From behind, Julian's voice was soft. "Lexi? Can we talk?"

She turned and walked back in. He was sitting on the bed, his expression unreadable.

She sat beside him, curious. "What's up?"

He faced her directly. "Look, I'm not trying to complicate your life. I know we just met. But there's something about you that I can't explain it. I feel drawn to you, and… I want to share something real with you, even if it's just for tonight."

Alex didn't speak. She stared at him, searching for insincerity but found none. Just desire… and something else she couldn't name.

When he leaned in, she didn't stop him.

The kiss was slow at first—exploratory. But it deepened quickly, as if both had been holding in too much for too long. She felt the warmth of his hand at her waist, his lips moving in sync with hers, and for the first time in weeks, she felt wanted.

When they finally pulled away, breathless, he rested his forehead against hers. "Tell me to stop if this isn't what you want."

But she didn't say a word.

She stared at him continuously, seeing the desire in his eyes. He only needed an approval to make a move but his body shivered from lack of patience. He drew closer to her and his alluring look made her speechless. He held her by her chin, and brushed his nose on hers. She could feel the hot breath that came out throw her nose and mouth. He gave her a first kiss and set her lips free from his but she couldn't bear losing such a moment. She held him by his shirt collar and drew him closer to herself, introducing the intense kiss and romance. As they kissed titling their heads left and right, he held her by her waist and caressed her boobs.

He carried her from the edge of the bed with his muscular arms and dropped her slowly, making her to relax. He continued kissing and caressing her while she unbuttoned his shirts one after another making way for a skin to skin touch. He pulled off his shirts when he noticed it's no longer held to any buttons. He threw them away from the bed and continued with the kissing while he gently pulls her dress from the top. She would make a slight gasp whenever he breathed hot on her neck.

He pulled off her dress and she was left with just panties and brasserie. The room was already filled with an erotic atmosphere.

He unhooked her bra in order to get access to her nipples. As he suckled on it, she moaned. He suckled and caressed her body, extending his fingers down to her pubic regions. As he put his finger in her vagina, she gasped heavily. He stroked her vagina in and out with his fingers leaving her to drool from desire. He pulled off her panties and massage her vagina a little.
