Lin Dong finished speaking without giving Lin Zheng a chance to respond and had a Lin Family disciple carry a large box in front of the Elder Council. These Elders are the backbone of the Lin Family, each with the right to vote and to be voted for. Each of their votes could very well decide the future of the family. However, today, none of them hesitated; it was clear they had already made up their minds.
Seeing Lin Dong act with such urgency, Lin Zheng was angry inwardly but did not throw a tantrum on the spot. That would only make them a laughingstock to outsiders.
Someone immediately took out all the election ballots from the wooden box and began reading the names on them.
There were eight people in the Elder Council, and each could only vote for one person.
