Evening self-study.
Jiang Nian still didn't get to eat, and was starving by the first period of evening self-study, so he randomly ate a small desk-mate brand bread.
"Hua, what did you eat this afternoon?"
Upon hearing this, Li Hua gave a cheeky laugh.
"Sweet and sour ribs, fried fish fillets, stir-fried duck... Tomorrow's Qingming Festival, I'll eat even better when I go back home."
Jiang Nian felt hungry just listening and sighed.
"I really envy you."
"Of course." Li Hua boasted, placing one hand on his hip, "Tomorrow I'll send you a picture."
"What's there to see about paper offerings?"
"Chi Shi!!" Li Hua was speechless, "I'm talking about food. The paper offerings are just a side thing."
"Oh." Jiang Nian remained noncommittal.
He's likely to be busy tomorrow, and his parents won't be home. Hoping for great food, he definitely couldn't count on it.
However, what you lose on the swings you gain on the roundabouts.
