Chapter 2 - 2. The Blessing

When Eddie was teleported to Pallet Town in the Kanto Region.

The system prompts kept ringing in his ears.

"Ding! The player is detected to have the blessing of the beast, and you have obtained the Power of the Viridian."

"Ding! The player is detected to have the blessing of the world, and you have obtained the favor of the world."

"Ding! The Pokémon world is welcoming you, and you have entered the game 'Pokémon Generation Alpha.'"

Eddie: "What???"

Standing in Pallet Town, Eddie was confused.

"The blessing of the beast? The blessing of the world? The Pokémon world welcomes me?"

Eddie didn't understand what was going on. He had never dealt with the beast in his previous life, so why did the Pokémon world welcome him?

"Could this be the reason for my rebirth?"

He thought doubtfully. Could his crossing be related to the beast and the world?

"Forget it; it's useless to think so much. It's not a bad thing anyway."

Eddie simply ignored these things he didn't understand, as long as he could become stronger.

He clicked on his character's attributes, intending to see what those two things were.

Although he roughly knew what the Power of the Viridian was, this was a game, and he didn't know what it would become.

Skills (Hidden)

Power of the Viridian:

Can talk to and understand feelings of any Pokémon

Can heal Pokémon's injuries (no cooldown)

Can temporarily increase the level of Pokémon in battle (+20), and return to normal after the battle.

(PS: Temporary upgrade will not evolve, cooldown time: 24 hours)

World's Favor:

The favor of the world's natives towards you increases. The favor of the mythical beast towards you increases. Your luck in the game increases significantly.

"Hiss~~~"

After reading the information on these two skills, Eddie took a sharp breath.

First of all, this "Power of the Viridian"—no cooldown for healing Pokémon's injuries?

Can he fight again to get a temporary burst of +20 levels?

Does this mean he can level up crazily in the wild without worrying about Pokémon's injuries?

Then, Pokémon suddenly soared 20 levels in battle—who could withstand this?

When the two sides are evenly matched, and the opponent may even suppress Eddie's Pokémon, there is a sudden burst. The 20-level gap can blow up the opponent, even if it is a reverse restraint.

Next is the "World's Favor." This game increases the favorability of the residents and the beasts towards you. It seems to be a useless passive.

But Eddie knew that in this world, you could get many benefits by getting along well with the natives.

For example, some hidden tasks can only be accepted by the natives with a certain favorability.

Moreover, the higher the favorability, the more task encouragement you get.

In addition, if you don't have enough favorability with important people, you can't even participate in the plot tasks.

This is the aspect of the natives. The increase in the favorability of the beasts is the real big deal.

The mythical beasts in this world are extremely strong. Only the top players in the later stages can defeat them, but they cannot be caught even if they win.

Even if you use the Master Ball, it is useless to catch them. Once you release them, they will run away.

But there is one player who has managed to subdue a mythical beast. He is the only one in the world to have done so.

How was he able to subdue it? The favorability between him and the mythical beast reached the maximum level, and the mythical beast voluntarily chose to follow him.

Thus, the favorability of a mythical beast is the most crucial factor in subduing them!

"With this skill, I'll gain much better task encouragement, and I might even subdue a mythical beast in the future!"

The "favor of the world" skill was incredibly valuable to Eddie.

And as for the last benefit—greatly increased luck—it was something that could change everything.

Eddie couldn't help but feel a mix of envy and excitement as he thought about it.

"When I go to catch rare Pokémon, this skill will help me encounter and catch them.

When I face difficult situations, it will help me overcome them.

And when I face a strong enemy, it might even cause them to slip up during battle and lose to me!"

The thought filled Eddie with happiness.

"Time to head to Professor Oak's Laboratory, get my Starter Pokémon, and start leveling up!"

When Eddie arrived at Professor Oak's Laboratory, he found it packed with people.

"There are so many people, but that's expected. Nearly one billion people are participating in this game. Luckily, the game world is much larger than I remember, making it possible for everyone to play together."

Eddie shook his head, walking to the door to join the line. Someone would eventually hand him his Starter Pokémon.

"Hello, what's your name?"

As Eddie approached, a researcher greeted him.

"...Morning Sun," he replied, about to join the queue. Though he wasn't sure why the researcher approached him, skipping the line would save him time.

Upon hearing the name, the researcher smiled enthusiastically.

"You're Morning Sun! Come with me—Professor Oak has been waiting for you!"

Eddie: "???"

Wait a minute. This wasn't how things were supposed to go!

He distinctly remembered that in his previous life, players waited in line, and a researcher would eventually emerge from the laboratory, handing out Pokémon and Pokédexes to the players.

No one was allowed to enter Professor Oak's Laboratory, especially in the early stages of the game.

Why was he being taken in directly? And why had Professor Oak been waiting for him?

Confused, Eddie followed the researcher inside. Behind him, the other players stood stunned.

"Why does he get to skip the line? And he gets taken inside?"

"No way! How is that even possible?"

"Are you kidding? I just tried to sneak in earlier and got booted out!"

"Maybe he completed some hidden task, and now he's being treated like royalty."

Eddie, oblivious to the players gossiping outside, was led deeper into the laboratory, his confusion growing.

Before long, he was brought before Professor Oak himself.

"Are you Morning Sun? My name is Samuel Oak, but you can call me Professor Oak. This is your Starter Pokémon and Pokédex. Please, accept them," Professor Oak said warmly.

He handed Eddie a Pokédex and a Poké Ball.

On the Poké Ball, there was a small label with the name: Charmander.
