"Oh no! Mega Venusaur! Stop using Sunny Day immediately!"

Erika was horrified when she spotted the incoming attack and immediately commanded Mega Venusaur to cease its weather-changing move.

In her strategic calculations, regardless of where Mega Charizard X had been hiding, Eddie should not have acted so aggressively at this particular moment.

This was because Sunny Day would also benefit Mega Charizard X's Fire-type attacks, so interrupting Mega Venusaur's use of the move would provide no tactical advantage to Eddie's Pokemon.

Even if Mega Charizard X did launch an assault at this time, Erika had expected it would be a long-range Fire-type attack launched from a safe distance.

For such ranged attacks, Erika felt completely confident in her defensive capabilities. She had multiple strategies available to counter whatever long-distance Fire moves Eddie might use.

That was exactly why Erika had been so decisive about having Mega Venusaur use a move like Sunny Day, even though it would also strengthen Mega Charizard X's Fire-type attacks.

However, she had never anticipated that Eddie's Mega Charizard X would know a powerful physical move like Flare Blitz!

In all her strategic planning, Erika had assumed Mega Charizard X's moveset consisted entirely of long-range Fire-type attacks. The sudden appearance of Flare Blitz completely disrupted her tactical expectations.

This move was not only incredibly powerful and fast, but more importantly, even though she had managed to stop Mega Venusaur from using Sunny Day in time, her Pokemon had already completed the weather change.

Under the intensified sunlight now blazing across the battlefield, the power of Mega Charizard X's Flare Blitz was significantly enhanced. Meanwhile, Mega Venusaur still had not reacted to the attack coming from behind its position.

"A normal Charizard should learn this move when it reaches Elite level," Erika mused with resignation. "I didn't expect that Eddie's Charizard would already know it at this stage. I made another crucial miscalculation."

Erika seemed to have already foreseen the outcome and let out a defeated sigh.

Actually, her overall prediction had been correct, but she had completely misjudged Charizard's available moveset. If Charizard didn't know Flare Blitz, Eddie might very well have fallen into her carefully laid tactical trap.

However, there were no "what-ifs" in the world of Pokemon battles. Eddie's Charizard did indeed know Flare Blitz, and that changed everything.

While it would be impossible to defeat Mega Venusaur with just one Flare Blitz attack, despite the move's considerable base power and the significant boosts it received from Tough Claws ability, the held item, and Sunny Day's effects, the situation was still dire.

Mega Venusaur's Thick Fat ability provided resistance against Fire-type attacks, so even though this move was tremendously powerful, it could only deal substantial damage rather than achieving a one-hit knockout.

However, Erika understood that Eddie's assault would not end with just a single attack. Just like in their previous exchanges, Eddie would continue attacking in waves once he seized an opportunity. He would not stop his offensive until his opponent was completely defeated.

Her prediction proved absolutely correct. Mega Charizard X's Flare Blitz struck Mega Venusaur with tremendous force, sending the massive Pokemon's body sliding back a considerable distance across the battlefield. Although Mega Venusaur was seriously injured by the attack, it managed to remain standing and conscious.

Mega Charizard X did not retreat after its successful strike. Instead, it positioned itself for another immediate attack.

"Even so, I will never surrender! And I still have a chance to turn this defeat into victory! Mega Venusaur, use Solar Beam!"

Erika knew that the situation looked desperate, but she refused to simply watch Mega Venusaur fall without putting up a fierce resistance.

She could accept defeat if it came through honest competition, but she would never sit passively and allow her opponent to attack without mounting a counteroffensive!

As for why she chose not to use Synthesis to recover Mega Venusaur's health, it was because Erika didn't believe Eddie would simply stand by and watch her Pokemon heal itself back to fighting condition.

In this critical situation, as Erika had declared earlier, offense truly was the best defense. By directly counterattacking Mega Charizard X, there might still be a glimmer of hope for victory!

Mega Venusaur seemed to sense Erika's unwavering fighting spirit. Even though it was seriously injured, the Seed Pokemon still roared with determination and prepared to attack Mega Charizard X with a devastating Solar Beam!

Thanks to the Sunny Day weather condition, Mega Venusaur did not need to spend a turn charging energy to use Solar Beam. The move could be fired instantly with maximum power. Additionally, the presence of Grassy Terrain, combined with the earlier Growth enhancement, had elevated its Special Attack to truly terrifying levels.

Therefore, the power of Mega Venusaur's Solar Beam would be nearly comparable to the Flare Blitz that Mega Charizard X had just used.

If Mega Charizard X attempted to use another Flare Blitz attack, it might not be able to break through Solar Beam's assault and successfully defeat Mega Venusaur.

Furthermore, Grassy Terrain would gradually restore Mega Venusaur's stamina over time. If Mega Venusaur was not defeated immediately, then all of Eddie's tactical maneuvers up to this point would be rendered meaningless.

"But I anticipated this exact situation long ago!"

"Mega Charizard X! Change your form and then use Blast Burn to end this battle!"

Eddie once again extended his bracelet embedded with the Key Stone, and this time the bracelet began radiating brilliant light once more!

At that very moment, Mega Venusaur's Solar Beam was fully charged and ready to fire, streaking rapidly toward Mega Charizard X.

However, Mega Charizard X was now emitting a dazzling transformation light. Before Solar Beam could reach its target, the Dragon Pokemon began changing directly on the battlefield.

It transformed from Mega Charizard X into Mega Charizard Y right before everyone's eyes!

"What?! That's impossible!"

Erika's beautiful eyes widened in complete shock and disbelief. She had previously assumed that Mega Charizard X was simply Charizard's standard Mega Evolution form. She had never imagined that Charizard possessed a second Mega Evolution form, and that these two forms could actually be switched between during active battle!

Who could have possibly anticipated such an incredible ability?!

However, Erika's amazement did not affect the ongoing battle. Mega Charizard Y remained completely calm when facing the incoming Solar Beam attack, opening its mouth to unleash Blast Burn in response.

True to the move's name, an explosion of incredibly intense flames erupted from Mega Charizard Y's mouth. The flame temperature was so extreme that both Erika and Eddie could feel the heat from their positions on the command platforms, causing them to break into nervous sweats.

This clearly demonstrated just how scorching hot and devastatingly powerful this ultimate Fire-type move truly was!

Mega Charizard Y's Special Attack capability was significantly superior to Mega Charizard X's physical prowess, which was exactly why Eddie had chosen to change forms at this crucial moment.

In order to ensure a complete and decisive victory over Mega Venusaur, Eddie had not hesitated to reveal his Charizard's extraordinary ability to transform between Mega Evolution forms during battle.

Fortunately, Erika was someone he trusted completely, so exposing this secret ability wouldn't cause any problems for him in the future.

At this climactic moment, although Mega Charizard Y's Blast Burn was initiated after Solar Beam had already been fired, it completely and overwhelmingly suppressed the Grass-type attack with raw power.

The clash resembled the legendary energy beam struggles from famous battles, where one fighter's attack, despite starting later, would surge forward with such tremendous force that it completely overwhelmed the opponent's assault and delivered a decisive victory.

Of course, Mega Charizard Y would naturally not seriously harm Mega Venusaur beyond what was necessary for victory. Not only was Blast Burn's power controlled appropriately, but Pokemon possessed remarkable resilience and vitality.

Although Mega Venusaur was overwhelmed by Blast Burn's incredible power and reverted from its Mega Evolution back to its normal Venusaur form during the process, it was not critically injured. The Seed Pokemon simply collapsed from exhaustion and the accumulated damage from their intense battle.
