"The power of Moltres is far stronger than I imagined. Thank goodness I didn't stay and continue fighting it. That's not something an ordinary person can handle at all."
Eddie felt immensely grateful that he'd had the foresight to leave the battlefield early and come here to search for Mewtwo.
However, facing an attack like that now would leave him in terrible condition.
(Blaine: Eddie!! Come back quickly! This woman has lost her mind!!)
Of course, Eddie was relieved he'd left when he did, but Rapidash was extremely worried about its Trainer, Blaine. Otherwise, it wouldn't have run over here so urgently just moments ago.
"Rapidash, since you've already brought me here safely, if you're worried about Blaine, you can head back now and help him."
Eddie looked at Rapidash's anxious expression and spoke to it gently.
After all, he'd reached his destination and knew what needed to be done next. If Rapidash was this anxious, then it should return to rescue Blaine.
Although, Eddie suspected that since it couldn't fly, going back might not accomplish much.
Rapidash paused for a moment, then nodded in understanding. But first, it trotted to the laboratory door and looked up at the camera mounted above.
The camera swiveled, apparently scanning Rapidash. Then a green light flashed, and the laboratory door opened automatically.
"Well, well... voice recognition security. Impressive."
Eddie raised his eyebrows and spoke with genuine surprise.
Rapidash saw that the laboratory door had opened successfully. It whinnied softly at Eddie, indicating that its mission was complete. Then it turned around and galloped back along the same path it had come.
"You really do care about your Trainer. Never mind that now—I need to hurry as well. Blaine might be in serious danger."
After Eddie considered the situation, he rushed into Blaine's laboratory.
Although the laboratory was quite spacious, he could immediately spot the Mewtwo he'd been searching for.
After all, even in its partially awakened state, it still radiated a powerful aura that was impossible to ignore.
[You... have arrived...]
At that moment, Mewtwo's clear voice appeared in Eddie's mind once more.
Obviously, Mewtwo had noticed Eddie's arrival and awakened from its slumber.
Unlike the previous time when it was forced to wake up due to sensing danger, this time Mewtwo seemed to be fully awakening because of Eddie's direct contact with it.
Originally, the moment Eddie saw Mewtwo, he'd braced himself to endure the same pain as before.
However, nothing happened. His right arm merely tingled slightly. Apart from that, there were no abnormal reactions in his body like last time.
[Don't be surprised. The power within you can heal the incomplete genes inside me.]
[The power that can heal any abnormality in a Pokémon—this has already healed the cells in your body that are connected to mine.]
Mewtwo's speech was no longer fragmented, which indicated that it was nearly fully awakened.
[Now, Eddie, I need your help, and you need mine as well.]
[I carry your genes, and you carry mine, so we share a bond similar to family.]
[Come, use that power to heal me completely, and then... let's fight together!]
At that moment, Mewtwo's body, still submerged in the nutrient solution, continued emitting a dark purple energy—the manifestation of its Psychic power being released.
"You have remarkable learning abilities. It seems that while Blaine was enhancing you, he also provided you with extensive human knowledge."
Eddie wasn't intimidated by Mewtwo's external Psychic energy. He walked toward it step by step. He knew that Mewtwo wouldn't harm him.
After all, as Mewtwo had said, they both carried each other's genes, and this connection was like kinship, transcending the typical relationship between a Trainer and their Pokémon.
Moreover, Blaine appeared to have uploaded substantial knowledge into Mewtwo during its development period. Otherwise, it wouldn't understand concepts like family and comrades upon first awakening.
[Blaine did provide me with extensive knowledge about the human world, but he didn't tell me how to interpret it. He simply let me judge for myself who qualifies as friend and who qualifies as foe.]
[I have determined that Team Rocket, who attempted to use me as merely a tool or weapon, are enemies. Meanwhile, you and Blaine each risked your own safety for my sake and went out to face formidable opponents.]
[Furthermore, you and I share a bond akin to kinship, and you possess that miraculous power. From you, I sense only the warm feeling called kindness.]
Mewtwo said this and fell silent. Even though it had just been born, it could still distinguish between enemy and friend after absorbing so much knowledge.
"Well then, I don't need to say anything more. Get ready, Mewtwo. Receive the full strength of my Power of Viridian!"
Eddie listened to Mewtwo's explanation, then glanced at the relationship status between them which read 'live and die together,' finally confirming that Mewtwo truly understood what comradeship meant.
So he extended both hands, just as he'd done when treating Eevee in Celadon City, and mobilized all his strength to channel the Power of Viridian to heal Mewtwo.
At that moment, his entire body radiated a warm, gentle light that completely enveloped both Mewtwo and himself. The light continuously transformed into luminous particles that entered their bodies, healing the incomplete and defective genes within Mewtwo's cells.
[Ah, I can feel this warm energy...]
[My body is continuously recovering... or rather, evolving...]
Mewtwo's eyes opened slightly at this point, and its external Psychic power grew increasingly stronger.
However, it maintained excellent control over its Psychic abilities. Not only did it avoid harming Eddie, who was treating it, but it also prevented any damage to the various equipment in Blaine's laboratory.
Nevertheless, Mewtwo was vastly different from Eevee. The former was significantly more powerful than the latter, and its genetic defects were far more severe than anything Eevee had experienced.
Eddie had been treating it with his full strength for nearly twenty minutes now, yet Mewtwo still didn't appear to be completely healed.
"Ugh! It's still not enough. I've been channeling this power for so long now."
By this point, Eddie was gasping for breath. Using the Power of Viridian truly consumed tremendous amounts of physical energy.
But he couldn't stop now. Blaine was still outside waiting for him to provide backup. He had to heal Mewtwo quickly.
Meanwhile, Blaine, who was battling Sabrina outside, was now so severely wounded that he'd collapsed onto his Charizard's back.
"Cough! Moltres, you truly are a Legendary Pokémon. Is this where I meet my end?"
Blaine coughed up several mouthfuls of blood, and his body was unable to move. Now he had to rely entirely on Charizard to keep him airborne.
However, even Charizard was about to fall from the sky. Eddie's Garchomp and Charizard had already reverted from their Mega Evolution states and followed along with heavily injured bodies.
Of course, the same was true for Rapidash, which had just returned to provide support. At this moment, it had already lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground.
"Blaine! Should I commend you as a Fire-type specialist? You managed to hold out this long against Moltres."
"But that's all you can do. Without sufficient strength to battle a Legendary Pokémon, ordinary Pokémon simply cannot compete with divine beasts!"
"Now, in the flames of Moltres, die with the regret of betraying our Team Rocket!"
Sabrina crossed her arms over her chest, standing behind Moltres while looking down at Blaine, who was about to fall. She announced Blaine's death sentence with a cruel smile.
"Moltres! Deliver the final blow...!"
Just as Sabrina was about to command the finishing strike against Blaine, Blaine closed his eyes and prepared to face death with dignity.
"BOOM!!!!"
In the distance, a column of purple energy erupted into the sky, immediately capturing the attention of both Sabrina and Blaine.
"That is...!"
"It's here! Mewtwo, hahahaha!! Finally!"
Sabrina's expression turned to panic as she stared at the figure radiating a terrifying aura—one no less powerful than Moltres itself, or perhaps even surpassing it.
Blaine laughed heartily despite his injuries. He knew that salvation had finally arrived.
