"What the—!? What's going on with those six Pokémon!? They're way too strong!"
Fang, who had been commanding his Blaziken and Lairon in battle, was completely thrown off by the sudden appearance of six new Pokémon. In an instant, Water Pulse from the opposing Vaporeon blasted both of his Pokémon away. Blaziken barely managed to stay on its feet, while Lairon was completely knocked out.
The same scene repeated across the battlefield. Kim's Togekiss was struck by Thunder, its body turning black as it crashed to the ground.
On Delia's side, things weren't much better—after being heavily bombarded, only Dragonair and Riolu could still fight. The other three had all collapsed. Lapras was still conscious but clearly unable to continue battling.
The attack from these six newly arrived Pokémon had been devastating—but most of the damage had been absorbed by Delia and her two companions.
Because of their efforts, the trainers and Pokémon behind them managed to avoid the worst of it. Even so, most of those Pokémon had terror in their eyes after witnessing the overwhelming power of their opponents, and they began retreating in fear.
"Return, Lairon!"
"Return, everyone!"
"Return, Togekiss! Come out, Noctowl!"
As several red beams flashed, Delia and her companions recalled their fallen Pokémon. Kim sent out her Noctowl to replace Togekiss, and then the three of them turned their attention toward the entrance of the temple platform—waiting silently for the one who had issued those commands to appear.
Clack… clack… clack…
Footsteps echoed sharply through the air. The defeated Hunter Group members quickly stepped aside respectfully, forming a path. Two men in black special uniforms strode forward, stopping beside the six Pokémon.
One was a middle-aged man. He knelt down, gently stroking the three Eeveelutions at his feet, a faintly mocking smile curling his lips. Then he turned toward the other man and said coldly,
"Aoi, this is your first mission since becoming one of the Big Three. The boss made it clear—this job must be completed. We can't afford to disappoint him."
The man called Aoi stood stiffly beside him, his expression dark and stormy. After a low snort through his nose, he stepped forward, his eyes sweeping across the platform. The chilling look in his gaze made everyone uneasy before he finally spoke in an emotionless, hollow tone.
"Our goal is simple—none of you are leaving here. You're basically all the remaining trainers on these islands. If we let you go, you'd only cause unnecessary trouble. I hate trouble… and I don't like wasting effort. So, cooperate—stay right here. Once this operation is over, you'll all be free to go."
His voice was calm, yet every word carried oppressive weight.
But Kim wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"You're underestimating us! Sure, you look strong—but don't think that gives you the right to do whatever you want!"
Delia quickly joined in, glaring fiercely.
"That's right! We're not afraid of you!"
Fang didn't speak, but his silent gesture said everything—two PokeBalls now rested firmly in his hands, ready for battle.
"Hmph… troublesome pests." Aoi's expression didn't change, but his tone turned venomous. "Tojo, I've said what needed to be said. I think it's better if we just capture them all now. Don't you agree?"
The middle-aged man, Tojo, rose slowly, his expression dark and sinister. Without a word, he raised his left hand and waved it forward.
At that signal, the remaining poacher members charged toward the trainers with their Pokémon—
But before they could even take a few steps, several brilliant golden beams of Hyper Beam streaked down from the sky, striking the ground in front of them. A massive explosion followed, blasting the entire group off their feet and sending them screaming off the edge of the platform!
"Hmm!? Who dares interfere with us now!?"
Tojo's face twisted in rage, his already grim expression turning murderous. He glared upward toward the dark sky, where several black shapes had appeared.
Those black dots quickly descended—and as they neared, everyone could see what they were: a flock of Fearow, dozens strong! The birds screeched loudly as they dove, and three of them carried mysterious masked figures on their backs.
Then, three heavily altered voices echoed dramatically from above—
"Well, since you've asked so sincerely…"
"We'll happily oblige!"
~ To prevent the world from devastation!
~ To unite all people within our nation!
~ To denounce the evils of truth and love!
~ To extend our reach to the stars above!
~ Dragon (Ryu)! Iron Fist! Ice Blossom!
~ Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!
~ Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
~ That's right! ×3
As the final line echoed, the Fearow came to a halt just above the platform, revealing the three masked figures in full view.
Judging by their builds, they were two men and one woman—each wearing distinct masks that completely obscured their faces.
"Huh…? Those voices sound… kind of familiar."
Delia frowned, staring at the trio. She could swear she'd heard those voices somewhere before, but she just couldn't place where.
"Hey! You Team Rocket scum have some nerve! You think you can just barge onto our turf and cause chaos? Johto isn't a place where your kind can do whatever you want! If you know what's good for you, crawl back to Kanto where you belong!"
Tojo's fury boiled over the moment he realized who they were—Team Rocket, his organization's sworn enemies. But even in anger, he held back, choosing not to attack immediately.
However, the man standing in the center of the trio—the one who'd called himself "Dragon"—snapped his cloak aside and shouted furiously,
"Hmph! Johto is my homeland! And seeing a bunch of trash like you defiling it fills me with shame! You seemed quite arrogant just now—so let's see what you've got! Fearow, use Hyper Beam again!"
The air filled with motion. Besides the three Fearow carrying the masked trio, thirteen more circled around them. At Dragon's command, all thirteen opened their beaks simultaneously.
In the blink of an eye, thirteen blazing Hyper Beams shot downward from different angles, bombarding the platform below!
The Fearow had clearly undergone rigorous training—their aim patterns appeared chaotic, but together they completely sealed off every possible escape route. Those caught in the attack had no choice but to face it head-on.
Or… maybe not.
"Alakazam! Teleport!"
"Alakazam!!"
The moment before impact, Aoi's Alakazam clanged its two spoons together, and a pink light engulfed Aoi, Tojo, and their six Pokémon. In the blink of an eye—they vanished from the spot and reappeared in the viewing stands on the side of the temple platform!
