"Damn, I actually pulled the Xeelee Nightfighter!"
Li Ang stared at the perfectly rolled Level 11 draw in shock and delight—he never expected to get something from the Xeelee universe.
Xeelee is an extremely niche sci-fi setting, but virtually every artifact that appears there is of creation-level, law-level, or universal-constant strength—absolutely top-tier.
> "I might finally have a shot at entering the top-tier ranked matches!"
The more Li Ang examined the Xeelee Nightfighter, the more thrilled he became. This thing was every bit as powerful as the Devastator or the Einstein Equator.
The so-called "Xeelee Nightfighter" is actually part of the body of a being known as a Xeelee—a powerful baryonic lifeform.
These entities were born within a Planck time of the Big Bang and are composed of spacetime, Bose-Einstein condensates, and conventional baryons.
In other words, the Xeelee are essentially the primordial gods of their universe.
The Nightfighter, being a fragment of a Xeelee, is pitch black—absorbing all light with zero reflection—and shaped like a sycamore seed.
Its wings are composed of spacetime defects, capable of stretching from hundreds of meters to millions of kilometers in length.
It maintains stability via cosmic string loops and can exchange momentum with the structure of the universe itself.
That means the Nightfighter doesn't require any fuel for propulsion—the entire universe is its inexhaustible power bank.
Because of this, its acceleration is unimaginably high—between 10¹² and 10¹³ meters per second².
It can reach near-light speed from a standstill in under 100 microseconds—one moment it's on Earth, the next it's on Mars.
This level of speed and agility utterly outclasses the sophons from the Three-Body Universe.
What's more, the Nightfighter's hull is made from a self-repairing Bose-Einstein condensate, making it virtually indestructible.
Even if thrown into the core of a neutron star or a pulsar, it would remain completely unharmed—only a singularity might pose a threat.
The so-called "Water Drop" weapon, feared by the Trisolarans, would shatter first in a head-on collision.
> "With this, I can finally explore the unknown reaches of the universe—even higher-dimensional space!"
Just as that thought crossed Li Ang's mind, additional details about the Nightfighter appeared in its description.
Thanks to its maximum velocity of 10,000 light-years per second, it can traverse higher-dimensional realms, chain-jump through space-time, and even construct closed time-like curves.
Put simply, its speed transcends the limitations of our physical universe. It is, quite literally, divine.
It can outrun time itself, constantly relaying future information back to its current self.
With it, the entire structure of the universe would become transparent before Li Ang's eyes.
He would be able to pinpoint the number of powerful alien civilizations, gauge the true scale of the cosmos, and even glimpse what lies beyond—a multiverse of "bubbles," each one a different universe.
He might even unlock the ultimate truth, break the fourth wall, and see everything for what it truly is.
That said, Li Ang didn't hold out much hope for that last bit. After all, any item obtainable through a draw was unlikely to grant instant victory.
His current strategy was still focused on unifying the universe, accelerating resource collection, and completing the Aether Phase Engine to reveal the final truth.
> "This thing really is a stat monster—insane durability and speed. It's practically a god-tier planet buster!"
Li Ang was overjoyed to finally obtain a truly practical law-level weapon.
Just imagine—an object millions of kilometers long, even at a modest 0.0001 light-years per second, could smash through any star like tissue paper.
The photon strikes from the Singer civilization in Three-Body would be like pea shooters compared to the Nightfighter.
Even with layers of force fields, the Trisolaran fleet would be helpless—those defenses might as well be made of paper.
Simply put, the Xeelee Nightfighter is now the top-tier weapon in Universal Megacorp 's arsenal—even the Devastator would have to take a step back!
> "Perfect."
Satisfied, Li Ang decided to deploy the Nightfighter as a recon unit first, to map the edge of the main universe and survey various star systems and civilizations.
Then he would begin investigating the other multiverse realms, one by one.
During this process, the Nightfighter might startle some unknown eldritch-tier civilizations, but Li Ang didn't care. He had long since moved beyond fear.
The legacy of the Forerunners from the Halo universe, the corpses of two gods from Transformers—they were all in Li Ang's possession now.
Through one brutal battle after another, Li Ang had gained the power to make gods bleed.
Even if he couldn't win, he could always deploy the Einstein Equator to trigger vacuum decay and go down with the enemy—then hide out in the Birch World of another universe.
If the current universe becomes too hostile, he'll just open a Stargate and escape to another one. Catch him if you can!
Pushing aside those scattered thoughts, Li Ang turned his attention to the other multiverse items. The Nightfighter's deployment would depend on the situation.
He just hoped some of the other draws wouldn't be a total waste.
> "Lucien's Call, the Sondheim rifle… just throwaway trinkets."
Li Ang shook his head slightly in disappointment. At this stage, Universal Megacorp had already transitioned to using hard-light weaponry, and standard rifles were only used in very specific situations.
These two firearms offered little to no value.
> "The Titan-class Orobas from EVE… well, at least it's somewhat useful, but not by much."
Li Ang mentally assessed the ship. In truth, most warships from sci-fi settings were no longer attractive to Universal Megacorp 's current tech level.
With the Devastator , Inheritor's Mantle, Death Moon, Starkiller Base, Infinity-class vessels…
And now the Xeelee Nightfighter, which could itself be considered a warship—
When it came to naval warfare, Universal Megacorp was already among the elite of the multiverse. To go even further, they needed to start "cultivating" law-level weapons.
In the realm of traditional physics-based universes, Universal Megacorp was like a heavyweight pummeling a kindergarten.
Not because they only picked on weaklings, but because the odds of multiple god-tier civilizations arising in resource-limited universes were incredibly low.
In most cases, it's far more likely to see one superpower dominating several weaker ones.
At this point, Universal Megacorp had already established a multiverse-spanning trade network, absorbing and allying with countless civilizations.
With such efficient resource extraction and scientific progress across the galaxies, it would be hard for any rival to suddenly emerge.
Skipping past the Orobas, Li Ang's gaze landed on the Endurance.
This ring-shaped ship from Interstellar was designed to drift through space, moving slowly—but it was the pinnacle of Earth's space tech during the "native era."
Unfortunately, it held no value to present-day Universal Megacorp .
> "What a shame. If only I'd pulled the equation data from Interstellar instead."
Li Ang sighed.
In the movie, a supergravity field theory could be unlocked with data from a black hole singularity—allowing humanity to understand the four fundamental forces.
Once this knowledge was attained, humans rapidly evolved into a higher-dimensional civilization.
They even placed a stable wormhole near the solar system to help primitive humans uncover the laws of physics.
That's why they launched the Endurance to explore the black hole's data.
Currently, Universal Megacorp 's understanding of the fundamental forces remained limited—they hadn't fully cracked the code.
Their best shot at truth lay in deciphering the Forerunner's Neurophysics and starting their ascension in the Halo universe.
After clicking to accept the Endurance spaceship, Li Ang looked toward the remaining items from the multiverse loot pool. When he saw that even a "rusty knife" had been drawn—
He was instantly speechless.
Even items from the Rebirth Cell Universe were popping up now? This multiverse prize pool was getting more absurd by the day.
Last time, it had pulled out the Magic Bullet Shotgun from Lobotomy Corporation. Now it was handing out a knife—one that was rusty and enchanted?
But after thinking it through, Li Ang felt it wasn't all that strange.
After all, he had just completed the unification of the Galactic System in the Star Wars universe—and with Endor, a planet stuck in a multiverse, multi-dimensional space, still in play.
With even magical teddy bear realms getting refreshed into the rotation, pulling out the occasional fantasy item was no longer surprising.
> 'I wonder if the next universe will be similar to Star Wars—with some kind of mystical power like the Force.'
Li Ang chuckled lightly. After receiving the items, he quickly scanned the rest.
When he saw that he had actually drawn the Original Progenitor Virus from Blood Cross, he immediately frowned.
This virus wasn't particularly lethal, but it was extremely disgusting in how it spread. It amplified the negative traits in human genes to the extreme, turning people into hyper-aggressive beings.
The infected would retain their original intelligence—but all compassion would be wiped away, leaving behind only malice and violence.
All in all, it was something that would make Khorne rejoice.
Choosing to ignore that unpleasant item, Li Ang then noticed he'd drawn something from Battle Angel Alita (GUNNM)—and not just any item, but a martial arts manual!
> 'Mecha Combat Technique? The go-to cultivation method for mech-busting muscle-head protagonists!'
Li Ang recalled the kinds of mech-fighter novels he'd read, where every jacked-up male lead would inevitably master this kind of ancient mecha martial art.
The end result was always the same—a muscular, veiny body that could tear through mechs like peeling beef jerky.
But according to the Battle Angel Alita setting, this Mecha Combat Technique was on an entirely different level!
It combined the essence of Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Jiu-Jitsu, and other martial arts into a deadly form of close-quarters combat, specially designed for zero-gravity space battlefields.
In the Alita storyline, a true expert in this art, equipped with a sufficiently powerful cybernetic body, could even take on an entire space warship solo.
Calling it the sci-fi version of Eight Extremities Collapse from Battle Through the Heavens wouldn't be an exaggeration. It was a "whoever learns it becomes OP" type of skill.
> "This is a good one. I'll try practicing it myself first."
Li Ang grinned as he accepted the martial arts manual. Of course, he wasn't planning to bulk up into some meathead general and lead the charge himself.
For the Universal Megacorp , standard combat training was more than enough for executing most missions. There was no need to teach this technique to his employees.
It would only add unnecessary risk. Better to keep it for himself—as a kind of Eightfold Diamond Body manual for strengthening his own physique.
After collecting all the multiverse loot, Li Ang routinely turned his attention to the Stargate interface. He noticed that Level 3 Stargates appeared to be the highest tier for sci-fi universes.
To access higher-level sci-fi realms—or universes of an entirely different genre—he would likely need a different kind of megastructure. The current Stargates couldn't support entry into those advanced dimensions.
> 'Looks like I'm getting closer to the truth. I wonder if I'll eventually enter the Stellaris universe, fight off a few high-dimensional demons, then ascend into the extra-dimensional realm using an Aether Phase Engine.'
With that thought, Li Ang opened the next instance.
StarCraft—!
As expected, it was another sci-fi universe featuring a mysterious energy system similar to the Force or superpowers.
Li Ang immediately recalled the Psionic Energy in StarCraft—a form of energy that leaked from the higher-dimensional Void into the three-dimensional universe.
Humans could use this psionic energy to ascend to a godlike state.
> "Now this is going to be a real problem."
Li Ang didn't feel nearly as relaxed as he had when entering the Star Wars universe. Instead, he felt a heavy, suffocating pressure settle over him.
The Star Wars universe, when you boiled it down, wasn't too difficult to handle—so long as you didn't recklessly provoke Endor or offend the multi-dimensional gods. If you stuck to unifying the Galactic System, the mission wasn't that hard.
All it needed was a solid, mature political framework that could bring together all the different factions and restore the glory of the Republic.
No one really cared who took the lead—they just wanted to eat well, rake in profits, and enjoy life with a few concubines and gold coins.
It was just that Palpatine failed at that.
With Li Ang's political talent and the resources at his disposal, unification had been a smooth ride. As long as he didn't poke the outer-galactic hornet's nest, there was basically no way to lose.
But the StarCraft universe was a whole different beast.
Here, the so-called "gods" were real—and shameless enough to descend into battle themselves to crush humanity.
Not to mention the Zerg constantly causing trouble, and the Protoss making one reckless move after another. For the Universal Megacorp to complete its unification mission here, it would take even more effort than in the Star Wars realm.
And Li Ang's task now was… deceptively simple:
Lead the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss to beat down the gods—and complete the unification of the StarCraft universe.
> "Huuuuuh—!!"
He took several deep breaths in a row to calm his nerves. Up until now, his journey had been full of loopholes and free lunches. He'd mostly been bullying sleeping or sealed deities.
He hadn't faced many real threats.
But now, he was about to go head-to-head with the StarCraft universe's true god—Amon.
This time, it would be a direct showdown between the Universal Megacorp and the gods.
> "Xel'Naga… Amon…"
Li Ang murmured those two familiar names.
The Xel'Naga were higher-dimensional beings from the StarCraft universe, residing in the Void. They weren't a single entity, but an entire species.
Strictly speaking, the Xel'Naga weren't all-powerful gods. They couldn't snap their fingers and rewrite universal laws or destroy everything in their path.
Rather than deities, they were better seen as the final evolutionary stage of mortal civilizations—proof that a species could ascend through hard work.
Li Ang started pondering the fine details of the StarCraft setting. He knew he'd have to find the right angle of attack if he wanted to avoid being dragged into an endless war with Amon.
Within this universe, there existed something akin to a "Void Realm"—essentially the origin of all things, yet also existing independently on a higher dimension.
Its relationship to the physical universe was akin to the Heaven Realm and Mortal Realm in Chinese mythology.
And the psionic energy? That was just Void energy leaking into the 3D universe.
So the Xel'Naga, as residents of the Void, could be regarded as "gods," and their Ulnar Temple, where they slept, as the Heavenly Palace.
But their true forms were ultimate hybrid lifeforms—grotesque amalgamations at the peak of biological evolution. So their appearance wasn't exactly "immortal sage" material.
They were more like indescribable mosaics—Lovecraftian horrors.
Fortunately, the Xel'Naga generally followed a kind of cosmic order in their actions.
Their purpose was to create, select, and nurture sentient species—to help them evolve to their highest potential, and eventually merge with the Xel'Naga species.
Because the Xel'Naga couldn't reproduce, their population could only be sustained by sacrificing older members, whose essence would help selected candidates ascend into godhood.
This meant a strict one-in, one-out system—no more, no less.
> "These gods are basically like lines of code keeping the universe running—just maintenance scripts for the StarCraft system."
Recalling this, Li Ang couldn't help but feel that the Xel'Naga were no different from your average 9-to-9 corporate drone. Just cogs in the cosmic machine.
The one exception? The Fallen One—Amon!
Amon's original job was to create life and safeguard civilizations. But over time, he became disillusioned with this endless cycle.
The predetermined nature of everything—the "final answer" of the universe laid out before him—drove him mad.
He couldn't accept that this was what it meant to be a god.
So he resolved to destroy the entire system—everything that was structured and stable—in order to break through and discover the real truth of existence.
Amon's goal? Take over the Void Realm, then obliterate the 3D universe.
He wanted to smash both together—Void and Reality—hoping to shatter the fourth wall and become the first entity to reach the true, final revelation.
Even if that meant deleting everything—wiping away order, civilization, and all of existence—until only emptiness remained.
To do that, Amon chose the most primal form of physical essence: the Zerg. He genetically engineered their leader, the Overmind, to act as his personal enforcer.
The Overmind controlled the entire Zerg swarm, and using this army, Amon sneak-attacked the slumbering Xel'Naga and wiped most of them out.
Only Ouros, one of the Xel'Naga, narrowly escaped and went into hiding.
With the Void Realm conquered, Amon turned his eyes toward destroying the physical universe.
But due to cosmic restrictions, higher-dimensional beings like Amon couldn't enter the 3D world directly. So he needed a body—a vessel capable of existing in the material realm.
> 'Classic "Satan Descending" plotline…'
Li Ang muttered to himself.
This vessel needed to be forged from both Zerg biomass and Protoss psionic essence—the ultimate physical and mental templates.
The Zerg and Protoss were long observed by the Xel'Naga, both prime candidates for ascension.
So in essence, Amon was peeling his colleagues' skin to build a flesh suit for himself to destroy the universe—a textbook evil god narrative.
But just as Amon was preparing to enact his plan, the Overmind unexpectedly gained self-awareness.
At the same time, Ouros, the surviving Xel'Naga, began whispering from the Void.
Like a twisted Lovecraftian siren, he tempted the Overmind:
> "Why slave away for that cosmic boomer Amon? Work for me instead, and I'll make you a god. You in?"
The Overmind was thrilled.
So while it continued helping Amon invade Aiur to harvest Protoss essence, it secretly sharpened its blade—ready to strike Amon down at the right moment.
Because who would willingly work for a boss whose goal was to blow up the entire universe?
Now that a chance at godhood was on the table, the Overmind had to consider—this might be its one shot at true freedom.
