Chapter 377: Ginkaku
If it were at the beginning of her transmigration, even with the means of soul summoning, Ino wouldn't have dared to do this, for fear of angering the Sage of Six Paths who was monitoring the ninja world. Now that she had a very good relationship with Ashura, she wasn't afraid.
The Gold and Silver Brothers caused trouble everywhere with the Sage's ninja tools. They were indeed descendants of the Sage of Six Paths, but that's all they were. Hashirama Senju was the reincarnation of his son. When Orochimaru used Edo Tensei on the First Hokage, no heavenly thunder descended. When snake-Kabuto used Edo Tensei on the Gold and Silver Brothers, no old man jumped out to stop him.
Now that Ino had a good relationship with Ashura, she wasn't afraid that his father would jump out to stop her. She estimated that the old man of the Six Paths didn't care about such trivial matters.
Ten minutes into the soul-summoning ceremony, a layer of fine sweat had already appeared on her forehead.
She was worried about touching the Cloud Village's sensory squad's jutsu formulas, so she wrapped her Yin Release chakra with the Shinigami's aura and performed the soul summoning very carefully.
The price was that it was getting colder and colder inside and outside the room, and the phantom of the Shinigami slowly appeared behind her.
Choji, with his broad mind and fat body, slept relatively soundly. Kiba was already hugging Akamaru and shivering. Shikamaru's constitution was the worst. If Ino hadn't blocked most of the yin energy, he would have woken up from the cold.
After continuous soul summoning, Ino had no gains. She was quite puzzled. Where are the souls of these two brothers? Such great villains, they couldn't have had their wishes fulfilled, had no more attachment to the world, and returned to the Pure Land, right?
If she continued, she was worried about alerting the Cloud Village's sensory squad. She wanted to give up but was a bit unwilling.
After another seven minutes, just as she was about to withdraw the soul-summoning ceremony, a soul with dark red chakra slowly floated over from a distance.
"Finally!"
Ino carefully identified it. The soul that came had long, gray, shoulder-length hair and a fierce face. Although its figure was a bit blurry, she could barely make out a large character "Silver" on the soul's arm.
The one who came was Ginkaku.
Sensing her gaze, Ginkaku turned his head rather sluggishly. After seeing his appearance clearly, Ino's heart skipped a beat.
She had seen Indra, seen Ashura, and had more dealings with Sasuke and Naruto, but none of those people moved her.
Ginkaku's appearance made her a little apprehensive because Ginkaku had two horns growing on his head.
What did this mean? It meant that the Sage of Six Paths' bloodline in him was very strong, so strong that it had reverted to its ancestral form.
Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki (the Sage of Six Paths), Hamura Ōtsutsuki, Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki—all of these guys, without exception, had the appearance of having two horns on their heads, at most some were long and some were short.
Toneri Ōtsutsuki, who lived on the moon, had no horns in his normal state. It was only after entering the Tenseigan mode that a horn grew from the middle of his head.
Now that Ginkaku had two horns sticking out, it made Ino a little guilty.
If the Sage of Six Paths appeared later, should she call him "Grandpa" or "Ancestor"? Would it be disrespectful to slide on her knees?
She waited patiently for a while, but no old man jumped out to chat with her.
She became hesitant again. Ginkaku's horns couldn't be the bloodline left by the neighboring Four Emperor Kaido, right?
Ginkaku was in a daze, attracted by the Nine-Tails' chakra. Like a hungry ghost, he swallowed the Nine-Tails' chakra in big mouthfuls, as if it were the best delicacy in the world.
Halfway through eating, he finally woke up from his long slumber.
"I remember I'm already dead."
He fiercely surveyed the layout of his surroundings, and his gaze finally fell on Ino.
"Little thing, you're the one who woke this old man up? Kneel down, kowtow three times, and you can tell this old man any wish you have. Consider it a reward for this old man occupying your body."
He said it in a matter-of-fact tone. Ino glanced at him but didn't speak.
Ginkaku has already fallen into my soul-summoning jutsu, and he's still trying to act tough? What gives you the confidence? Just that little bit of Nine-Tails' chakra?
She had to wait and see what the big shot's reaction was.
She waited another two minutes.
"Taishang Laojun" did not appear to take Ginkaku away, and the expected soul of Kinkaku did not appear either.
"Are you waiting for Kinkaku? You covet the power of us brothers, am I right?" Ginkaku secretly mobilized his chakra, trying to break free from the soul-summoning jutsu she had set up specifically for souls, while talking to stall for time.
Ino checked her jutsu formula. There was no problem with the formula; Kinkaku really didn't come.
For this result, there was only one answer: Kinkaku probably didn't die in the Cloud Village. The distance was too far, so her soul summoning couldn't reach him.
"The information says that the Third Raikage personally killed Kinkaku to avenge his father. I can't summon his soul, which means Kinkaku's place of death is far from the Cloud Village… I can summon your soul, which means you died in the Cloud Village. It seems the seriously injured Second Hokage still managed to kill you before he died. Did he do it at the village gate?"
Ino shook her head repeatedly. "You're such a waste. You were holding the treasured tools of the Sage of Six Paths, and you had the element of surprise. You had the advantage, but you were still killed by the lone Second Hokage. You're so stupid."
Hearing the name of the Second Hokage, Ginkaku was as angry as if his ancestral grave had been dug up. "What do you know?! You've angered this old man! You will regret it, Konoha ninja!"
Ginkaku clearly had no body, but his soul still stored a large amount of chakra. Coupled with the Nine-Tails' chakra he had just devoured, his body changed rapidly. A dark red Tailed Beast cloak covered his entire body, and semi-Tailed Beast tails emerged one after another.
Ino almost laughed out loud. If you used any other move, I might be a little wary. After all, there are two Cloud muscle-heads standing outside the door, and the soundproof barrier has its limits. But you're using a semi-Tailed Beast transformation in front of me? I beat Naruto for two courses of treatment! A full fourteen days!
She was too familiar with this set of semi-Tailed Beast transformation.
Ino opened her right hand, and five tree branches as thick as a wrist appeared out of thin air, winding and coiling, wrapping around Ginkaku's head and limbs, then contracting inward.
"Wood Release! Who are you?" Ginkaku was a little panicked.
Ino quickly formed hand seals. She used Wood Release to turn Ginkaku upside down, head down and feet up, and then started shaking!
"You have the treasured tools of the Sage of Six Paths in your soul too, right? Spit them out for me. If I'm happy, I'll send you to rest in peace."
Like inducing vomiting, she controlled the Wood Release to shake violently, while using the soul-summoning jutsu to locate the abnormal chakra belonging to the treasured tools, then forcefully squeezed the tools out of Ginkaku's soul.
"Alright! It's coming out. I see a head. What is this? A gourd? What's this? A big sword?"
A crimson gourd, a seven-star sword.
She obtained two treasured tools of the Sage of Six Paths from Ginkaku's soul.
No matter how much she shook, nothing else came out. Ino cast the reverse Edo Tensei jutsu that the Second Hokage had taught her into Ginkaku's soul. Rest in peace.
