Chapter 621 - Chapter 621: Minato Namikaze vs. Tobi

Chapter 621: Minato Namikaze vs. Tobi

Gamabunta's face was already naturally puffy. Now, his cheek, jaw, shoulders, arms, and torso were being pummeled by countless fists. His clothes and sash were beaten to rags. Tobi seemed to be focusing on his chin. Facing the storm of blows, Bunta's face went completely numb.

"Right hook!" Before he could even regain his footing, another five hundred fists hammered him from the other side.

Bunta's face was beaten to a pulp. This was a raw deal!

Tobi's True Several Thousand Hands was a typical, shrink-flation version. The individual punches weren't that powerful. One or two, Bunta, with his "tough-guy toad" persona, could grit his teeth and tank.

The problem was the sheer number of fists!

He'd barely swing his sword once before he was hammered by an uncountable number of blows.

"Bunta, hold on!" Minato, who had gotten him into this mess, was still looking for the perfect opening.

Bunta knew he couldn't retreat now, not when he was this deep in. He looked like he'd gained weight, but it was just swelling!

He made a decision. He tossed his forty-meter tanto aside.

Technique and swordsmanship were useless here. Shielding his vital points with his arms, he unleashed his brute strength, slamming his entire body into the statue like a cannonball.

Both behemoths staggered backward over ten meters.

The statue's retreat carved a deep trench into the street.

An entire city block was instantly reduced to rubble. Iruka and the Anbu squads were scrambling to rescue civilians. From Minato's vantage point alone, he could see at least ten people buried beneath the debris.

Mercy has no place in war. He had no time to save them. He had to get this statue out of the village.

"Bunta, just a little longer."

"A little more... get a little closer."

"Now! Thanks, you can go!"

Bunta: "..."

Covered in wounds, the toad vanished back to Mount Myoboku. He was so exasperated he couldn't even muster a curse.

Minato had his timing. As Tobi re-entered his optimal range, he threw a barrage of kunai. Tobi sneered, controlling the statue's massive hands to swat the tools away. But in the chaos, two Hiraishin kunai slipped through the gaps.

Minato instantly teleported to Tobi's side, slapping a Hiraishin seal directly onto the wooden body of the statue. Then, ignoring the massive chakra drain, he teleported both Tobi and the giant statue together, vanishing from Konoha and reappearing at a small outpost ten li (about 5km) away.

A dozen ninja were stationed at the outpost. Seeing the Hokage suddenly appear with... that, they all panicked.

"There's an enemy in the village! All of you, return now!" Minato ordered.

Staring at the multi-story statue, the outpost ninja knew they were useless in this fight. They "slid down the slope" (took the easy out) and scrambled back toward Konoha without a second thought.

Tobi looked around with exaggerated motions, as if unable to comprehend how he'd been moved. "Was that you? Can you teach me? That move is so cool!"

Minato frowned. "Do you really think that's possible? Give me back my son, and I'll let you leave safely."

Tobi suddenly became indignant. "Your son? This Jinchūriki is your son? You're such a cruel father! How could you treat your own flesh and blood like this!"

Minato was speechless. Is this guy insane?

Tobi kept ranting, then suddenly trailed off. "If I... wait, no, I can't have a son. I don't... have the organs for that. By the way, do you know... what 'the urge to poop' is? I've been wondering for so long. I asked Obito, but he couldn't explain it either!"

He finished, then clapped his hands over his mouth, realizing what he'd said. He stage-whispered, "Wait... do you know Obito?"

Minato nodded slowly. "I know Obito secretly formed the Akatsuki."

"Oh, you scared me! I thought I'd let the big secret slip! Phew! This is so troubling. They didn't even tell me to kill the Hokage. What am I supposed to do?" Tobi muttered, tapping his chest.

Suddenly, he realized Minato was instantly at his left side. He yelped, lashing out with a vine to parry. While fighting, he kept muttering, "Hey, how'd you jump over here? I already erased your mark!"

Minato didn't say a word, his focus entirely on retrieving his son.

Now in front, suddenly behind. He pushed his speed to its absolute limit. In the blink of an eye, Tobi had been stabbed twice and blasted clean through from behind by a Rasengan.

But Tobi's recovery was astounding, and his body had no vital organs. Hitting him in the heart or the foot made no difference.

Tobi suddenly struck a pose of realization. "Oh, I get it! You left the mark on the statue, didn't you?"

Minato truly couldn't tell if this guy was genuinely this stupid or just playing dumb. You're only just figuring that out?

He used his transcendent speed to weave between the True Several Thousand Hands. The outpost was obliterated in the first exchange. The statue's fists rained down, cratering the earth in a bombardment so intense it looked like it had been "cleaned by missiles."

Tobi's five-elemental jutsu was also a fearsome technique. He mixed fire, wind, lightning, earth, and water. Wind arrows peppered the area, followed by a massive flood. Lightning-style jutsu slithered through the water like electric snakes, followed by waves of mud and fire.

Even with Minato's unparalleled speed, he was being pushed back by the sheer scale of the ninjutsu assault.

"So this is the Fourth Hokage? The 'Golden Flash' doesn't seem so great after all. I'm so strong! Maybe I should be the leader of Akatsuki? Hahaha, what a difficult decision..."

Just as Tobi stood with his hands on his hips, reveling in his own perceived glory, he suddenly noticed Minato's chakra signature change drastically.

"Sage Mode!" The same orange pigmentation as Naruto's appeared around Minato's eyes. His chakra levels exploded, and his speed and power were amplified to a new level.

"Hm?" Tobi blinked. In that instant, Minato used a simple Body Flicker to appear behind him, but he moved so fast Tobi couldn't even react. Before Tobi could turn, a heavy fist slammed into his waist, followed by a vicious kick to the inside of his knee. As he stumbled, Minato flicked his foot, popping the unconscious Naruto into the air. Tobi, with his zero real combat experience, instinctively looked up.

"Sage Art: Rasengan!"

A Rasengan, more powerful and faster to form than its normal version, shot straight at Tobi's head. The goofy persona instantly vanished. Tobi's "swirly" head split open, revealing Yamato's weak, pale face inside.

Tobi seemed desperate to see Minato's expression at this critical moment. His attention was locked on Minato's face, completely failing to notice that the threatening Rasengan in the Hokage's right hand was a feint. Both of them were acting, but Minato was the superior performer.

He used the powerful-looking Rasengan to draw Tobi's full attention. His left hand, hidden, snuck forward. In the split second Tobi's main body (attached to Yamato) was exposed, five different chakra natures flared on Minato's fingertips. He slammed his palm onto Yamato's torso.

"Five Elements Seal!"
