Chapter 626: Six Paths Ino

Three tomoe appeared in the innermost ring of her Rinnegan, spaced 120 degrees apart. Her pale purple eyes flickered, threatening to turn red like Urashiki's, but the transformation stopped, her foundation still not deep enough.

She condensed the moisture in the air into an ice mirror and looked at her reflection.

The dōjutsu in her eyes was so potent it was almost tangible. Her mere gaze sent fine vibrations through the chakra-infused ice.

This didn't mean she was suddenly strong enough to destroy the heavens; it meant her control had plummeted.

Ino closed her eyes, opened them, and closed them again. It took several minutes of adjustment before the sharp, piercing light in her gaze was no longer so overwhelming.

She felt her forehead. Nothing.

It seems I can't open the 'Rinne-Sharingan' without eating the Chakra Fruit. Her eyes were like Sasuke's in the original timeline: a Tomoe-Rinnegan.

A Tomoe-Rinnegan provided Six Paths Power, but it was fundamentally still a Kekkei Genkai formed from Indra's and Asura's chakra. It wasn't related to the five elements. If she didn't resist, a simple kunai could blind it. Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan, however, was a Kekkei Mōra combining all seven elements. Just try stabbing that with a kunai.

The Sage of Six Paths' forehead mark probably wasn't even an eye, Ino mused. It was probably just a red mark from pinching his brow too much when he was thinking...

"Still... not quite enough." Ino carefully sensed the new power within her.

The increase was massive, but it wasn't sufficient.

Every Academy student knew the chakra pathway system had 361 tenketsu, or "chakra points." Ino had even told Sakura that the Byakugan, Sharingan, and Rinnegan could be considered two new tenketsu, bringing the total to 363. When Danzō strapped all those Sharingan to his arm, he was placing them on tenketsu points, using the eyes to replace the function of those points.

This was why the "eye-wielding" ninjas were a cut above the rest; those two extra points amplified their power and speed. It was a fundamental enhancement of their very being.

And the center of the forehead... that was clearly the location for a 364th tenketsu. The boost from that point would be even greater. Unfortunately, neither Ino nor the Sage of Six Paths had any idea how to access it. The sheer energy, or chakra, required was too vast.

From this perspective, the Ōtsutsuki clan's evolution had not yet reached its true apex. They were just a clan of very strong aliens.

Ino's current level was still insufficient against a "Six Paths" Madara (as the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki). Against Kaguya? The gap was even wider.

The Sage of Six Paths had used the Ten-Tails' power in his youth, but abandoned it in his later years, deeming it not the "true path."

Ino's fish-basket held roughly thirty percent of the Ten-Tails' chakra—at least, thirty percent of its current state.

If she became its Jinchūriki, she would have an endless supply. If she ran low, she could just draw more from the beast.

But Ino was not its Jinchūriki, and she had no desire to shove a super-psycho into her own body just to gain power she could eventually master through study.

She was now in a state similar to Six Paths Naruto and Sasuke. The chakra in her fish-basket was usable, but it was a consumable. Once it was gone, it was gone.

She wasn't opposed to this temporary boost. When the time came, she would use it. But not now.

She glanced into the basket. The chakra within was wild, savage, and insane. It no longer mattered which Tailed Beast it originally belonged to; the moment it entered the Ten-Tails and was drawn back out, it became Ten-Tails chakra.

Her own little fox was a child, her creation. Its chakra naturally carried a child's innocence and affection, making it comfortable to absorb.

The Ten-Tails, however, was a "jaded old man" with way too much baggage. Its will was embedded in this chakra. Absorbing it was extremely risky.

Ino put the Rainbow Light Fish-basket away. It would be her trump card.

She would use the vast reserves of Indra's and Asura's chakra she had stored inside herself. Their gifts were free of any personal will; they were hers completely. Using them was perfectly safe.

Ino infused her cells with the newly-merged Six Paths chakra. Her Ōtsutsuki-fication deepened, the human part of her receding. Horns began to sprout from her head, but she used her Kekkei Mōra to mobilize her bloodline and forcibly suppress them.

The Ōtsutsuki's horns are completely unnecessary. They all look bizarre, and for what? So they can headbutt people in a fight?

Uchiha Madara could let himself go, but she had no desire to turn into some strange monster. This suppression, however, slowed her evolution.

After a full thirty minutes, she finally emerged from a cocoon of golden light.

Her golden hair had snapped its tie, cascading instantly to her waist, leaving only the bangs that covered her right eye.

Three black tomoe marks appeared on her skin: one on each collarbone and one at the base of her neck. Her clothes had been replaced by a "moon-colored," long, high-collared robe, belted at the waist. Six tomoe were arranged on the collar. On her back was the Sage of Six Paths' signature spiral crest, surrounded by nine tomoe arranged in a 3x3 grid.

With a thought, Ino's Yin-Yang Release turned illusion into reality. Truth-Seeking Orbs began to materialize behind her.

One, two, three... when she reached fifteen, she felt her control begin to strain. This was likely her limit.

Is more orbs better? Or fewer? Neither. It was just a tool; the number was meaningless.

Toneri had twelve, Madara had ten, Obito nine, Asura eight, Naruto six, Hagoromo three, and Kaguya... just one massive one. The Sage of Six Paths himself had called the orbs a "basic skill of Yin-Yang Release." Was there really any point in chasing a high score?

Ino dismissed the orbs. She could just form them when she needed them.

She took a moment to acclimate to her explosive increase in strength and speed, and to familiarize herself with the new skill her Three-Tomoe Rinnegan had acquired.

"Rinnegan: Coercion!"

Kaguya had used this ability with her Byakugan, and Urashiki had used it with his golden Rinnegan. Ino had tried to mimic it before but had never succeeded. She hadn't expected to master it automatically with this evolution.

Her Kekkei Mōra, enhanced by her strengthened body—or rather, her deepened Ōtsutsuki-fication—had also granted her a new ability.

"Bon Bridge."

Her "Waning Moon Bridge" was made of stone. Her "Bridge of Helplessness" was made of paper. This "Bon Bridge" (Yulán Bridge) was a "bridge of flowers."

It seemed to be a sealing-type ability, a new aspect of her bloodline.
