The Underworld.
Son Goku was still thinking about King Kai's promise to take him to the Grand Kai's Planet for training. His body was the first to recover, and he had been engaging in high-intensity training for twenty-four hours every day, just hoping to maintain a peak condition so that the Grand Kai would teach him martial arts when the time came. However, after waiting for several days without any news, he was becoming frantic with anxiety.
Could the North Kai have forgotten about him?
The North Kai had indeed forgotten about him.
Ino's band over there was proceeding like a house on fire, and naturally, the blue fatty wanted to join in.
What was his relationship with Ino? No problem at all! Without a second word, a bassist position was directly arranged for him.
The North Kai's musical attainments were merely average, but he had the advantage of having lived for a long time; he knew a little bit of everything. With just a little familiarization, he could get started.
Once he joined the band, the South Kai wouldn't stand for it.
Tapion was a warrior of his South Galaxy, after all; he had to get involved no matter what.
As the saying goes, the magistrate in charge is better than the emperor far away. If the South Kai were to impose restrictions, Tapion really wouldn't be able to attend the band rehearsals.
A day later, the South Kai became the band's backing vocalist.
The West Kai, having been cut off, soon received the news. He threw a tantrum, rolling on the ground, and managed to mix his way into a position in the band as well, acting as the keyboardist.
With the North Kai, South Kai, and West Kai joining the band one after another, the remaining East Kai, who looked like a fat lady, was put in a tough spot.
She truly didn't like music; she didn't like rock, rap, or anything of the sort.
But since the other three King Kais had all joined, how could you not join?
The Grand Kai might not remember who joined, but he would definitely remember who didn't.
Whether the four King Kais did a good job or a bad job was all the same; the Grand Kai had no authority to remove them. However, as their direct superior, unless it was a matter of principle, it was best not to offend him.
With no other choice, the East Kai braced herself and joined the band. The Grand Kai was the lead guitarist, so she became the rhythm guitarist.
The four King Kais engaged in frantic internal competition, and the atmosphere of the band became incredibly intense for a time. Consequently, the North Kai completely forgot about Son Goku's matter!
When another day of rehearsal ended, he saw Son Goku sitting in the seats below, clapping and cheering. He was instantly dumbfounded.
His first reaction was that he had forgotten Son Goku. His second reaction was: how did this guy run over to the Grand Kai's Planet?
He quickly figured out the reason; this must have been Ino bringing him over.
Bringing people over was fine, but wanting to train on the Grand Kai's Planet required the Grand Kai's approval. The North Kai immediately took Son Goku to see the Grand Kai.
"Son Goku? You really are a person of simple thoughts." The 'simple thoughts' in the Grand Kai's mouth was not derogatory; he indeed held a bit of appreciation for Son Goku.
Son Goku's heart of a child was exceptionally rare in the eyes of an old man like him who had experienced countless storms.
The Grand Kai had seen too many people and too many things. Those who could leave a good impression on him at the first meeting were as rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns. His first impression of Ino wasn't good; the relationship was slowly established later through her constant bootlicking and catering to his whims. The four King Kais were the same—cunning, lazy, gluttonous, and slippery—these four occupied all those traits.
Son Goku was different. In the Grand Kai's eyes, this person was truly very pure.
He had no hidden agendas, and his mind was as clean as a blank sheet of paper. For a moment, the Grand Kai even moved to accept him as a disciple, but ultimately, he felt he was too old and found it troublesome, so he cut off that thought immediately.
"Alright, I agree." He agreed readily, then shouldered his boombox and walked away in a meandering, carefree manner.
The North Kai was stunned. He originally thought he would have to waste a lot of breath, but he didn't expect it to go so smoothly.
Son Goku didn't have any superfluous thoughts. He just felt that the environment of the Grand Kai's Planet was nice and that he could hone his martial arts there. The North Kai had taught him everything he could; the rest was to consolidate his foundation, increase his base battle power, then improve his physical constitution and raise the level of the Kaio-ken. Son Goku could practice these things on his own.
The North Kai gave a few instructions and then went to the side to rest.
He had to rest; the competition was truly too intense. The rehearsals over these past few days had been so hard that the East Kai had tired herself into illness, and the South Kai's voice was a bit hoarse. He needed to seize every second to rest now.
According to the West Kai's original plan, the First Other World Martial Arts Tournament was just about setting up a ring, selecting people from various places, having a crackling fight, and being done with it.
Ino made this tournament formal and incredibly tedious.
She treated a chicken feather as a token of authority, stirring up the entire Underworld.
Leaders could slack off, but leaders absolutely did not wish for the people underneath to slack off along with them. previously, the entire Underworld system was a case of the busy dying from work while the idle died from boredom. This absolutely would not do.
Ledgers, progress charts, work plans, supervision and inspection, and post-event summaries—not a single one could be missing.
Aside from the necessary procedures, she added countless tasks for everyone.
The Preparatory Group had to hold meetings from time to time. Sometimes the Grand Kai came to these meetings, and sometimes he simply didn't come. The four King Kais had to come. These four were all lazybones, the type who would sleep sixteen hours out of twenty-four in a day. Coupled with the rather arduous rehearsals, the meetings became their rare rest time.
Normally, they would start dozing off as soon as they entered the conference room. Ino didn't bother with them, proceeding to report her work to the air on her own.
Today, as soon as she entered the conference room, she unexpectedly found that not only were the four King Kais present, but even the Grand Kai, who rarely attended preparatory meetings, was there.
What was the situation?
The Grand Kai gave her a look. She didn't quite understand the meaning, but she still followed her own rhythm and reported her work progress to the Preparatory Committee.
"Under the leadership of Lord Grand Kai and the four Lord King Kais, the Preparatory Group has completed all tasks of the first phase. We have conducted a full discussion on the feasibility study plan for the First Other World Martial Arts Tournament, officially launched the project, and completed the initial bidding work. Planet Derich, Planet Yarlin, and Planet Kun Onesta are willing to be responsible for the venue construction work. Taylor, Watgu, and the Blue Planet will be responsible for the food and drinks for the guests.
"We have designed thirteen tournament plans and conducted a survey with a coverage rate as high as 90%. Currently, everyone is very supportive of Lord Grand Kai's wise decision. It is estimated that martial artists, warriors, heroes, and espers from 3,500 planets will participate. We uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality...
"In the second phase, we will further investigate hidden dangers, subdivide the work tasks, and prepare contingency plans for accident handling..."
Ino constantly unsealed the scrolls in her hands. Various texts and reports recorded in various ways piled up in the conference room. The four King Kais pretended to pick them up and look at them.
"Mm, not bad." The Grand Kai nodded gently. Ino waited for his following words, only to find that there were no following words.
Just as she was feeling surprised, she saw a slightly small figure walk out from the air beside the Grand Kai.
This small individual appeared to be a male, sporting a white punk hairstyle and purple skin. His attire was ancient and primitive, seeming to possess a unique rhythm. The most critical point was that he was floating in mid-air. One had to know that on the Grand Kai's Planet, no one was allowed to fly.
Who is this? Such a big air of importance?
