Early in the morning, as the snow outside had finally stopped after forming another fresh layer on the ground, Lavinia's body stirred under the heavy blanket they were wrapped in.
The sun still wasn't out yet and there was still an hour before Kael woke up and entered the Genesis Hive together with Imperia to train.
Then why was Lavinia awake?
It was because this was the only time in the day she had, the only chance where she was absolutely sure that she wasn't going to get caught.
Thinking about it, Lavinia's face turned red, even more when she stared at Kael's completely innocent and peaceful face.
It all started as a necessity, a way to ensure that Kael wasn't disturbed by his nightmares. The second time, Lavinia only did it to make sure he was alright, and the third time? She just wanted to be absolutely sure.
