Silence.
Absolute silence fell over the place.
The soldiers around the area stared at Kael, absolutely horrified by the gory scene they had just witnessed. Some with weaker stomachs began puking when Kael pulled apart Reed's head together with his spine. Some of the flesh and muscle had fallen on their faces, instantly making them lose themselves.
Yes, these were soldiers, and yes, every single one of them had seen more blood than most beings in the world, but…
Gore and blood were two entirely different things. No matter how strong their stomachs were, they couldn't possibly watch something like this and not react at all.
The soldiers remained frozen, not moving even when the enemy was right in front of them.
But the enemy wasn't the same—he moved.
With his entire body now covered in Reed's blood and Reed's head in his right hand, he turned towards them.
"You brought this on yourself."
He spoke, the pressure in his voice felt like it had just announced their fates.
