Elisa sat curled on the couch in her apartment, knees hugged to her chest, the late afternoon sunlight slicing across the room in golden slants, giving the rays more of a prison bar illusion than warmth.
It has been days since she had stormed out of Cael's office, and her heart hadn't stopped aching since then.
Mira had been very furious when she came to see her after her shift at the clinic that day.
"What the hell is his problem! Why is he acting like a fucking dictator?" She raged as she paced back and forth in the room.
Elisa sank deeper into the couch, her eyes focused on the wall behind Mira. "Well, beta Jason said even though he didn't know Cael was going to terminate my job, he did it for a good reason."
"I don't care what reasons he had!" Mira had raged, pacing back and forth in Elisa's apartment. "He had no right to terminate your job without even telling you! What the hell is wrong with him?!"
