It takes everything in my power to just stand here and not run to her.
I watch as the Commander shows off the image of the picture-perfect husband, lifting his wife into his arms and leaving.
Only that's not his wife.
That's mine.

The first thing I am aware of is the beeping. That is steady, rhythmic and annoying.The second thing is that I'm cold, very cold and the third thing I notice is that I have a raging headache.
"Finally."
A voice says, and I turn my head. I find Dr. Solis, with a stern look on her face—though it's not really intimidating with how tiny and cute she is.
She has a tablet in one hand and a stylus in the other, wearing a white coat that looks two sizes too big for her.
"You fainted," she says, her voice carrying that trademark abrasive tone. "Dehydration. Exhaustion. Low blood sugar. You haven't been eating, have you?"
I ignore her question.
"How long have I been here?" I ask, my voice hoarse.
"Over ten hours."
