Chapter 443: Daphne
Each time I think I have experienced everything, I experience something new. For instance, lying naked and entwined like this in a forest, underneath moonlight.
Not in a sexual way—in a newborn baby lying on a new mother's chest type of way.
It is so... honestly, kinda freeing.
She decides to run a couple of fingers through my hair. It feels amazing.
"I heard from other wolves that Lyra beat up the Luna's son again," she says.
"He must have deserved it," I say.
She laughs softly. The sound vibrates through her chest, and I feel it against my cheek.
"She must get that violent nature from you," she says.
"Oh, you are no saint, my beloved." I lift my head to look at her. "I have heard from your brother."
Her eyes widen slightly.
"What has he told you?"
I smile.
"Enough."
She groans. "I am going to kill him."
"See." I raise an eyebrow. "Not exactly a peaceful thought, that is."
"It was an expression," she defends.
