Aedric had fully expected that Arin, after gaining control, would immediately open the city gates and welcome the Undead into Siterion.
It seemed like the logical, if terrifying, next step after Arin's shocking plan.
However, when no such thing happened, Aedric was truly surprised.
But he bit back his questions, for he did not dare to ask Arin directly.
He feared that the Dark Lord might think Aedric was doubting his decisions or challenging his wisdom. The thought alone sent a shiver down his spine, for he was aware of Arin's terrible power, as well as his even more terrible temper.
But Aedric's curiosity was a strong thing, like a stubborn itch he couldn't scratch, and he couldn't keep it to himself for very long.
So, he finally managed to catch Ragna alone and asked if she knew anything or if Arin, the Lord, had shared any part of his grand plan with her.
Aedric hoped for a simple answer, a small piece of understanding to calm his agitating mind.
Ragna smiled at him.
