Chapter 66 - The Carillon Yard

Selene saw multiple slaves, all of them seemed happy or in a deep state of pleasure.

It was off to her. This was a slave yard right? Or was she going crazy.

She saw a snake slither by her foot she jumped back.

"AH!"

"Don't worry they won't bite you." Freya stated simply.

As they entered the mansion she saw a slave run out screaming.

"You... You!" He grabbed her throat. "MONSTER!"

She smiled and patted his shoulder "Breathe. Everything is okay."

He hesitated before breathed slowly and soon sighed.

"Sorry, Freya. I was overwhelmed."

She let out a soft laugh.

Then sent him off.

"What was that?"

"Sometimes it gets stressful knowing your a slave... That's why I make my yard the best, to reduce the feeling."

"Your really kind."

Freya nodded

Once inside she noticed how luxurious it was.

White marble floor, nice furniture. It was nothing like the house of a slave yard.

"Have seat"

Selene sat on the couch and saw saw 2 other slaves playing together.

"Would you like some tea?"

Selene looked at her "What kind?"

"Green"

Selene nodded.

Freya snapped her fingers and a slave nodded and went to prepare the drink.

Selene saw a book on the table.

The boy who ruled the world.

Freya spoke up "It's a legend from the ancient Azuria, Coryzimia. The world of 150 Islands which introduced pirates until they were hunted and stopped in 367 A.Z."

"I've heard of that story, it's about a boy who goes the struggles until he gains a god power at 14 and ends up ruling the entire world."

Freya nodded "My mother always read that to me. His famous words was "Umi Saga, meaning I live on, In Coryzimian.

Selene looked at her, who was this woman?

The slave came back with the tea and sat it down in front of them and walked off with a smile.

Freya grabbed her cup and sipped then looked Selene in the eyes.

"I can sense a great power in you, Se-le-ne. Why do you not use it?"

Selene looked away "Because it's dangerous... I can't contain it."

Freya softly laughed "Well I guess that's too bad... I won't be able to see something as magnificent as the story describes Heru. They said he had strength to destroy worlds and speed to match it. He is said to still be alive."

"I think it's just a rumor. That was over 100,000 years ago."

Freya giggled "Yeah that is true..." She reached out towards Selene "You look like the moon, beautiful and radiant. Your aura itself is so intoxicating..."

Selene leaned back to avoid Freya's hand.

Freya noticed and smiled. Then pulled her hand back.

Selene drunk the tea. "What do I do here?"

"Respect me, and live as you want that's all I desire. Just no leaving the yard."

Selene looked at her still surprised at how kind Freya was.

Freya got up "I'll show you your room and after that you will meet with Anais to be processed."

Selene followed her upstairs.

"So how how are the other yards?"

Freya stopped "If I had to give 1 word for all of them... I'd say. Fenrir's is Madness, Kerek is Fear, Qui is Worship."

"Huh?"

"Fenrir likes to drive his slaves to madness, Kerek wants his slaves to fear him more than anything, Qui... She's a weird one, she sees herself as a God that deserves the upmost worship. Any neglect and you'll meet a gruesome end."

Selene gulped

Once they reached her room Selene felt a sense of dread, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

She walked in and saw a nice furnished room and looked with awe.

Freya patted her shoulder "Well I'll see you later Se-le-ne." Freya closed the door.

Selene sat down thinking about her friends.

Was this plan going to work?

She took a breath and walked outside the mansion.

She saw some slaves gardening and others feeding the birds.

One slave sat alone.

Selene sat next to her.

They slave had short light blue hair and green eyes she looked like she had lost all hope.

"What's wrong?"

The girl looked at Selene "What isn't?"

"I mean we're in heaven right now right? The other yards are the bad ones, were lucky."

"Your blind... Although it's not surprising you can't see it. You'll notice soon enough."

"What do you mean?"

"In this yard your just another slave. Just like every other yard your just a slave another toy. The yard masters don't feel anything for us .... Play with your mind toy with your thoughts. They do whatever they want." The girl began to cry then smile "Damn this stockyard."

Then silence.

A slave grabbed the girl "Some slaves are just overwhelmed from a lack of sleep... Because of the trauma of the other yards. Freya really does her best for us."

Selene felt it again that sense of dread.

She looked around and the world began to fold in on her. She fell to the ground and blacked out.

When she woke she was in a bed.

The room Freya showed her. She looked to her side and saw a plate of delicious food, steak, bread roll, and a glass of fruit juice.

She began to eat greedily. However stopped after a few bites.

"Selene you are a woman of respect and honor and let alone you are not an animal." She ate a bit slower savoring every bite.

A girl with white wolf ears popped in "Selene? You must be right?"

Selene looked at her and nodded.

"I am Anais" she had one red eye and a green eye.

"Your supposed to process me right? How does it work?"

"Come here"

Selene walked up to Anais who looked at her face intently.

"White hair, Blue eyes... Scar on collarbone. Please take off your clothes and change into this."

It was a short shirt and shorts.

"HUH?!"

"I have to inspect ever part of you, you will be able to change back once I am done." Anais said in a soft tone.

Selene looked at the clothes again and changed.

"This is degrading..."

"A scar on the left of your belly."

"Why are you taking note of everything on my body?"

"To make sure it's easy to identify you..."

"Okay and your name is Selene... Around 5 foot 2. Your age?"

"Um... 14"

"Okay 14, birthday?"

"Janeen 25th."

"Okay that's all. You should finish your food and rest a bit. Oh, Welcome to the Carillon yard. Selene."
