Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 - Mini Revenge

Although the rewards for completing the mini-revenge quest were very tempting, he knew that it would be difficult to fight Gallios and his minions with his current stats.

'Is it time to reap the rewards of a week's worth of farming?'

[Heroic Points: 490.]

[Kill Points: 120.]

You might be amazed by the number of points Lev has accumulated. At first glance, it can make anyone's eyes pop in surprise. However, if you consider how hard he worked day and night, accumulating approximately 70 heroic points every day for seven days actually makes a lot of sense.

He earned a lot of heroic points because he realized that performing one heroic action could give him a lot of points at once.

Lev's actions in the last seven days include:

He told one of the blacksmiths that their furnace was about to explode. As a result, he earned dozens of heroic points for preventing the owner, workers, and residents around the blacksmith's workshop from being killed in the explosion.

There was also an incident where he saved a runaway horse-drawn carriage.

Just by stopping the carriage from rampaging, he earned dozens of heroic points again. Perhaps from saving the coachman, the passengers in the carriage, the merchants on the side of the road, and the pedestrians who were busy passing by.

In addition to those two cases, he also did various other things.

He used the vague memories in his brain about bad things that had happened in the city.

'There's a reason why my intelligence stat is high, huh.'

Even though the incidents he remembered were only minor ones, he would always breathe a sigh of relief when he felt that it wasn't a waste that he had remembered them.

"Hehe, day by day, you are becoming more and more famous among the people, young master." The person who often said such things was Daria.

Lev carried out various heroic deeds with Daria's help, so Daria often nudged his waist while laughing strangely and continued to throw sarcastic words at him.

Although Lev felt that Daria's words were just sarcasm, Lev had indeed become very famous in the city of Frostgard in the past week. When he walked or passed by in a horse-drawn carriage, there would be several people who greeted him with bright smiles.

It was really new when he remembered it.

When performing heroic deeds, Lev often did so during the day, so it was no problem to bring Daria or Greda along. Except for the act of exterminating criminals in slum areas, Lev would then move alone while disguising himself.

When Lev focused on his embarrassing memory, he shook his head as he realized that he was surrounded by Gallios' men.

He looked left and right. It turned out that there were many Gallios' men standing guard in the alleys around where he was standing. Even behind him, where he had appeared earlier... In other words, almost all of the escape routes were blocked.

Gallios' men were carrying their own weapons. Although most of them used knives and wooden sticks, some were armed with swords, spears, and even arrows.

'There's no way they're going to wait for me to distribute the points, right? For now, I'd better escape!'

Lev decided to turn around and break through one of the alleys where they were surrounding him.

"What is this? You want to escape?! I won't let you escape after you killed so many of our men."

Gallios looked very emotional.

Some of his men, on the other hand, looked at Gallios with questioning gazes. They seemed to be asking why Gallios wasn't the first to chase after Lev.

"What are you doing, hurry up and chase that guy!"

In a loud voice, Gallios ordered his men to chase Lev.

Despite looking angry and shouting incoherently, Gallios still looked relaxed as he held the prostitute in his arms.

Swoosh! Swish! Sweesh!

Some of Gallios' men took the initiative to shoot arrows. Meanwhile, others charged forward using their feet.

Dozens of arrows flew through the air as if they had a strong desire to stick into Lev's back.

To avoid the barrage of arrows, Lev broke into the houses of the slum dwellers.

Crash!

He managed to break through the wooden walls of the slum dwellers' houses with ease.

"Arghhh! What is that? Who are you?"

"Hiiekk!"

It seemed that life in the slums was not all miserable. When he broke into several houses, he found that the residents were enjoying a pleasant evening activity. The scent of flowers wafted around their beds.

They only stopped and lifted their dirty blankets to cover their bodies when Lev broke in.

"Please continue!"

Lev ignored the screams of the residents and looked up.

At that moment, he jumped to avoid the attack. The attack came from someone above, knocking down the thatched roof and swinging a meat cleaver.

When someone got too close to him, he would slash their bodies and run again.

Slash!

Jump!

He didn't care if the attacks he launched killed his opponents or not. At least, the number of people chasing him was decreasing.

During his escape, he began to think about the stats on the status window.

There were several things Lev had realized in the past week.

He was becoming more and more adept at reading people's status windows.

The average stat for most people was 1 in each attribute.

When someone's stats reached 3 or 4, that person could be categorized as a novice warrior.

For someone who is ranked as an expert, the average stats are similar to Gallios, between 5 and 9.

[You converted 50 heroic points into strength stats.]

[You gained +0.5 strength stats.]

[Strength: 4.5.]

[Strength: 5.

[You have reached the minimum stat for expert warrior rank.]

The notification window confirmed Lev's deduction.

'But why am I not identified as a warrior in the status window?'

People in this world may only know two job categories, magician and warrior. However, besides those two jobs, there are other jobs besides magician and warrior.

Just like Gallios, who specializes as an Assassin.

It's just that they are still called warriors because they rely on their physical bodies to fight.

'To defeat Gallios, having the same strength stat as an expert warrior is not enough.'

[You converted 440 heroic points...]

Lev also realized something about the conversion system in the Hero's System.

Although he had received a message saying that the conversion would be adjusted according to how impactful the points were, there was one clear rule.

Points obtained from quests are worth several times more than points obtained outside of quests.

Although the heroic points he had obtained in the last few days were not points he had obtained from completing quests, 440 was not a small number.

[+4.4 points successfully added to Dexterity attribute.]

[Dexterity: 6.]

[Dexterity: 10.4.]

[Your Dexterity attribute has exceeded that of an Expert Warrior.]

The reason Lev raised his Dexterity attribute is very easy to understand if you think about it.

Rather than fighting an assassin who is skilled at moving quickly, he chose to increase his Dexterity because he could rely on his flexibility with swordsmanship and improve his attack accuracy.

With the Battle Sense skill added, he would not be afraid of not being able to read an Assassin's quick movements.

'And for the last one...'

[You converted 120 kill points...]

[Congratulations! You gained an additional 1.2 Dark Mana attributes.]

[Dark Mana: 0.9.]

[Dark Mana: 2.1.]

'With this, it should be enough.'
