Chapter 179 - Chapter 180: Where Is God?

Chapter 180: Where Is God?

Godzilla whimpered weakly, watching helplessly as Chang Wei carved a large chunk of flesh from its body.

It wanted to fight back, but its feeble state left it powerless. All it could do was widen its eyes, memorizing Chang Wei's face.

After taking the flesh, Chang Wei left.

Shortly after, Dr. Serizawa entered alone, carrying a mini nuclear bomb.

Godzilla's lair was filled with radiation lethal to humans. While Chang Wei could ignore it, Dr. Serizawa was walking to his death.

But he had already made up his mind. Rather than fear, he felt content upon seeing Godzilla.

"Godzilla, it's so good to see you're still alive."

He placed the mini nuclear bomb on the ground and activated it. Once the countdown began, he approached Godzilla, reaching out to touch the giant creature for the first time.

The next moment, the nuclear explosion erupted, instantly vaporizing him.

---

Elsewhere, Chang Wei used a bit of thermal radiation to roast Godzilla's flesh.

Of course, given the terrifying adaptability of G-cells, even cooked meat wasn't entirely safe. But Chang Wei had no intention of completely killing off the G-cell activity. He sprinkled some cumin and other seasonings.

This was Godzilla's tenderloin—the equivalent of a cow's finest cut. It had to be delicious.

"I'm the first person to ever eat Godzilla meat."

He devoured it greedily.

In no time, over a ton of Godzilla meat had vanished into his stomach.

Then, he felt his Divine Light Virus stirring.

His stomach churned, reacting to what he had just consumed.

Although he retained a human physiology, Chang Wei believed that if he ever stopped seeing himself as human, he would eventually cease to be one.

No matter how much he evolved, he would preserve his human biology. After all, he could always "transform" when necessary.

Inside him, the Divine Light Virus and the G-cells clashed in a brutal battle. Since G-cells weren't a virus, his Super Virus System remained unresponsive. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been so anxious, fearing that he might not be able to digest the G-cells.

The Divine Light Virus devoured the G-cells, while the G-cells invaded the virus in return.

The agony was unbearable.

But Chang Wei didn't block the pain this time. He saw it as a way to temper his willpower.

Fighting Saitama had already pushed his pain tolerance to a new level.

Now, at least, he wouldn't be driven to the brink of surrender.

---

Outside—

Supercharged by a nuclear bomb, Godzilla was overflowing with energy, almost to the point of discomfort.

It had already been close to recovery, but with this sudden boost, it desperately needed to release its excess power.

And there was no better target than King Ghidorah.

Right on cue, the Monarch Organization's giant moth, Mothra, arrived.

Without Mothra, Godzilla couldn't achieve Burning Mode or maintain control. But in the original timeline, Ghidorah had vaporized Mothra—though she wouldn't truly die.

The absurdity of an atomic dinosaur and a giant moth being romantically linked enraged Ghidorah, the ultimate lone wolf.

"A beauty belongs only to the strong!"

Furious, it launched an attack on Godzilla.

---

"Dr. Serizawa did it! Godzilla is back! But where is 'God'?"

The Monarch Organization observed the newly revitalized Godzilla. It even seemed a little… plumper?

But despite the power-up, Godzilla still wasn't a match for Ghidorah.

The three-headed dragon mercilessly battered it with Gravity Beams, slamming it into the ground.

This was Legendary Ghidorah, the so-called "Monster Zero." It descended upon Earth from Venus in ancient times, a hostile alien species and an Alpha Titan. The arch-nemesis of Legendary Godzilla.

Long ago, it had battled Godzilla, Mothra, and other Titans. Defeated, it was sealed beneath the Antarctic ice, sleeping until now.

Ancient myths spoke of "a great dragon falling from the stars, a nine-headed storm devouring both humanity and the gods (Titans)." The ancients feared Ghidorah so much that they erased all records of it, as if trying to force it into oblivion.

Scans revealed that each of its three heads had different frontal lobe densities, indicating distinct levels of cognition—perhaps even independent thoughts. (In the movie, the three heads had different personalities, with the middle head as the dominant one.)

Its skin contained traces of gold, acting as a conductor for its internal bioelectricity.

Ghidorah's bioelectricity could be discharged as golden energy beams, known as Gravity Beams. These could not only destroy targets but also disable electronic systems.

It could absorb energy by biting into living creatures or power sources. In the movie, it drained an entire power plant in Boston before unleashing a massive area-wide Gravity Beam attack, wiping out aircraft, warships, and severely injuring Godzilla.

Its wings had incredible tensile strength. The sheer aerodynamic force generated during flight could create hurricanes. (In the movie, its arrival in Washington triggered a Category 6 hurricane, submerging the city.)

When combined with its bioelectricity, the water vapor in the air heated to extreme temperatures, creating its own localized storm system.

In short, if Ghidorah took flight again, the stratosphere would be torn apart by an otherworldly thunderstorm.

Humanity would be doomed.

---

This version of Legendary Ghidorah hadn't just absorbed Boston's power grid like in the film. It had drained multiple cities' power plants, pushing its strength to an unprecedented level—far beyond its movie counterpart.

Sensing a vague threat, Ghidorah instinctively reacted.

Even though it couldn't directly detect Chang Wei, its biological instincts picked up on subtle anomalies.

And so, it chose to further enhance itself in preparation for the unknown danger.

Unaware of this, Godzilla launched an attack—only to be instantly overpowered.

Ghidorah, now exponentially stronger, blasted Godzilla with Gravity Beams, grievously wounding it. Against an opponent that could manipulate gravity itself, Godzilla was utterly outmatched.

---

"Godzilla is no match!"

The Monarch personnel were in a panic. Only now did they grasp the vast gap between Godzilla and Ghidorah.

Only now did they understand why 'God' had yet to show himself.

But now that Godzilla had entered the battle, why was 'God' still absent?

If Godzilla fell, the world was doomed.

"God, please save us!"

"Kami-sama, where are you!!!"

As Godzilla lay battered and bloodied, Mothra hovered over it, scattering healing scales.
