Something that astonished Rojen happened. Acting purely on bodily instinct, he swung his sword, and an attack similar to Getsuga Tenshō actually formed.
The difference was that a true Getsuga Tenshō was composed of Reiatsu, while this strike of his was generated by magic power.
Yet its might was just as astonishing. The only drawback was that the consumption of magic power was terrifyingly high. With Rojen's current reserves, he wouldn't be able to unleash it many times.
"Whoosh!"
The cyan Getsuga Tenshō traced an arc through the air and slammed straight into the southeastern wall. In an instant, it carved open a massive breach.
The southeastern gate of Marine Headquarters was completely blown open.
A smile appeared on Rojen's face. In the distance, he could hear the sounds of battle between Golden Lion and the others. A decision was made instantly in his heart.
"There's nothing to hesitate about. I'll take this chance to head to the Celestial Dragons' palace and regroup with Jason and the others."
The Seven Stars hummed softly, rapidly enlarging as it hovered in front of Rojen. He leapt up and landed atop it.
Activating his Sword Manipulation Arts, Rojen's figure transformed into a streak of light, shooting through the blasted opening and vanishing in the blink of an eye.
…
Main Battlefield of Marine Headquarters.
Facing the combined assault of Garp and Sengoku, Golden Lion was forced to retreat continuously. He had already suffered several heavy injuries, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Either one of the two before him would be troublesome to face alone. Together, they were far more difficult to deal with.
"Golden Lion, surrender now! If you keep fighting, it won't do you any good!" Sengoku shouted.
His golden Buddha form was enormous, radiating overwhelming pressure. Standing before Golden Lion, he loomed from above, throwing punch after punch. Each strike produced a powerful Impact Wave that shattered the ground to pieces.
As for Garp, every punch and kick of his carried boundless force. Reinforced by Armament Haki, each blow made Golden Lion's pupils contract as his body rocked violently.
"You won't last much longer, Shiki!" Garp said coldly.
"Hahahahaha!"
Yet under their crushing pressure, Golden Lion showed neither fear nor panic. Instead, his body slowly rose into the air.
Hovering above them, he looked down at the two men below, his ears twitching slightly.
"Looks like that little fellow you sent out has failed as well! I'm really curious, what kind of person could cause your Marines to suffer such heavy losses?"
From the corner of his eye, he could see that the southeastern area had collapsed over a vast range. The thunderous noise that once shook the heavens had fallen silent moments ago.
More than a dozen breaths had passed since that area went quiet. The Marines hadn't moved, instead, they seemed even more cautious. That meant the Admiral-level fighter sent to confront the intruder had clearly been defeated.
Golden Lion's tone was mocking, hoping to see ugly expressions on the faces of the two below.
But to his disappointment, Sengoku and Garp didn't look upset at all. Their expressions had only grown colder.
"You want to know?" Garp said calmly. "Don't worry, he'll be meeting you very soon."
Garp stepped forward slowly. After three steps, his figure suddenly vanished.
The ground at his original position collapsed, cracks spreading outward as a vortex of air formed, followed by a thunderous boom as it caved in.
At the same time, Sengoku let out a loud shout. His golden body tensed, then shot into the sky. His right palm rose high as a transparent, spherical Impact Wave rapidly took shape.
The conditions of Kizaru and Kuzan weighed heavily on the hearts of these two veteran Marines.
If they represented the past of the Marines, then Kuzan and Kizaru represented the new generation of the Marines. In the future, they would assume roles equal to theirs, suppressing an entire era. This period would last at least twenty to thirty years.
They were the future of the Marines, a future the Marines could not afford to lose, nor could they bear such a catastrophic price.
As the two leapt into action, the pressure Golden Lion faced surged instantly.
His pupils shrank. He felt violent winds battering him from both front and back, a crushing pressure sweeping over him so heavily that his entire body trembled.
Facing 'two opponents at the peak of Admiral level, or even beyond Admiral-grade combat power,' he was still far from being their match.
"Slash Wave!"
Golden Lion swung both swords at once. In the next instant, two attacks slammed violently into his blades.
"Buzz!"
The void trembled. Twenty-five high-rise buildings around the three of them shattered instantly. They were first sliced cleanly across the waist, then struck by an immense force from the side, collapsing completely.
At the center, Golden Lion, under joint assault, went pale as blood burst from his mouth.
At this moment, the force he was enduring was simply too overwhelming.
"Impact Wave!"
"Hah!"
Sengoku and Garp, still in midair, launched another attack.
Golden Lion twisted his legs and roared loudly.
"Lion's Majesty --- Terrain Tornado!"
On the ground below, ominous beasts roared. Enormous lions appeared once again, swinging gigantic claws as they lunged toward the two men in the sky.
Dodging their attacks, Golden Lion retreated, yielding the battlefield to the massive lions below.
He gasped for breath, his eyes sharp, but his figure was already unstable, he had suffered severe injuries.
The next moment, his expression changed again.
Sengoku and Garp, facing the charging lions in midair, unleashed equally ferocious attacks.
"Shiki, give it up, resistance is useless!" Garp shouted as he slammed his fist downward.
"Rumble… Rumble… Rumble!"
In the sky, the lion that had leapt up from the ground was struck by that punch and let out a miserable howl before being completely shattered. At the same time, Sengoku's Impact Wave struck another lion, annihilating it just as quickly.
After destroying this wave of attacks, the two lost their foothold in the air and slowly descended, yet both of them turned their gaze toward the southeastern corner.
"That kid went to the Celestial Dragons' palace."
"He's going to rescue that little girl from the Ilinulay Family."
"First, deal with Golden Lion. After we take him down, we'll go arrest that kid!"
After landing, Garp and Sengoku exchanged words rapidly.
"Heh heh… I wonder what kind of mess that kid is going to cause this time. The Celestial Dragons are in for a real headache," Garp said, picking his nose with schadenfreude.
"Enough nonsense. Hurry up and finish Shiki!" Sengoku shot him a glare.
They then turned their attention back to the sky, locking onto that lone figure above.
Golden Lion took several deep breaths and swept his gaze across the battlefield below. When he saw that his forces were nearly wiped out, and that even his cadres had suffered devastating losses under that magma brat's attacks, towering rage surged in his heart.
"Marines! Even if I lose everything, I won't let you have it easy! Get ready to change your Marine base!"
His feet moved, and he flew swiftly before landing on the ground.
He suddenly closed his eyes. Golden Lion's entire body began to tremble violently.
"What is he going to do?"
A strong sense of foreboding suddenly surged in Sengoku's heart, making it pound violently.
