Faced with this sudden situation, Nagato was only surprised for a brief moment.
Creating the Six Paths of Pain wasn't complicated, and he still had plenty of spare corpses.
Through the Animal Path's eyes, he observed the battlefield situation.
Jiraiya-sensei and that old bastard with unfathomable strength—both were quite troublesome opponents, but Nagato didn't care.
He was very confident in his own power. The strength of the Rinnegan wasn't something humans could match.
So he decided to deploy all Six Paths of Pain and teach these remnants of the old era a lesson.
As for whether this lesson would cost them their lives—that wasn't within his scope of concern.
Six Paths of Pain, prepare for battle!
...
In the alley, the battle continued...
Gamaken's advantages were fully displayed now.
Compared to Gamabunta, Ken's sustained combat ability was far superior. He might not be the strongest fighter, but when it came to endurance, this guy was quite capable.
Raising his spiked double-headed staff like a cleaver, he swung it out and instantly split the viciously charging hellhound in two.
As the two sides crossed paths, the hellhound crashed heavily to the ground, smashing countless buildings.
Seeing this, the Animal Path in the distance formed seals again.
The next second, accompanied by a series of white smoke explosions, a massive rhinoceros and a Yatagarasu appeared out of nowhere.
At the same time, a bizarrely-shaped lizard appeared and extended its tongue to roll the Animal Path inside.
Seeing this scene, Jiraiya's brow immediately furrowed.
But before he could do anything, Gamaken's muffled grunt suddenly rang out.
Jiraiya quickly turned around to see two slightly smaller hellhounds biting tightly onto Gamaken's back and his right arm holding the staff.
Gamaken wasn't about to back down either. His shield swung out forcefully, heavily knocking away the hellhound biting his arm.
Up front, the rhinoceros began charging, taking earth-shaking steps toward Jiraiya.
Meanwhile, the Yatagarasu quickly took flight, arriving first despite launching later, its sharp beak diving toward Rinjin.
"Flying-type attacking Thunder/Steel-type—are you brain-dead?!"
Muttering quietly, Rinjin slightly sidestepped and casually bent his right arm, swinging it out lightly as if strolling through a courtyard.
"BOOM!" A tremendous crash.
The ground beneath Rinjin's feet cracked inch by inch.
The Yatagarasu flew back in the direction it came from at an even faster speed, its metallic-gleaming beak exploding into countless fragments.
In the distance, the Animal Path hiding in the invisible chameleon's belly couldn't help but shrink his pupils.
Rinjin—what a damn pain in the ass!
At the same time, Jiraiya, under attack from multiple directions, couldn't hold back anymore. He brought his hands together and began preparing his ultimate technique.
This major battle was unavoidable today!
Quickly assessing the battlefield situation, Jiraiya shouted to Rinjin:
"Rinjin, buy me some time!"
"No problem~" Making an OK gesture, Rinjin formed a one-handed seal and instantly appeared on Gamaken's head.
"You get back there!"
Pushing Jiraiya aside, Rinjin crouched down and patted Gamaken's forehead.
"Ken, we're teaming up now. You handle the jumping, I'll handle the damage output!"
"Got it, Boss Rinjin!" Gamaken nodded cheerfully.
Although this guy on his head hadn't signed a summoning contract with Mount Myōboku, he had a good relationship with the two Great Sage Toads in the village, and by extension, all the frogs got along well with him.
Seeing Gamaken being obedient, Rinjin nodded with satisfaction and began giving orders boldly.
"Ken, jump backward and create some distance."
Hearing this, Gamaken immediately swung his staff to drive back the hellhounds and forcefully pushed off with his legs.
At the same time, Rinjin reached to his waist and pulled out a palm-sized storage scroll marked "Unit 4" from his scroll belt.
"After researching this for so many years, it's time to bring it out for real combat!"
With that, Rinjin ripped open the scroll with a sharp tear.
The next second, continuous white smoke exploded on Gamaken's head.
In the distance, Nagato, seeing the items in the white smoke through the Animal Path's eyes, immediately frowned.
Around Rinjin, oddly-shaped pitch-black components scattered messily on the ground.
Round hollow tubes, black boxes of unknown purpose, strange objects wrapped with coils of yellow metal...
Looking at these components scattered on the ground, Rinjin slowly curved his lips into a smile under Jiraiya's puzzled gaze.
Then, his body began glowing with waves of blinding blue electrical energy.
"Ready to welcome the future?"
With a low whisper, the blue electrical energy on Rinjin's body seemed to have its own consciousness as it suddenly connected to the components on the ground.
The next second, under magnetic control, the components shot toward Rinjin at the center of the magnetic field at extreme speed.
Under Jiraiya's increasingly astonished gaze, the pitch-black components attached to Rinjin's body and rapidly assembled.
Then, a terrifying weapon gleaming with blue electrical energy appeared complete before Jiraiya's eyes.
The thing looked overall like a heavy, angular vest covering Rinjin's upper body.
On the back section, two menacing cannon barrels—one long, one short—connected by mechanical levers pointed brazenly at the sky.
Below the cannon barrels were two trumpet-shaped small cones pointing downward.
Just as this strange vest finished assembling, Rinjin looked at the summoning beasts in the distance with gleaming eyes and broke into an excited smile.
"Little guys, welcome your glorious evolution!"
After the silent roar, chakra from within Rinjin's body began powerful, continuous output.
On the high-tech backpack, accompanied by increasingly piercing humming sounds, nodes lit up one by one.
Inside, tremendous electrical power was injected, and the thick coils began performing their intended function.
Magnetic force was gathering...
And this powerful magnetic force would ultimately transform into tremendous kinetic energy for metal spike projectiles.
The mechanical levers behind him began rotating, and the two square cannon barrels pointing at the sky slowly tilted forward, settling heavily on Rinjin's shoulders.
Then, the deep, dark cannon muzzles slowly lit up with azure fluorescence.
Three seconds later, a flat, cold electronic voice rang out on Gamaken's head.
"Charging complete!"
Seeing this, Rinjin's lips slowly curved into a smile.
"Mechanical force continues—prepare to welcome the storm of metal! Fire!"
With a great shout, metal magnetic spike projectiles shot from the cannon barrels at an extremely terrifying initial velocity, tracing blue, lightning-like trajectories.
In less than a thousandth of a second, the bullets struck the rhinoceros's head in the distance.
Accompanied by piercing sonic boom sounds, the rhinoceros's head instantly exploded into fragments, gray and white matter scattering everywhere.
Seeing this terrifying effect, Jiraiya was dumbfounded.
What the hell kind of thing was this?!
Was this still the ninja world he knew?!
But this was understandable—he'd never seen something like a Gauss rifle before. After all:
The age of ninjas has ended~
