Draco Malfoy had become the center of attention for the entire club.
Their great cause had suffered repeated setbacks under the professors' relentless crackdown. First, they lost the right to play video games, and then their base of operations was seized. But this did not mean the flame in their hearts had been extinguished.
As the saying goes, "A wildfire cannot destroy the grass; it grows again with the spring breeze."
Draco was not the only one with such resolve.
Thanks to Jane Yu's contribution of Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, the warriors gathered once more for a meeting.
The main agenda was to commend Draco Malfoy, an outstanding member, for his courage and dedication in safeguarding the club's communal assets. At the same time, they planned to launch a guerrilla campaign to scout a new location for "Club 2.0."
Though they had to endure Moaning Myrtle's occasional splashes of toilet water and her rather twisted aesthetic—such as toilets in clashing red and green, or in "black so colorful it dazzles," transparent walls, and toilet paper interwoven with gold and silver—their pursuit of the great gaming cause made them forget how harsh the environment was. It also made them forget that Sirius Black might still be wandering the castle.
Draco began recounting his three-day vigil outside the headmaster's office. He teased his audience, keeping them in suspense until everyone was on edge with anticipation, before finally placing a bag filled with gaming consoles before them.
The bathroom erupted into cheers; every member couldn't help but scream in excitement. Upperclassmen rushed forward, hoisting Draco into the air and tossing him up in celebration of this huge victory—
"19 consoles! That's practically all of the club's assets!"
"Our Galleons weren't wasted; there's hope for us yet!"
Terry Boot, a donor from Ravenclaw, was overjoyed. He found the console he had donated and hugged it to his chest with a blissful expression. Susan Bones, the round-faced Hufflepuff, also beamed with excitement, repeatedly thanking Draco for his efforts.
"Merlin's underpants—this is on par with the Founders defending Hogwarts!"
Seamus Finnigan from Gryffindor couldn't help but exclaim. Even his roommate Ron couldn't bring himself to say, "I could've done that too." His face twisted in frustration, and he could only snort through his nose as a sign of respect.
Even the Weasley twins, who rarely had anything good to say about a Malfoy, were impressed. They shoved a bronze medal engraved with "Protector of Gaming Consoles" into Draco's hands, completely ignoring his gagging and stomping.
Even Harry secretly admired such a feat. He even felt that the title of "Savior" should be bestowed upon Malfoy instead of him.
He thought he understood now.
It was all because Malfoy had spent too much time with Jane Yu. That was why he had turned into such a saintly figure.
After all, it was Jane Yu—anyone, no matter how vile, would find their soul purified and their character elevated after being around her.
Once again, Harry lamented in his heart why she wasn't a Gryffindor.
By the time the upperclassmen finally set Draco down, his hair and clothes were a mess. While shouting, "Are you guys crazy?" he hid behind Jane Yu, but the upward curl of his lips betrayed his good mood.
This was wholehearted admiration from his sworn enemies—he was truly amazing!
Of course, he owed it all to Jane Yu's encouragement and support—
Without her, he wouldn't have achieved today's success!
...
The meeting soon moved on to the next agenda item: discussing the new location for the club.
But on this issue, the factions were at an impasse.
Students from each house wanted the location to be closer to their own common rooms for easier nighttime access.
Each faction tried their best to persuade the others—
Slytherin's representative, Draco Malfoy, argued that reclaiming 19 gaming consoles from the professors was a monumental achievement and a great contribution to the club. Slytherin deserved the right to decide the location so they wouldn't have to climb from the Black Lake all the way to the top of the castle.
Hufflepuff agreed, as their common room was also located low in the castle. Their representative offered the school's kitchen as a bargaining chip in exchange for the right to decide the location.
But their proposal was quickly countered by Ravenclaw and Gryffindor.
Ravenclaw pointed out that their tower was naturally at odds with Slytherin and Hufflepuff due to its height. However, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor shared a similar geographical position, and the two houses should form a united front.
Gryffindor's representative, Harry Potter, praised Ravenclaw's objective and fair stance on the location issue and their efforts to resolve it. He also pointed out that he had been under strict surveillance by the professors due to the Sirius Black incident and had barely managed to attend the meeting. If the club's location wasn't near Gryffindor Tower, he might never get to play video games in his lifetime. Moreover, he had been foretold of a death omen by Trelawney...
The famous Gryffindor representative practically poured his heart out, asking the others:
"Are you really going to let me die without ever playing a video game?"
This heartfelt speech successfully moved the kind-hearted Hufflepuff representative, who then turned to persuade Slytherin's representative:
"Come on, let's just give in. Poor Harry's had it rough. We can't let him die without playing a game!"
This left Draco Malfoy fuming. He hadn't expected his ally to switch sides so quickly.
He had no choice but to call upon the club's honorary chairperson, Jane Yu, to mediate.
But before she could speak, Harry threw the question to her—
"I think Jane should decide the location. What do you all think?"
Draco glared at him in fury. That was his line! How dare this scarhead steal it!
For a moment, everyone agreed. The Weasley twins even offered to provide Jane with a fantastic tool to help decide the location. Unfortunately, the tool was buried in their belongings, and they needed time to find it.
The meeting ended in a noisy uproar. Members actively and thoroughly exchanged opinions on the location issue. They resolved to maintain close communication and coordination across various platforms such as bathrooms and abandoned classrooms in the future, striving to advance the gaming cause and resist the professors' confiscations.
