Chapter 303 - HP: The Stellar Witch [OFC]-Chapter 303

The potion Lys submitted still had very obvious flaws.

But regardless of its appearance, it was still a successfully brewed potion, so she could wait in the venue until the assessment results were announced after everyone finished brewing.

Lys floated Fry whilst studying the lunar calendar, feeling somewhat worried about Noah.

But before leaving, Lys had placed protective measures in every corner of the house—even under the floorboards and on the roof. Never mind that Noah's lower limbs remained vulnerable even after transforming into a werewolf; even if they threw Lupin from that year when he'd taken the potion into Lys's house, he wouldn't be able to get out.

But worry was worry, and Lys couldn't control it.

Before Senna emerged, Lys first spotted Snape. After observing her surroundings, Lys floated in the air holding Fry and drifted over to Snape's side.

"Severus!" Lys called out quietly.

Snape's expression, upon recognising who it was, showed a hint of disgusted distortion beneath his sombre demeanour. Lys didn't mind—after all, she had been the one to say she wouldn't defile potions after graduation. She dispersed the flying arrow around Fry and held him in her arms.

Glancing once more at their surroundings, she flicked her wand tip to block outsiders' perception of them both.

"Although Potter's death doesn't affect me much, I'm still sorry about Lily Evans." Lys's first sentence made Snape's breathing grow heavy.

He stood up trying to leave, but was pulled back by Lys's brute force. "Lucius said you went with Dumbledore."

Lys had many questions now, but she actually had the answers in her heart. So she simply looked into Snape's eyes and said one sentence: "He won't die."

This sentence was spoken to Snape of the Death Eater camp, and also to Snape of Dumbledore's camp.

And even more so to Snape, whom Lys had known for over eight years.

Facing the shocked Snape, Lys released her grip on his hand.

Lys watched Snape leave with an unreadable expression, then hugged her little brother closer, unconsciously murmuring in a low voice: "If one day he really comes back, and I'm still the way I am now, this family might have to depend on you. You need to grow up quickly."

Finally, she touched the scar on her fingertip. "I'm sorry for naming you Freedom and then making demands of you... just pretend you didn't hear that."

But the little creature was still clutching his Pygmy Puff whilst chewing on his teething stick, curled up like a ball resembling a large dumpling. Even if he had heard, it wouldn't have made any difference.

Lys opened the book in her hands and continued reading, as if the emotional turmoil in her heart had never occurred.

When Senna emerged from the underground several days later, her expression was triumphant, as if the title was already in her grasp.

She rarely shared with Lys the problems she encountered during brewing and the potential benefits of her exceptional performance.

Lys also happily agreed along. There were only three days left until the assessment results, and Lucy in Germany had also sent word that Noah had no problems during the full moon period.

So the two weren't in a hurry to return home to wait for letters, deciding to wait until everyone finished brewing to hear the results announced in person.

Senna's excited mood lasted until the day before the announcement. When staff notified them that the last contestant had finished brewing and results would be assessed and announced on-site the following day, that excited mood seemed suddenly stripped away. Senna's complexion didn't look good, and she stopped talking.

Lys could only carefully carry Fry away, sitting on another bench at a slight distance from Mother, preventing Fry from annoying Mother by trying to wipe his teething stick dry on Senna.

That night Senna didn't even sleep. She felt doubtful about herself.

She had wasted nearly twenty years—was she really still the potion genius she once thought herself to be...

Sitting at the announcement venue, several advertising boards floated behind the person loudly announcing the results. Lys even spotted a recruitment notice with distinctly Malfoy characteristics.

It seemed her senior's various businesses were recovering quite well.

The grade assessment was announced from low to high. Each time a junior potioneer was announced, that wizard would send their magical mark from the list into the air to prevent any confusion due to various misunderstandings.

After the junior potioneers were announced, Lys perked up slightly, because the next batch would be intermediate potioneers, and Lys believed she would be in this batch.

Sure enough, Lys's name and magical mark were prominently among them. Lys floated Fry over to have him grab her certification.

The staff member gently poked the Pygmy Puff in Fry's hands and made a face at him. Fry was so amused that his "gaga" laughter echoed throughout the venue through the staff member's amplification magic.

Lys also laughed along, her chubby cheeks making her look adorably naive, causing great misconceptions among the onlookers.

Snape also looked up at the black-haired child. He forced himself to move his gaze away from that black head of hair. The time he'd agreed upon with Dumbledore was approaching—he needed to return to Hogwarts quickly.

He lowered his brows and eyes, waiting until the staff member handed over the useless certificate with both hands, then quickly left the venue.
