Chapter 350 - HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle-Chapter 79: Sneaking Out

It's hard to say whether this was turning grief and anger into motivation or turning motivation into grief and anger, but in any case, after confirming that the target was to bring Sirius Black to justice, Hermione's spirits recovered.

Which was a good thing.

As for Sirius Black?

Not familiar, really not familiar.

After Hermione rallied her spirits, she threw herself wholeheartedly into tracking Sirius Black's trail. But just as she was preparing to show her skills, the young wizards from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff also arrived at the scene.

Dumbledore also appeared at the staff table in the Great Hall. He looked quite serious, and seeing that all Hogwarts personnel had arrived in the hall without exception, he nodded and cast his azure gaze through his half-moon spectacles toward everyone present.

"There's been a small incident in the castle. For this reason, the staff and I will conduct a thorough search of Hogwarts Castle."

From the staff table, Dumbledore spoke, announcing to everyone what would happen next.

As Dumbledore spoke, Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick silently waved their wands, magically closing all the doors to the Great Hall and casting some defensive charms on them.

"This means they're gathering the young wizards for protection. Looks like everyone will have to sleep in the Great Hall tonight."

With everyone assembled, Glenn and Hermione temporarily paused their activities and revealed themselves, blending back into their respective house groups. However, their headsets remained on, and the two continued chatting about the situation.

Sure enough, Dumbledore continued:

"For your own safety, I'm afraid you'll have to spend the night here in the Great Hall. I require the prefects to stand guard at the Great Hall entrances, and the Head Boy and Head Girl to remain in the hall for supervision. If anything happens or there's any disturbance, report to me immediately."

Then he looked at Percy Weasley and added:

"Just have a ghost deliver the message to me."

Percy seemed excited and happy about receiving Dumbledore's trust, his face flushed red as he nodded vigorously. By the looks of it, there was no need to worry about him falling asleep—though it was unclear how long this excitement would last.

Dumbledore nodded at him, turned to leave the Great Hall, then turned back and called out:

"I suppose you'll probably need..."

Dumbledore casually waved his right hand, and invisible magic instantly separated the long tables in the center of the Great Hall, arranging them neatly against the walls.

With another snap of his fingers, several hundred purple sleeping bags appeared on the empty floor of the Great Hall. While the purple color might have been a personal touch, you couldn't deny that conjuring so many sleeping bags out of thin air brought a unique sense of impact and beauty.

"Well then, sleep well everyone. Good night."

Dumbledore said this, then left, naturally not forgetting to close the door behind him.

As soon as the Great Hall doors closed, the hall erupted with intense and excited chatter from the young wizards. The other three houses, unclear about what had happened, began questioning the Gryffindor students for information.

However, these matters were destined to have nothing to do with Glenn and Hermione.

"It seems you two have discovered something interesting."

Dumbledore walked forward a few steps, then stopped, slightly turning his head to look at the air behind and to his side, speaking thus.

"Yes."

"To be precise, it's a method that can quickly achieve everyone's goal."

Glenn and Hermione's figures slowly materialized in the air. After returning to their groups and hearing Dumbledore prepare to lock everyone up for protection, they had once again cast concealment charms and met in the center of the Great Hall, slipping out just before Dumbledore closed the doors.

Just as Glenn could now barely see through Dumbledore'sDisillusionment Charm, Dumbledore could see through the Disillusionment CharmsGlenn and Hermione had cast on themselves—only his vision would be clearer.

Glenn didn't expect his little tricks to fool Dumbledore's eyes at this stage.

"A method that can quickly achieve everyone's goal... So, what is it?"

"Professor Dumbledore, have you forgotten what we've been doing all this time?"

Facing Dumbledore's inquiry, Hermione blinked, then first pulled out a surveillance terminal from her sleeve.

"We spent a long time covering all of Hogwarts' classrooms, main roads, passages, and secret passages with surveillance cameras without any blind spots."

As an advanced figure in the wizarding world, Dumbledore naturally enjoyed studying and observing the thing called "surveillance" that Glenn had created. By switching surveillance from different locations or adjusting surveillance camera angles, he could substitute his own eyes to see things at different times and places.

All of this made the old bee feel magical.

"Of course, I won't forget. But regarding this surveillance terminal, successfully operating it is still too complex and difficult for an older gentleman."

"Don't worry, Professor Dumbledore. Watch our operations more and practice hands-on—I believe you'll get the hang of it quickly."

Then Hermione waved her hand, beckoning Glenn, who was carefully observing the surveillance terminal, to come forward.

Glenn understood, took the surveillance terminal and walked to Hermione's side, raising his arm to show the screen side to Dumbledore.

"Through surveillance footage playback, we successfully discovered Sirius Black's movement trajectory and his little secret that allows him to easily evade Ministry of Magic pursuit."

"Professor Dumbledore, you might not know that Sirius is actually an illegal Animagus."

Speaking of this, Hermione cleared her throat lightly. Glenn immediately swiped the surveillance terminal and played the footage of Sirius Black transforming.

"Oh, this is truly astonishing—Sirius is actually an illegal Animagus."

Dumbledore adjusted his slipping glasses, frowned, then relaxed again. It was unclear whether he was shocked by the news about Sirius or praising Glenn's surveillance network system and their precise operation.

"So, what we need to do next is use the surveillance footage obtained from the surveillance system now deployed throughout Hogwarts to determine where exactly Sirius Black will run during his escape—whether he'll flee Hogwarts or stay in Hogwarts... No matter what he does, we can use this as guidance to find him and subdue him."
