Protecting his head with both hands, Glenn was blown sideways by the spell's impact, retreating to the side. Landing, Glenn crouched and touched the ground with his left hand. Alchemical circles flickered—through the smoke and dust, several stone pillars suddenly rose. Glenn stepped onto one pillar and ascended upward.
Where Snape had been standing was now in ruins. The stone wall Hermione had erected was completely shattered, leaving only broken remnants. Snape's figure had also vanished into thin air.
"Hypersense."
Supporting himself with one hand, Glenn activated Hypersense. Boundless perception spread outward from him in all directions. Ground vibrations conducted through the stone walls to his hand—Glenn clearly discerned Hermione's movements. And beneath the pillars, another disturbance: running sounds, breathing sounds, heartbeat sounds. Glenn locked onto the invisible Snape.
"Confringo."
Glenn stood up, directly becoming an artillery platform. Where his wand pointed, Blasting Curses exploded. Snape, currently invisible, was forced to abandon his concealment, dodging left and right, using Ground-Shaking Charms to move quickly while casting counter-curses to neutralize Glenn'sBlasting Curses, weaving through the explosions.
Seeing Snape unaffected by his attacks, Glenn immediately entered demonization, charging sideways. Where he had stood was corroded by a pool of Venom, making terrifying hissing sounds while dark purple mist rose.
"Tch."
Snape clicked his tongue in annoyance seeing Glenn enter demonization. This form Glenn was in was truly troublesome—immune to all physical attacks while greatly reducing the impact of spells hitting him. Simply cheating.
So he unhesitatingly switched targets, choosing Hermione, who was moving behind the stone wall doing something unknown.
Changing direction, Snape charged toward Hermione's position, his wand already gathering spells, raising his hand to cast them.
"Sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle!!"
The multicolored spells hadn't even approached Hermione before hitting a translucent barrier. The Protego TotalumHermione had set up in advance served its purpose, but Hermione inside the barrier was already sweating profusely. The Protego Totalum that should have lasted much longer was nearly falling apart after just a few hits from Snape's spells. Heaven knew how ruthlessly Snape was attacking.
Fortunately, Glenn had arrived on scene. Black-red irregular matter suddenly crashed down, stopping Snape's advance and blocking the incoming spells. Glenn swung his arm, exiting demonization and leaping into the opening Hermione had created in the Protego Totalum to receive him. The Obscurus outside, unable to be recalled in time, exploded directly toward Snape's direction.
"Ventus Tota!"
Snape stepped forward. With each step, his wrist guided his wand in sweeping motions. Fierce winds spread along his wand's direction, scattering the incoming black-red matter in all directions. Snape advanced toward Glenn and Hermione against the Obscurus.
Without warning, the ground began to tremble, nearly causing Snape to lose his footing. He swayed, then immediately increased his magical output, instantly dispersing the black-red matter blocking his vision.
Then he froze.
Also freezing were Professor Flitwick and Dumbledore below.
"My goodness."
Professor Flitwick's eyes went wide, muttering in disbelief.
As for Professor McGonagall?
She had stood up, her eyes filled with incredulity and indescribable excitement.
A massive rock golem torso, at least forty feet tall, appeared through the smoke. Its hands pressed forcefully against the ground, lifting its enormous upper body from the floor. The rock golem's eyes blazed with red light as it roared furiously at Snape below.
Then the colossal creature raised one palm and immediately struck down with devastating force at Snape's position!
"BOOM!"
The classroom floor nearly cracked open. Layers of rock jutted up around where the rock golem's palm struck, and powerful shockwaves hit Snape's face as he dodged the attack. Stone fragments cut bloody streaks across his cheeks.
"Heh heh heh... Hahahahaha!"
Atop the giant stone golem, Hermione's figure appeared. Hands on her hips, she laughed like a supervillain, then pointed dramatically at Snape.
"Surrender, Professor Snape! You wouldn't want to be flattened into a pancake by my big stone guardian, would you!"
Facing Hermione's provocation, Snape's expression showed no wavering. He raised his hand and cast a Reductor Curse at the giant stone golem's extended hand.
White light struck its arm directly, but only made the giant stone golem's hand lose a layer of surface stone.
Failed to penetrate enemy armor.
"Useless, useless! This is the ultimate technique Glenn and I have been perfecting for ages. The golem's structure was meticulously designed by both of us, piece by piece. A mere Reductor Curse won't even scratch it!"
Hermione wagged her finger, radiating confidence in the golem beneath her. Seeing Snape still preparing to attack, the girl wasn't surprised and immediately began manipulating the golem offensively.
She simply didn't retract the extended hand, using that arm as a pivot point while commanding the giant stone golem to deliver a devastating punch at Snape!
The tremendous force of the punch, accompanied by the rock giant's fist, thundered toward Snape with unstoppable momentum. Snape slightly raised his head, spinning his wand while chanting an incantation.
"Fiendfyre."
The moment the word left his lips, searing heat waves erupted outward. A massive flame beast burst from Snape's wand—a Fiendfyre serpent!
The Fiendfyre serpent, capable of consuming all in its path, hissed once before tearing open its blazing maw and lunging at the incoming fist, as if to devour it whole.
Just as the giant stone golem's fist was about to be consumed by Fiendfyre, that massive arm suddenly detonated.
"What—?"
Snape's pupils contracted sharply. His Fiendfyre vanished without a trace along with the stone giant's exploding arm, the cursed flames extinguished by the Obscurus energy that had been hidden within.
A black shadow burst through the smoke, dust, and dissipating heat waves, appearing before Snape in a heartbeat—it was Glenn, who had been concealed within the giant stone golem's hand all along.
Suspended in mid-air, Glenn spread both arms wide, his voice cutting through the chaos.
"Alchemy—Spear Formation."
Alchemical circles blazed to life, racing across the countless stone fragments around him. The debris transmuted and reshaped itself mid-flight, becoming a deadly rain of razor-sharp stone spears that plummeted toward Snape with lethal precision.
Simultaneously, Glenn's eyes flashed crimson as his Magic Eye activated, the power rippling outward to disrupt any defensive spells Snape might attempt.
"Checkmate."
The words rang with finality.
Then Snape's figure disappeared beneath the crushing avalanche of stone spears.
