Chapter 436 - HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle,-Chapter 164: Suppression

The dark wizards weren't deaf—they'd naturally heard the chaos Feng Lian had unleashed after his teleportation.

So when the trio advanced toward Feng Lian's indicated location, they collided head-on with a massive search party of black-robed figures.

"Open fire."

Without preamble, Glenn issued the command. Having witnessed the earlier carnage, Hermione no longer harbored mercy—especially toward these very perpetrators who had imprisoned and brutalized the magical creatures. Dispatching them to hell for atonement was the only righteous course.

Two assault rifles blazed simultaneously in the unobstructed corridor. Gunfire, ejecting brass, the metallic percussion of spent rounds striking stone—all reverberated through the confined space as acrid cordite smoke billowed forth.

No screams emerged—dark wizards taking direct headshots simply toppled forward with their weapons, collapsing to their knees. The surviving enemies produced only panicked bellows, shouting for rear companions to raise defensive weapons and retreat.

"Magnificent! Are those firearms?"

Feng Lian studied the HK416 assault rifles in Glenn and Hermione's grips with rapt fascination. Yet even as he spoke, his massive halberd hammered the ground repeatedly, radiating pure impatience.

"They're blocking vitals with weapons—your efficiency is abysmal! Cease fire and let me handle this!"

"Proceed."

Thirty rounds of 5.56mm ammunition expended, Glenn extracted a fresh magazine for rapid reloading while addressing the bloodthirsty Feng Lian, who could no longer contain his battle-lust.

The instant those words escaped, Glenn felt savage wind rush past. Feng Lian's halberd-wielding form had already rocketed forward, running diagonally up the passage wall to intercept the dark wizards retreating toward open terrain in mere strides.

"Taste my blade!"

Wild laughter erupted as his right arm muscles coiled like steel cables. The heavy halberd carved a midnight arc, crashing down upon a dark wizard who'd turned to parry with his weapon.

Then bisected him at the waist. Dark steel birthed crimson spray, painting passage walls in arterial scarlet.

"Hahahaha! Utterly pathetic! Next victim!"

Feng Lian's silhouette vanished around the corner. Only the symphony of clashing steel and rending flesh reached Glenn and Hermione's ears.

"We advance. Leave these dark wizards to him—we'll circumvent and locate their imprisoned magical creatures."

Stepping briskly forward, Glenn casually delivered a mercy round to a dark wizard bisected at the waist but still crawling with grim determination. He addressed the shell-shocked Hermione behind him.

"...Inconceivable. That man's a living weapon, isn't he? Wielding such massive armament, relying on pure physical might to cleave person and weapon alike?"

Hermione caught up, assisting with finishing strikes on Feng Lian's victims while speaking with numb wonderment.

"The world harbors countless extraordinary individuals."

"The old saying—'big forest, all kinds of birds'?"

"Essentially, yes."

They sprinted through passages until reaching the junction's open chamber. There they witnessed dark wizards encircling Feng Lian like raid bosses, coordinating group assault tactics.

"Two easier targets over there—eliminate them first!"

Glenn and Hermione's emergence naturally drew hostile attention. One dark wizard gestured decisively, withdrawing from Feng Lian's encirclement to charge the newcomers with drawn blade.

Another possessed keen hearing and extensive experience—he'd detected gunfire within the passages. Now observing these children emerge wielding assault rifles, recognition dawned instantly. He chose vocal warning, hoping to enlighten companions ignorant of changing times.

"Fools! They carry firearms! Take cover—"

"Excessive chatter!"

The halberd's sweep sent a severed head spiraling skyward in crimson fountain. The warning died with its speaker as Feng Lian carved through the crowd with reckless abandon, utterly disregarding personal injury. His massive weapon harvested lives wherever it struck—truly embodying the spirit of one warrior against ten thousand.

Glenn and Hermione withheld fire since Feng Lian remained embedded within enemy ranks. Mobile shooting risked friendly fire incidents, and numerous opponents had raised defensive weapons following that truncated warning—firearms couldn't achieve optimal effectiveness under such circumstances.

Moreover, neither intended prolonged engagement with these dark wizards.

Therefore Glenn produced two flashbang grenades, pulled pins, and hurled them into the crowd nearest their position.

Tremendous sonic assault echoed through the spacious chamber. Blazing white radiance blinded those who'd reflexively observed the incoming projectiles. Glenn and Hermione, having anticipated this, remained unaffected and rapidly evacuated.

"Er... did I just hear Feng Lian screaming?"

Charging into the passage, Hermione glanced back uncertainly.

"Absolute confidence warranted—he definitely screamed."

Glenn responded with characteristic calm.

"However, his gaze wasn't directed toward the flashbang's detonation point. Given his physical conditioning, he'll experience minor disorientation—nothing serious."

"Ah... understood."

After silently mourning Feng Lian's collateral suffering for precisely half a second, Hermione focused ahead. Her ears twitched—footsteps approached.

"Hermione, halt. Cover your ears and drop beside me."

Glenn reached within his robes, extracting four fragmentation grenades.

With no friendly forces ahead, explosive ordnance represented optimal lethality within such confined architecture.

Pins yanked instantly, Glenn hurled all four grenades beyond forty meters. The projectiles slid along the passage's curved walls into forward corridors. Glenn immediately prostrated himself, shielding Hermione.

BOOM!

Catastrophic detonation erupted immediately. Fire blazed brilliant then vanished. Overlapping explosions shook the entire passage structure. Following the blast, metallic fragments striking walls—embedding or ricocheting to clatter groundward—rang crystal-clear.

The urgent footfalls ahead ceased entirely. Deathly silence reclaimed the passage.

Then Glenn emotionlessly produced another fragmentation grenade and lobbed it forward. He possessed abundant ordinance—one additional insurance round against survivors cost nothing.

Secondary explosion thundered. When echoes faded, Glenn rose, hauled Hermione upright, and spearheaded their advance with weapon ready.

The blast epicenter had become earthly purgatory. Dark wizards shredded by shrapnel and concussive force lay heaped together, viscera mingling with blood and debris across stone floors. Glenn strolled leisurely through the carnage, delivering precision headshots to anyone retaining intact cranial architecture.

Thoroughly professional execution.
