Chapter 439 - HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle-Chapter 167: Don't Copy

"Alohomora."

The last lock hanging on the final cage clicked open under Hermione's unlocking charm. The little witch removed the lock and tossed it aside. The wounded magical creature inside limped out cautiously, lowering its head to sniff Hermione's scent before affectionately nuzzling her cheek with its furry head.

All things have spirits, and magical creatures even more so—they knew exactly who had saved them.

After Hermione released the magical creatures, the enraged beasts swept through the entire cave, eliminating every dark sorcerer inside. Glenn found himself with nothing to do, so he casually destroyed the anti-magic formation maintenance devices in the area, allowing them to cast magic again. Now Glenn was following Hermione's wishes, pulling out bottle after bottle of various healing potions and arranging them on the ground, trying to get these injured magical creatures to accept his treatment.

However, while the magical creatures could let down their guard and approach the benefactor Hermione, who radiated a comforting aura, they were much more wary of their other great benefactor—this one whose restrained but violent killing intent gave them an overwhelming sense of danger.

Glenn picked up a healing potion. After attempting to explain the potion's effects through words and gestures proved fruitless, he decided to use the most straightforward method to convey his message.

So Glenn used magic to clean the dirt from his arm, then pulled out a dagger, cleaned it, and cast a flame charm to sterilize it. Then he drew it across his exposed wrist artery.

The magical creatures: !

"Whoosh!"

Blood sprayed from Glenn's wrist in a beautiful fountain arc.

"Apply it to wounds like this..." Glenn murmured to the row of magical creatures sitting before him, holding up the potion and pouring some onto his wound.

The bleeding gradually stopped, and the dagger cut began healing at a visible rate.

Glenn set the bottle aside, then cleanly reopened the freshly healed wound with his dagger.

"Whoosh!"

The magical creatures: !!

"This bottle is for internal use—it can also treat your internal injuries... Well, you probably don't understand what internal injuries are, but just know that drinking this potion will heal your wounds."

Glenn took another type of internal potion from the bottles nearby, pulled out the cork, and poured it into his mouth.

So the wound healed again, and the blood fountain stopped.

But Glenn's face had grown even paler.

"Next... this potion is a blood-replenishing potion. You all look like the dark sorcerers extracted quite a bit of your blood. This potion can accelerate your body's blood production rate."

To demonstrate the process from blood loss to blood regeneration, Glenn once again cut open his freshly healed wound.

"Whoosh!"

The magical creatures and Hermione: !!!

"What are you doing?!" Hermione cried out in alarm, rushing over to grab Glenn's spurting wrist. She immediately began casting silent, wandless healing charms, then glanced at the potions Glenn had placed on the ground. With a flick of her hand, she pulled out an internal potion and shoved it into Glenn's mouth, forcing him to drink it.

So Glenn's wound healed yet again.

"Demonstrating potion effects." Glenn pushed out the potion bottle with his tongue, wiped his mouth, and explained matter-of-factly.

"What kind of hardcore method is this? Who uses themselves to demonstrate potion effects?!"

Faced with Hermione's questioning, Glenn calmly replied:

"Snape."

"..."

Hermione slapped her forehead—she'd forgotten about that.

These master and student—why were they exactly the same?!

So infuriating!

"...Anyway, this is wrong. You could just tell them directly. Magical creatures can understand some human language. Here, let me show you how it's done."

With that, Hermione was determined to change Glenn's way of thinking. She picked up a potion Glenn hadn't yet demonstrated to the magical creatures and began explaining it to them.

Little witch Hermione's classroom was now in session~

As it turned out, Hermione was indeed better suited for communicating with small animals. After the little witch finished her explanation, quite a few magical creatures tentatively approached, bit open the potion bottles, and used the potions inside.

Glenn's potions had excellent therapeutic effects.

The results were immediate, and with Hermione nearby, the magical creatures grew bolder, coming forward to use potions suitable for their specific injuries.

Glenn watched coldly from the side.

Honestly, it was a bit hurtful.

However, not all the magical creatures were as leisurely in treating their wounds as most of their companions. Some young magical creatures scampered over to Hermione's side and began making soft, milk-voiced howling sounds. A few impatient little ones even tugged at Hermione's robes with their mouths and pawed at her hem with their claws, trying to pull her in some direction.

Hermione, who was good at understanding both people and beasts, thought for a moment about these little ones' actions before grasping their meaning and turning to look at Glenn.

"There might be more magical creatures imprisoned elsewhere. If I'm not mistaken, they're probably at that blood sacrifice site underground."

"Adult magical creatures would have more vigorous blood than the little ones. If the blood sacrifice requires large amounts of blood, they might be kept underground as the primary blood source. We need to go rescue them too!"

"Fine, I have no objections." Glenn stood up from the ground and began replenishing his equipment.

From what he could see, this dark sorcerers' stronghold had a two-level structure. The upper level had three caves—the formation maintenance devices in the place they'd first been transported to and their current location had already been destroyed by Glenn. Only the device in the cave where Feng Lian had initially been remained undestroyed.

But speaking of which, why hadn't that guy smashed that device when he left his cave?

Could he not have noticed it...

Never mind that for now.

Glenn continued his preparations while thinking.

"The anti-magic formation maintenance devices essentially absorb surrounding magical power to supply whatever's conducting the blood sacrifice underground. But the lower level space itself can't be penetrated by magical power, and enhanced senses don't work either... So is this current inability to mobilize magical power due to the upper level devices, or caused by the underground blood sacrifice..."

After pondering for a moment, Glenn decided to use the process of elimination.

"Let's first destroy the anti-magic formation maintenance device in the cave where Feng Lian was initially transported..."

Before Glenn could finish speaking, the ground suddenly began shaking violently.
