Prologue

March xx,20xx - 01:35 PM

"If humans are given the power of judgment, wouldn't that make us all sinners?"

The words felt less like a question, more like a statement, etched in silence while the man on the asphalt pleaded for forgiveness from the male who held the fate of his life in his hands.

A cold gaze met a trembling, tear-streaked face ,a reflection of human desperation, life balanced precariously between survival and death. Fear, terror, and panic flooded the dying man's eyes before he exhaled his final breath under the weight of the male's hand.

Rain pattered softly, washing the crimson into the cracks of the asphalt.Behind him, sirens screamed.Police shouted. Ushering to put his hands up.

After all,he was a killer. His hand stained by the colour of the crimson. He admit, no amount of words can justify for his actions after all.

The man ignored the shouting noises . Loud he thought. Shutting his eyes , then he felt a ringtone vibration in his coat pocket. Taking out the ringing phone, he glanced at the screen that showed the unknown caller ID.

He answered the call without the slightest hint of hesitation. He lost nothing at that moment .

"How do you feel , Adan Emika?" A distorted voice cackled through the receiver."Will your twin, Eden Emika appreciate it ?" The voice rather amused with the game its planted.

Adan's eyes lingered on the limp body at his feet. The bullies that killed his twins Eden. Yeah, they deserve it . A punishment .

He's not a jury to judge for their mistake , just a man that lives his life by guilt and regret. Sought of vengeance for his sorrow.

He thought of forgiving them...or is he trying to forgive himself?

The sound of the flatline was still fresh in his mind.

The image burned there—the way his twin had laid limp on the hospital bed, pale and still, wires snaking across his body like vines.

Coma, they said. It's a surprise that Eden managed to survive from the height.

For two long years, Adan Emika had waited. Hope.

Until the day the doctor finally gave up and declared his twin brain dead.

That moment never left him.

The memory. The guilt. The regret.

Even after all these years , after everything he did to forget and move on.

it was still there.

Unforgiven.

How can a man live without regrets?

"Shitty," he muttered, his voice devoid of life.

The voice on the other end laughed again, darkly amused.

"Then the deal, do you wish to proceed?"

A pause.

"Yes." Adan Emika answered.

"Welcome, player one" The voice spoke in amusement

Suddenly, the phone flashed with blinding light.

Time fractured.

Rain froze midair.

Shouts suspended.

Everything held in trance.

And then

Adan Emika was gone.

Only the bloodied body remained, as the police stumbled through frozen rain, their eyes scanning wildly, searching for the man who was no longer there.

The deal had been placed.
