While Bill was estimating how much Rans could repair, Ricky ran up to him.
"Look what I found in the captain's cabin!"
Reaching out his hand, Bill looked down at what Ricky handed him. It was an Eternal Log Pose labeled "Water 7."
"That's where the famous shipyard is located, and by my estimates, we should be close enough to tow this wreck and sell it!"
Bill nodded in agreement with this idea and asked, "Do you know if there's a Sailors' base on the island?"
Ricky quickly shook his head, then paused and said, "There definitely isn't one in Water 7, but... I think I remember there's one nearby... uh... hold on."
With that, Ricky ran off again, and Bill didn't stop him, returning to his inspection of the ship.
He examined the crew cabins, which smelled of stale sweat and other odors. There were more valuables here than in the previous haul, which made Bill wonder how widespread pirates were.
Of course, he'd only been at sea for a few months and had seen only two pirate crews, but his journey had been unusual, completely avoiding trade routes.
Going through the pirates' belongings, he found watches, Beli, silverware, silver cups, leather pouches, and other small yet valuable items.
As he dragged a chest out from under a bunk, he heard footsteps again and saw Ricky in the doorway.
"Yes, Sasha said she remembers that there's a Sailors' base not far from Water 7, but she also mentioned that Enies Lobby is closer."
Bill thought he'd heard that name before but asked anyway, "Enies Lobby, the Judicial Island?"
Of course, Bill and the others were educated, but Miss Angie rarely spoke about the World Government, and even when the topic was civil society, she relied on local examples.
When Bill joined the ranks of the Sailors, he didn't have to take any courses on the operations and functions of the organization as a whole—after all, he was in the Scientific Division, and all the information provided was related to research and development.
Despite this, Bill wasn't ignorant about the world at large. He simply focused on the area where he operated, relying on his general knowledge acquired during his time on Earth.
Ricky, on the other hand, was more or less familiar with the exact functions of the fleet and the World Government in general, so to Bill's question, he just nodded and said, "Yes, and there they can pay out any rewards."
Nodding, understanding, Bill put the Eternal Log Pose in his pocket. He was still in his usual blue and white uniform and said, "Alright, sounds like a plan. Keep me informed if you find anything else."
Acknowledging that, Ricky returned to his searches, and Bill headed toward the deck with the cannons.
The ship had fired at them several times and would have even hit them if Bill hadn't deflected the cannonball with his hand.
Even though it hurt, Bill realized that a cannon shot wouldn't kill him, and so he was ready to take that risk, to the surprise of the others.
Looking around, Bill realized that despite the ship's poor condition, the cannons were in perfect shape.
They were a different model from those on Forker's ship, which could explain the additional shots fired during the initial confrontation.
After taking inventory, Bill walked across the entire ship, deck by deck. Sometimes he crossed paths with Sasha, and sometimes with other crew members.
There were no rules requiring half the team to stay on the "Frontier Breakthrough," but the prisoners couldn't be left unsupervised. Listening to footsteps on the ship, Bill guessed that Miyagi stayed on their vessel.
As with the previous catch, Rans immediately began repairing any superficial damage, Fia inspected the storerooms and took the best pots and tableware, Sasha and Ricky searched the arsenal and took everything useful for their journey, and Bill reorganized the documents found in the captain's cabin.
Pirates were a lot of things, but one of their most notable qualities was narcissism. Thanks to this, Bill was able to find three wanted posters and the names of these individuals.
With bounties of 15, 8, and 5 million Beli, these pirates weren't major players on the Grand Line, but even so, the expected profit was almost three times more than from Forker's pirates, whom Bill and the others had captured in the South Blue.
By the end of the day, sitting in his office, Bill listened to Rans' opinion about the pirate brig, and his appraisal amounted to about 1 million Beli, including the cannons and gunpowder.
Standing next to the cowboy, Ricky mentioned that they hadn't searched the entire hold, but for now, they found about 1 million Beli in cash and about 500,000 Beli in other small goods.
This matched what Bill thought, and he didn't complain, considering the three bounties they were going to receive and the Eternal Log Pose, which alone was worth several million Beli.
Saying he understood everything, Bill instructed his two officers to rest.
He was on watch tonight; they were going to raise the sails and head to their destination.
He couldn't wait to see the famous shipyard in Water 7.
"Incredible!"
"Amazing!"
"Wow! Look, Fia!"
Upon seeing the spectacle, Bill agreed with his team's opinion.
From a distance, Water 7 looked even more impressive than Marineford, thanks to its water show.
