The Shedinja strength shouldn't be too overwhelming. But the true purpose of Shedinja isn't to fight on the battlefield.
When Larry first laid eyes on the Shedinja, he was stunned. The second time he saw it, an idea hit him, the best way to use it!
Larry hadn't forgotten one of his abilities fusion. Just like the massive explosion earlier, which happened when Larry fused with the Hydregon. The Shedinja had wonder guard, making it effectively immortal, it couldn't die no matter what.
'So, if I use my mental powers to fuse with Shedinja, wouldn't that mean... I'd become immortal?!
No matter what kind of attack I face, I'm guaranteed to survive! As long as I don't undo the fusion with Shedinja, no one can kill me! My survival ability has skyrocketed!'
It's not just an upgrade, it's a complete transformation to the peak!
'Before, my survival relied mostly on Gardevoir's instant movement, Pokémon's defensive skills, or my own mental defenses, releasing Pokémon to absorb attacks. Even combining all those, none gave me the peace of mind that the solid ghost cicada does.
This is true immortality. Of course, immortality doesn't mean invincibility, others can still trap me. But except for some extreme cases, I'm practically unbeatable.'
With that, Larry's confidence in exploring the Dark Continent soared. From now on, Shedinja would be his permanent equipped Pokémon.
Without hesitation, Larry fused with Shedinja, planning to stay in fusion indefinitely. This is the real use of Shedinja, granting Larry immortality.
One of the two breeding bars had been bred, but the other stalled after advancing only a quarter of the way. The last time Larry saw this was when he bred Gengar. So there must be some conditions to meet.
Suddenly, a hiss broke through his thoughts. The roar of an insect swarm snapped Larry back to reality. The burning flames and the wailing cicada swarm filled his ears, the sounds cutting through like fire and piercing deep into his soul.
Even while being scorched by the flames, Larry could still catch a faint scent of barbecue in the air. He wondered briefly if this devil cicada might be edible. But that thought quickly passed, there was no way the devil cicada altered by the dark sonata could be eaten.
The massive explosion moments ago had unleashed an incredible amount of aura, making its power truly overwhelming. The space in front of the group suddenly cleared, revealing no more dense swarms of cicadas. Instead, there were small mounds, made up of charred devil cicadas.
"This is seriously... too powerful," Knuckle muttered under his breath.
The force behind these cicadas was just as strong as the attackers who had just struck them. They had fought for a long time, using up countless aura, and still only managed to clear just over half of the enemies.
Meanwhile, Larry's fiery attack had wiped out the entire massive group of devil cicadas in one blow. If it weren't for the scorched marks left behind, no one would believe there had been such a huge swarm here moments ago. Among the devil cicadas, only a few kept their original shape; most were reduced to ashes by the explosion.
Knuckle's reaction didn't draw any laughter from the others, they were all equally shaken by Larry's attack.
"That flame... there's no way I could take it." Morel exhaled slowly.
The few survivors had also been hit by Larry's fiery blast and were now nothing but dust. He just needed to let out some steam to ease the tension in his chest.
In his mind, Morel ran through the possibilities and concluded that he simply couldn't withstand that kind of fire. Though he could manipulate white smoke to form a shield, which gave him solid defense under the protection of his mind, he had zero confidence that it would hold up against Larry's attack.
In other words, he wouldn't survive a single strike from Larry. Even though he had prepared himself mentally, realizing this truth still stung.
But then he remembered Larry's title, World's Strongest. Facing the world's strongest made it understandable that he couldn't withstand even one hit. That thought brought Morel some comfort. The girl beside him was equally stunned by the sheer power of Larry's attack, her delicate face full of surprise.
Larry's ability was well known far and wide. He possessed a variety of Nen beasts, each with its own unique power.
Typically, nen users specialized in just one type of ability, like breathing fire, controlling objects, or amplifying their powers. Larry's signature skill was to summon and command Nen beasts, much like others who followed the Nen beasts path.
But there was something different about him... How was he able to unleash fire attacks, which usually fell under the transformation category?
The flames seemed almost tangible, as if they had substance, stirring a storm of curiosity within the girl watching. She sensed that Larry's true strength was far deeper and more complex than what he showed on the surface. No one really knew his real secret.
While others were still stunned, Larry's focus was on the remaining gestation bar. From past experience, he knew he had to keep pushing forward for the bar to progress.
Facing the powerful ghost cicada ahead, he felt even more hopeful about what the next gestation might bring. What kind of pokemon would hatch this time? And what would trigger the bar to move?
With those thoughts in mind, Larry didn't want to waste any more time, he was ready to head straight to the location of the Dark Sonata.
Standing firm, Larry took a deep breath and seemed to blow life into the aura swirling around him. The energy rapidly expanded, forming a massive semicircular barrier that stretched out in every direction. His goal was to pinpoint the exact location of the Dark Sonata.
The majestic flow of aura poured out like a rushing river, steadily enlarging the "En" of perception. After a few moments, a spark lit up in Larry's eyes, and a confident smile curled on his lips, he'd found it.
At the same time, within the range of the "En," Larry noticed a swarm of devil cicadas approaching. Besides the people under control, the music had no effect; the Dark Sonata had to rely on these devil cicadas to carry out its attacks.
So, what now? Just clear a path!
"Hmm? What are you up to?" Morel paused his smoking, surprise flickering across his mature face.
Was Larry planning another attack? Meanwhile, the three-headed dragon floated silently beside him, its fierce heads gathering bright, focused light, ready for whatever came next.
They all stared into the thick gray fog ahead, their attacks ready to be unleashed. In an instant, three pure white beams of light shot forward with incredible power. The ominous aura surrounding the three-headed dragon, combined with these intense beams, made everyone hold their breath, unable to do anything but watch silently.
This was the ultimate move, The Tri Attack . The three beams tore through the gray fog, shattering it and scattering it into the air.
