Chapter 648 - Chapter 865: Bait

Seeing Julian truly join forces with Kyogre to defeat Groudon and force it to retreat—and that Groudon even gave Julian a drop of its own blood before leaving—sent shockwaves through the entire world.

Every Pokémon scholar across the globe was in a frenzy.

The blood of a First-class Legendary, and fresh blood at that—if they could unravel the secrets within that blood, perhaps they could even uncover why First-class Legendaries were so powerful.

As for the leaders of various nations and their Champion-level trainers, they were not only stunned but also filled with fear and apprehension—especially those from several countries led by Celestria.

At this moment, in the conference room of Celestria, the President, along with high-ranking officials and Champion-level trainers, were all present. A large screen was displayed on the wall of the conference room.

These people had just watched the entire scene of Julian teaming up with Kyogre to defeat Groudon.

At first, everyone there had been delighted to see Julian commanding Kyogre. They knew full well the cost of commanding a First-class Legendary like that.

Julian, as the most promising Champion-level trainer in Drakoria—and perhaps in the entire world—posed a greater threat to them than even Drakoria's strongest Champion, Duke.

They had long wished to eliminate him. But now that he had become a Champion, killing him was nearly impossible.

So this seemed like the perfect thing for them: Julian had chosen to command Kyogre. That meant his lifespan would be drained away by it. Even if he didn't die immediately, he wouldn't live much longer.

Julian would soon cease to be a threat.

But as the battle went on, they gradually noticed something strange—Julian wasn't showing any signs of decline. They thought he was simply forcing himself to hold on, but even after the fight was over, his expression remained energetic, his eyes full of vigor. He didn't look like someone whose life force had been drained in the slightest.

"Who can tell me why Julian is perfectly fine even after commanding Kyogre?" the President asked, his face dark and filled with anger.

This was far beyond anything he had expected.

"There are too many mysteries surrounding Julian," said Karl, the nation's strongest Champion. "Perhaps he did pay a price—but it's something we simply can't perceive."

"A price? What price? The way he looks, I'd say he could outlive everyone in this room—and probably our descendants too!"

The president slammed the table, nearly losing his composure. During his term, Drakoria had produced such a monstrous talent, which was the greatest test and blow to his political career.

If things continued like this, he would go down as the shortest-serving president in the nation's history.

Taking a deep breath to calm his emotions, the President continued, "That scale Kyogre gave Julian—what's its purpose?"

"Most likely, it can be used to summon Kyogre," replied a Pokémon scholar.

"In other words, not only can Drakoria now summon Rayquaza, but they can also summon Kyogre. Moreover, Julian might possess the ability to summon and command Kyogre without any side effects. Is that the case here?"

The room instantly fell silent. If nothing unexpected occurred, that was indeed the case.

"Foreign Minister, contact Drakoria immediately to see if we can jointly research Groudon's blood. We can offer the necessary concessions."

The foreign minister nodded.

No one knew why Julian could command Kyogre without side effects—unless Julian himself revealed it, no one would know.

But Groudon's blood was the first sample of a First-class Legendary's blood in the world. Its secrets might let humanity understand Pokémon far more deeply.

"Tell our agents in Drakoria to lie low indefinitely and avoid any actions. We cannot afford to provoke them now," the President sighed heavily.

A Julian who could command a First-class Legendary with little to no side effects was not just a nightmare for Celestria but for all countries.

It could be said that as long as Julian lived, Drakoria—backed by him and Kyogre—would be invincible.

Moreover, Drakoria had already surpassed Celestria in both trainer strength and technological prowess, leaving everyone present feeling utterly helpless.

They were already weaker, and now Drakoria had Kyogre on top of that—what chance did other countries have? There was no other way—they could only continue to curry favor with Drakoria.

Ah, life is hard, sighed Celestria.

While other countries were worrying about how to deal with Drakoria, people inside Drakoria were ecstatic. Nearly every household echoed with exclamations like "Incredible!", "Amazing!", and "Holy—!"

> I hereby declare that Champion Walker is now the most handsome man in the universe. Any objections?

> As the second most handsome man in the universe, I agree. +1

> ...+

> Groudon was really defeated? Am I dreaming?

> I always said my husband is the best in the world. Forget Groudon—even if Dialga showed up, it would kneel!

> Champion Walker looked so cool standing on Kyogre's head!

> Wasn't there someone who said they'd eat shit upside down if Champion Walker defeated Groudon? Where are they? I took a screenshot!

> Kyogre, huh? I really want Champion Walker to ask what flavor bait Kyogre likes.

> Damn, anglers are everywhere!

At Julian's home, Jake was stunned that his son had truly defeated Groudon and muttered under his breath, "Is he really my own flesh and blood?"

Fortunately, Tina didn't hear it—or she would have surely given him a hard slap.

"Love, when Julian comes back this time, we must properly educate him. He managed to win this time, but what about next time? What if something even more dangerous happens?"

Although Tina felt genuinely happy, the worry she had felt earlier still lingered. To prevent anything like this from happening again, she had decided that Julian needed a serious talking-to.

"Dee!"

Love nodded firmly.

'Yes, we must definitely educate him properly... I wonder when the little one will be back—he must be very tired. Should I make some soup first, in case he comes back for dinner tonight?'

Meanwhile, Jake had already called Julian.

"Hello, Dad?"

"Son, do me a favor—ask Kyogre what kind of bait it likes. Live bait or Pokéblocks? Where does it usually hang out? What kind of lure does it prefer, topwater or sinking?"

Listening to the voice on the phone, Julian's face darkened. Sure enough, this was his real father—he hadn't called to ask about his safety at all, but to find out what kind of bait Kyogre liked.

What, did he really plan to fish it up?

He hung up the phone directly.

Julian, of course, wouldn't dare ask Kyogre such things—if he did, Kyogre might actually turn against him.

It was a First-class Legendary, after all. To think someone wanted to fish it up—what utter disrespect.

Then again, every angler's greatest dream was to catch Kyogre.

"He hung up… this unfilial brat!"

Jake stared blankly at his phone, both annoyed and deflated.

If he never managed to catch Kyogre in this lifetime, it would definitely be Julian's fault—who told him not to cooperate!

Unbeknownst to Julian, after he left, many anglers sailed boats or rode Water-type Pokémon to the place where Kyogre and Groudon had fought.

All of them were hoping to encounter Kyogre again—and somehow, miraculously, reel it in.
