Looking at the photos related to Julian, the road bike, and the boar-head mask, Leo and his girlfriend Nina were beyond thrilled. They never expected that the random café they walked into was actually opened by Champion Walker.
"Woof~"
Over there, Poochyena was already urging the two to hurry up and place their order. If they wanted to look around, they could do so slowly after ordering.
Looking at the menu on the table, there were coffees, juices, teas, and various desserts—quite a variety. However, coffee was the main focus, so there were more options for coffee.
The prices weren't very high either, roughly around twenty to thirty per cup. Compared to other nearby cafés, the prices here were quite affordable.
Slowking: 'Because we don't have to pay rent.'
They each ordered a cup of coffee. After telling Poochyena, it immediately barked a few times toward the two Slowking.
"Slow~"
Slowking nodded, then looked at the other Slowking, signaling for it to prepare the order.
These two were the very first customers on their opening day—definitely worth commemorating.
So Slowking took out its phone and walked over to the two of them.
"It's Champion Walker's Slowking! This confirms that the café is definitely opened by Champion Walker!"
Leo said excitedly, looking at Slowking walking over.
Slowking: 'Actually, this café is opened by me.'
Under Leo's and Nina's somewhat bewildered gazes, Slowking handed each of them a packet of walnuts, then took out its phone and gestured.
Leo still didn't understand what Slowking was trying to express, but Nina seemed to get it and tentatively said, "Do you want to take a photo with us?"
"Slow~"
Slowking nodded.
The two were, of course, delighted, but Leo was a bit puzzled and asked, "Why do you want to take a photo with us?"
"Slow~"
Slowking: "Because you're the first customers."
Of course, the two didn't understand what it meant, but soon, translator Julian arrived.
"Slowking said that because you're the first customers on opening day, it wants to take a photo as a keepsake."
Julian's voice sounded from the stairway.
"Champion Walker!"
The two of them looked at Julian coming down from the second floor with immense surprise.
They hadn't expected Julian to be in the café as well.
"Hello."
Walking over to the two, Julian nodded with a smile.
Today was an absolute win. Nina asked expectantly, "Champion Walker, can I take a photo with you?"
"Me too," Leo hurriedly added.
"Sure—why don't both of you come together," Julian nodded.
Leo and Nina immediately stepped in front of Julian, while Slowking held up the phone.
Suddenly, Nina whispered, "Leo, get ready to use that."
Hearing that, Leo's face stiffened slightly, but meeting his girlfriend's gaze, he could only nod in agreement.
Julian was a bit confused—use that? Use what? Some special pose for the photo?
"Slow~"
Slowking raised three fingers and began counting down.
As the last finger dropped, the two standing straight in front of Julian suddenly leaned in for a kiss.
Julian looked on in utter bewilderment.
Click!
The moment was captured forever.
"Champion Walker, it was just a spontaneous moment, really!" Leo explained sheepishly, noticing Julian's darkened expression.
In contrast, Nina beside him giggled mischievously. "Champion Walker, your expression doesn't look so good. Did we shock you?"
'Should I just... never mind.'
Julian felt utterly exasperated. He had just been force-fed a mouthful of "dog food," and so unexpectedly at that.
Looking at the beaming woman before him, Julian turned to the young man beside her with a serious expression. "How about you break up with her? I'll introduce you to someone better."
"Fair-skinned, beautiful, long legs, comes from a wealthy family, and she'd actually listen to you. How does that sound?"
Hearing that, Leo's face turned pale with fright. He waved his hands frantically. "Champion Walker, we've never had any grievances! Please don't try to ruin my life!"
"Champion Walker, you're so petty! Can't even take a little joke."
Nina said with a mix of feigned annoyance and amusement; teasing her boyfriend like this was a bit too much.
"Just kidding," Julian shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips.
Just then, Slowking finished preparing the two cups of coffee, and a Slowpoke carried them over to the couple.
"Give it a try," Julian said, gesturing toward the coffee.
The rich aroma drifting from the cups shifted the couple's attention away from Julian.
"This smells incredible! Even better than any coffee I've had before," Leo remarked, his eyes lighting up.
As a coffee enthusiast with some knowledge on the subject, he could tell just from the scent that Slowking's brew surpassed anything he had ever had before.
"So good!"
While Leo was still savoring the aroma, Nina had already taken a light sip.
She wasn't as knowledgeable about coffee as Leo. Her love for coffee stemmed more from the ambiance of coffee shops, but the flavor of this brew truly delighted her.
"Mhm, the taste is really excellent—rich in aroma, smooth and well-balanced. It's definitely better than what I've had before," Leo offered a highly positive review.
After all, this Slowking had been personally trained by Julian's Slowking and had already mastered about half of Slowking's skills in coffee making. This level of expertise would undoubtedly rank Slowking among the top-tier baristas in the outside world.
And top-tier baristas were rare, and judging by Leo's attire, his family background seemed quite ordinary. Even though he enjoyed coffee, he likely hadn't had many opportunities to taste truly exceptional brews, let alone those of the highest caliber.
This Slowking had also passed Slowking's final assessment and could be considered a graduate. Otherwise, Slowking would never have allowed it to make coffee for customers.
If the coffee turned out poorly, it would be Slowking, the teacher, who would lose face.
During the time it had been learning to make coffee, this Slowking had no idea how many packs of walnuts it had consumed.
The gap between humans could be vast.
Naturally, the gap between Pokémon could be just as significant.
"Champion Walker, can I share the photo?"
Nina looked at Julian expectantly.
Having taken a photo with Julian, not sharing it would truly feel unbearable. If she didn't let her close friends and besties see it, half the meaning of taking the photo would instantly vanish.
"Sure, it might even help bring more business to the shop," Julian said with a smile.
The shop was filled with items related to him. Even if Nina didn't share the photo, future customers would definitely notice.
From the moment this shop was connected to him, it was destined to become popular. Moreover, Slowking's coffee tasted exceptionally good.
After hearing Julian agree, Nina immediately posted the photo with him on all her social media platforms. At this moment, she even regretted not having more apps installed.
Not being able to make more people envy her felt like her greatest failure.
Beside her, Leo was doing the same thing—he wanted his bros to be green with envy too.
