3rd Person POV -
They took a seat in there. Sir Morgan ordered coffee for everyone. Seeing they are in the booth alone with no one listening. Steve said,'' Sir Morgan even you are aware with the gravity of the situation. It is not just about the Soldiers. It also concerns the life of thousands of innocent peoples and children in that village. We just can not abandon them. We have to do something. ''
Sir morgan was also listening to Steve with abrupt attention. He did not stop him when he was talking neither he interjected. After Steve was done speaking Sir morgan looked towards Diana to see if she has something to say but she was just sitting and listening them to talk with each other.
Sir Morgan was quite uncomfortable with the way she is looking at him like she is uncovering something. Trying to find something that was hidden under the veil.
In reality Diana was feeling something she can not explain about this man. He felt dangerous to her but she can not pinpoint how. She have no idea why she is feeling this but from all her training she has learned never to underestimate her intuition.
After seeing that Diana has no intention of talking Sir Morgan said,''I am well aware of your condition and I also think what you are saying is right but you have also heard the orders. You can not go against them because if you do then you can be court marshalled. You will be let go of the army with dishonorably discharged. So I don't think there is any option for you.''
Steve remain absolute on his point. He said, '' I do not care of being any of those things. I can not have my medals on the dead body of thousands of people. It's just that I do not have any way of going there. If I had I would have left a long ago.''
Sir Patrick Morgan furrowed his eye browse. He asked,'' Are you saying that you are going to disobey your orders. That is crazy. You have such a bright future in front of you. My sources from the ministries are saying that you are being consider for a promotion and even an award and here you are saying that you will disobey a direct order. If you did something like this then forget about the award or promotion it will be end of your carrier. ''
Steve said,'' like I said I do not care about all this things. What I want is to find a way to go there. ''
Sir patrick Morgan said,'' And what about the other Soldiers. You possibly do not think that you will go there alone and can defeat everyone and save everyone. ''
Steve said,'' You do not worry about that. I have some people who will be ready to go there with me.''
There was a tense silence on the table after sometime Sir Morgan sighed in defeat and said,'' When you will have your people ready contact me. I might have a way to help you in your other problems.''
Steve who was visibly excited said,'' Thank you Sir. Thank you really much.''
Sir Morgan shook his head and said, '' No It should be I who must Thank you. You are sacrificing much for this thing. It is you who are going to risk his life to save many lives. So Thank You Captain Steve Trevor.''
After that They have there coffee. Sir Morgan turned towards Diana and said, '' You are not saying anything. Don't you have some insight to share? Neither did you tried to stop Steve from going in such a dangerous mission?''
Diana said,'' Why would I stop him? After all I am going with him.''
Sir Morgan was very much surprised after hearing this. He said, '' Really? ''
Diana affirmed with a nod of his head and said, '' Yes.''
He replied,'' You are quite brave for going in such a dangerous mission but on the second thought I should be aware of your braveness. Nobody I mean Nobody ever dared to call a general coward in his own metting. Especially in front of his subordinates. Even I was surprised by this. ''
Diana said,'' I was merely speaking the truth.''
Sir Morgan said,'' And that is one of the hardest things to do.''
After having there drinks they all left to do there things. Diana who was walking with Steve asked,'' Who are peoples you were talking about? ''
Steve chuckled and said, '' Some old friends. I trust them with my life.''
Diana said,'' Good friends are the virtue that only some have.''
Steve was well aware of the truth in those words. After that he went to find his friends. On the way Diana said,'' Before anything else I have to get my sword.''
Steve said,'' Alright. My secretary should be in my office. And it is not very far from here. So let's go.''
Then they went towards the office to retrieve the sword. Etta was there. Seeing them enter she asked,'' What happened? What did the officials said. ''
Previously Steve has not told her anything about the Diary or the poison since it was confidential but Etta who was working for Steve for a very long time understood that something was wrong but she refrained from asking.
But now that the meeting has been completed she can not control herself and asked him about the meeting. Steve also did not tried to hide anything from her so he told her everything from start to end.
After listening that the seniors are not going to do anything Etta was very angry. She cursed the superiors for some time. Then Diana asked her about the sword. Because she cannot see it anywhere.
After retrieving the sword Diana asked,'' Is it necessary for me to go there? ''
Steve said,'' Actually no. If you want to stay then stay here. ''
Diana said, '' Thank you. I have been meeting with too many new people so I want to be alone for some time.''
Steve nodded his head and then left to meet his friends.
