Chapter 19 - Going Down

Director Xavier received a report about unusual movement in Silent Hill, where the next test event is to be held. Monsters were being discovered in the area again, so they need to secure it before moving the candidates there.

"I'm going there myself to check," he said. Then he called the superintendent of the academy. "I want you to gather all the students and bring them to Silent Hill immediately. I will see you there," the director commanded.

"All the students of the Heroes Academy, something happened in Silent Hill; we will go and investigate that place. Come together immediately. This is an emergency!" said the superintendent.

Two large roto-flying ships were hovering in the skies as the superintendent was waiting for all the students to come. In the body of its ship marks, HEROES ACADEMY. The components are the same as that flying-roto-taxi; it's only a hundred times bigger and can carry thousands of passengers. As soon as all the students have flown inside the ship, it sets off immediately. It just takes a couple of minutes since all the students are already gathered at the Ladder of Fortitude site. Now, a few live audiences are left, composed of faculty and some rank S heroes remaining.

"Don't be distracted; as you can see, we had an emergency situation, but the heroes and the students will be there to take it down as soon as possible. Let us see what is going to happen in this test, as Tundra is about to approach Stickman at the thirteenth step. Oh, let me see the records of the durability test first.

Oh, Stickman got 50 percent while Tundra has 73.8 percent durability. Oh no, Stickman is doomed! It's number 9 versus number 6 in durability. He's getting closer!"narrated by Fatty Cook of Medicine.

Everyone was surprised as Tundra was going to attack Stickman; he received a kick instead, and that was coming from Stickman, sending him back to the twelfth step. Tundra did not bother him since he has been overwhelmed by his inner demon; he just smiled and rushed back, zooming towards Stickman and electrocuting him. But Stickman was immune to electricity, so he kicked him again, and he plunged down to the 11th step, rolling like a ball and lying there unconscious.

"What the hell!" Caterpillar said. He did not expect that result, being number 9 in durability, beating number 6. He is a fresh graduate hero and a batchmate of Bubbles Up and Horseman. He is a mutated human with 6 arms and was sponsored by the Insect God.

Stickman is so thin, and his bone is almost sticking out from his skin. He even looks like a walking bone because of this. No one would think he would join the Heroes Academy, and people will misjudge him as unhealthy, but he has shown his strength today. His face almost looks like a skull and can't be recognized as a living person at one glance. Children would fear him at night for sure. He is dressed well, only that they are lousy for him, even his pants.

Heroes and faculties that were watching were wondering what his true ability was and why he was immune to electricity.

Now, stickman continues to walk through the 14th step. Vanessa was seen stepping into the tenth step, and at that moment, instead of facing her inner demon harder, it became easy, and she quickly recovered her subconscious, and now she is running all the way to the top as many candidates are rampaging in steps 10 to 13.

Dynamu, the top candidate for strength, just zooms to the fifteenth step and pummels down, stickman, knocking him out of his way.

Viewers did not expect that to happen as Stickman had just bitten the sixth rank in durability.

"Many things are happening right now. People keep your eyes open for this event as we are reaching the apex. We didn't expect that Stickman who had just defeated Tundra be defeated in one strike by the candidate Dynamo. Who is Dynamo? Maybe you don't know him, so I'll tell. In the Durability test, he is the top in strength. He almost completely destroyed the puppet with a 95 percent destructive power, but then a three times of his own strength, he can't hold his own power and strength so his durability was low and not even in the top 100 in the Durability test. Now about his speed It's more unbelievable. Now he zooms again looks like his going for Damon. I think he will going to pummel this man down too. Let us wait and see" Narrated the emcee.

Dynamo zooms again. His feet appeared to have something like a jetstream as he zooms through the ladder. And then he is now at the 20th step. Damon at 24th, Dina-might at 30th step. Null at 49th, and Fox Slayer at the top 1 in the 53rd step.

"What? What are you doing? Where are you going?" shouted Fox Slayer as she turned around and saw Null going down instead of going up.

"Idiot, what are you doing? Are you going to face that strongman?"

Horseman was wondering why Null was going down. "What is he doing again?" The Dean couldn't help being curious.

"Oh, this one guy is truly unprecedented; look at him going down instead of going up, and it's the third day," sighed the Fatty Cook.

"What an idiot," muttered Caterpillar.

When Null decided to move to the lower steps, at first the chains appeared and a wall, but when he tried to force his way in, they were gone and let him do what he wanted. Null is now at the 45th step since it's much faster going down running than climbing up. Soon he will meet Dina-might.

Dynamu was speeding up and was trying to catch up with Damon. He is like this because he is controlled by his inner demon. Damon realized that this Dynamo had gotten his attention, so he sped up with all his might.

"Damon now is at the 26th step, Dina is at the 33rd step, and Fox Slayer is slowly moving upward at the 53rd step while Null is going down at a fast speed at the 40th step. Dynamu is at the 25th step now and is going to reach Damon anytime," the Fatty Cook narrated to the audience.

Soon, it was already dark. The moon was shining in the sky as the test continued. Dynamo, after chasing Damon, had finally reached the 32nd step. It was a long chase, though, since Damon climbs faster as he knows he is being targeted. Dina is at the 36th step and Null at the 37th step, and he is going to meet her soon.

At a cave in the Heavens Realm, an old blind man with rugged clothes looking like a vagabond was sitting, and then he plucked off his right eye and put it on the mat. Its eye on the mat grows bigger and bigger till it is at the size of a basketball. It gives off a brilliant light, and it was magnificent. This man is famously known by the name 'the God of the Blind.'.

"Show me the world of the mortals, the country of Japan, the place called Heroes Academy, at the site where the Ladder of Fortitude is," he commanded the eye, and it did what he said.

"Show me their illusions and hidden ability as well, the God of the Blind ordered. He can't believe what he sees. He was so surprised.

"Oh Lord Alpha Omega, I know you would be glad if you could see what I see. Too bad I can't help him, but it's me, not only me but us who need his help that bad, since everything has changed since you left. I just pray he grows up quickly and is safe," prayed the God of the Blind.

Null and Dina might pass at each other. "How was my gift? Did you like it? Those were the only words said by Null as he passed on to Dina that made her stunned by those questions as Null continued to go down. She stopped walking and thought of those words.

"Gift, he gave me a gift. Who was he, and what is the gift? What was really his real name then?" she asked herself as she continued to go upward.

She remembered Geo giving her a gift on the night before they were to choose a hero name and a mask, but she didn't know what gift Geo gave her until she had this divine artifact, which she did not know who was the person that gave her these precious things.

"It can't be Geo. He is not a god after all. It's impossible." She chose not to believe her own thoughts, even if the God of Fate had told her everything.

"Why do you have this divine artifact? If you didn't have this artifact, I would not dare to intervene in your test even if you fell into shame. Tell me, where did you get this artifact of mine? That was the question asked of her by the God of Fate when she underwent the process of giantification.

"I really don't know; I wake up, and I have it, just like that," Dina-might answered.

"To tell you the truth, I had given this artifact to a man because he was pitiful. That man was the hero you knew in legends who killed himself for killing his beloved woman and a friend. But since it is fate and he entrusted my things to you, I leave it to you then. I form a contract with you, and I will become your sponsor since I can feel that your heart is pure and this is our fate, so let it be," said the God of Fate, and she made a contract with Dina-might.

"This is absurd. I can't remember her name at all. I don't even know the gender of my sponsor or even the artifact. I didn't even know its name. How can I summon it? cried Dina-might.

"Why? Did Sir Memo-rise do something to Dina-might? asks Caterpillar.

"Aha, bro, you were late," answered Horseman.

"What, bro? Didn't you see I'm a woman? She goes on to let him see her six breasts.

"Ok, sis, I'm fine. I believe," he answered.

"I'm late; then what happened to that freak? "Caterpillar asked.

"Bubbles Up transformed into a beauty with the strength comparable to an SSS class hero and beat that freak, knocking him out in one hit," Horseman explained.

"So it's not Memo-rise, it's the Gods, the ones that can make you forget everything," Caterpillar guessed.

"I know it, but I can't remember his name," said Horseman.

"I don't know about him either, and it hurts my head trying to think of that name, and it makes me feel drowsy and sick," said Caterpillar as she collapsed to the ground with eyes rolling around.

"Oi, what happened to you? I never told you yet how beautiful, sexy, and hot Bubbles was up in her form," cried Horseman.

"And don't force yourself to remember what the Gods want you to forget," Horseman added.

"Back at the Ladder tonight, Dina-might and Null passed each other as Dina-might was going up and Null was going down and going to pass the two candidates, Dynamo and Damon, who are about to start a duel," narrated Fatty Cook.

Dynamo thought Damon would face him head-on, but then he suddenly ran away again to the upper steps. Midnight comes, and Null continues to go down at the 35th step, and Dynamo is chasing after Damon at the 34th step.

Then the final moment has come as three of them collide with each other face to face at the 34th step. Null is facing Dynamo, who is facing Damon, who is facing Null.

"I'm not included; I'm just going down. I'm not going up anyway, so can you excuse me?" Null bidding them farewell.
