Chapter 129 - Training? More Like a One-Sided Beatdown

This wasn't Nick Fury speaking nonsense—after all, in their line of work, especially at his level, he knew more secrets than most people could imagine. And once those secrets were revealed, they could easily cause societal upheaval.

"Mm, Director Nick Fury, you're overthinking it. Miku Izayoi might be able to control others, but her power is limited to control. She can't read people's minds."

Tohka said this just to reassure him.

Whether Miku could or couldn't, she hadn't asked.

But at least Miku wasn't as casually omniscient as Professor Charles.

"I understand. Just don't let me see a repeat of that mess in New York."

With that, Nick Fury handed them over to Coulson.

He didn't want to stay even one more second in front of Miku Izayoi.

Honestly, if it weren't for the way Tohka had clearly shown she'd fight to the death if he tried to detain Miku,

He actually would have preferred to lock her up.

There's no helping it—anyone with secrets in their heart would feel uneasy standing in front of someone like her.

"So, how about it—do any of you want to spar with Miku Izayoi here by my side?"

Once they followed Coulson into the so-called combat training room, Tohka pointed to Miku with amusement.

"No."

"Please don't do that."

Even Coulson joined in to stop her, and everyone looked at Tohka with lingering fear.

"I didn't see you guys on the helicarrier that night, but I did run into you while fighting the Graviton. So… don't tell me…"

Tohka trailed off, then smirked and said, "I remember Nick Fury ordered an investigation. Don't tell me you all got mind-controlled?"

"..."

Okay, now everyone started looking away awkwardly.

Obviously, Tohka had hit the nail on the head.

No one liked to admit they'd been controlled.

"Who knew Miss Miku Izayoi's power was totally different from Professor Charles'? Nothing we brought worked."

Coulson looked shaken as he recalled the experience.

Fortunately, Miku's nature wasn't bad—

She didn't make them do anything against their morals.

In fact, she didn't make them do anything at all.

So, while they still felt uneasy around her, there wasn't any resentment.

"Okay, I get it. Then let's do this."

As she spoke, Tohka donned her Astral Dress once more.

Her massive sword appeared in her hand.

"Wow, so pretty."

Even though she'd seen it before, Miku Izayoi was once again captivated by the dashing, elegant Tohka.

Still, she always wanted to complain about one thing:

Tohka only gave off that cool, noble vibe when she was in this gear.

Was her Astral Dress secretly an external brain circuit?

"Stop, stop! Miss Tohka, we didn't mean for you to train like that."

Coulson panicked and hurried to stop her.

"Mm? Why? Aren't I supposed to be their sparring partner? Why can't I use my powers then?"

Tohka looked puzzled.

She didn't understand what the issue was.

"I remember Tony gave you some armor, didn't he? Use that. And do you really think this helicarrier can withstand your attacks? If you wreck this place, can you afford to pay for it?" Coulson hastily explained.

He knew exactly how powerful her sword was.

If she used that thing here, it wouldn't be training—it'd be demolition.

"Tch, you guys are such low-level noobs." Tohka rolled her eyes, retracted her Astral Dress, and put on the armor Tony had made for her.

Then she flew up into the air—

And…

"Alright, alright, it's getting late, I'm heading back now."

She glanced at the group of people she had just blown up and said calmly.

Except for Spider-Man, who survived thanks to his spider-sense, everyone else was flat on the ground.

Even Peter was panting heavily.

"Miss Tohka, can't you go easier on us next time?"

Coulson came in looking at the scorched and wrecked training room with a pained expression.

Not that he was surprised—he knew even if Tohka used Tony's armor, the others wouldn't stand a chance.

"This is totally cheating! Who fights like that? You've got a shield none of us can break, and you just keep attacking us like we're target dummies!"

The guy with the bucket helmet was too injured to fly now.

He'd been full of trash talk and over-the-top antics, so Tohka had given him special attention.

Now he was completely covered in soot—

Apparently, Tohka hadn't just blasted him, she'd set him on fire too.

"Isn't this the result you wanted? Don't blame me because you are weak." Tohka shrugged righteously and left the room with Miku Izayoi.

She didn't bother checking on the others. Her hits weren't lethal—just a few days of rest would be enough.

With a perfectly straight face, she said, "I'm training you. Training your ability to take a beating."

"..."

The room fell silent as they stared at Tohka, who was being so upright about it.

But soon, someone broke the silence.

"What kind of damage-resistance training is this?! You just used us as punching bags. Isn't this young lady just blowing off steam?"

Even Spider-Man had wisely stayed quiet, but the guy with the bucket helmet just had to speak up again.

He'd mouthed off the whole time and got the worst of it.

And yet… he still didn't know when to shut up.

"What kind of resistance training? You're just acting like a spoiled princess again. Come on, admit it—you fell for someone and got dumped, didn't you…?"

"..."

This time, even Coulson and the others covered their eyes.

They couldn't bear to watch.

Was this guy trying to die?

"WAAAHHHH—"

Before Tohka could even respond, Miku Izayoi lashed out with a sonic blast.

She could tell these people weren't normal.

They could take a hit, so she didn't hold back either.

"AHHH, WHAT IS THIS?!"

BOOM.

"Looks like repair costs just went up again."

Coulson said calmly as he looked at the poor soul now embedded in the wall, pulling out his tablet and tapping on the screen.
