Volume 2 Chapter 84: Kaiser Ghidorah vs. Godzilla (Part 2)

Amidst the curtain of rain, another figure emerged, cutting through the darkness with a beam of light.

Under this light, a colossal beast, weighing millions of tons, descended from the sky.

Carrying intense heat and steam, it crashed down among the mountains.

Boom!

The earth cracked apart. The once ten Ghidorah's Wings now had only nine. The light had obliterated one.

And the being that had unleashed that light now stood tall within the rain.

It was heavier than mountains, more ancient than civilization, and more majestic than anything else in this world.

A jet-black behemoth strode out from the ocean.

With each thunderous step, the ground trembled. It stood in contrast to the burning sun dozens of kilometers away, its two deep-blue eyes locked onto the golden-scaled and steel-clad entity before it.

For the first time since its birth on this planet, Kaiser Ghidorah assumed a defensive stance. It descended from the sky, shattering several kilometers of land upon impact.

It, too, stared at the pitch-black figure. The nine Ghidorah's Wings surrounding it roared in unison, as if trying to communicate something.

The two colossal titans stood tens of kilometers apart, locked in an unyielding standoff.

Every observer could sense the sparks of hostility igniting between them.

The howling winds, torrential rain, and crackling lightning struck their towering forms, illuminating them in brief flashes.

One of them required no introduction—it was the terrifying Kaiser Ghidorah, the very being that had nearly driven everyone to despair.

And the other…

"What… what is that?"

"I know! It's… it's Godzilla!"

"Yeah! That's Godzilla! But it's way bigger than what we've seen on TV!"

"It's definitely Godzilla! No doubt about it!"

Within the shelters, people caught a fleeting glimpse of the titan through the storm's illumination and confirmed its identity.

Yes, it was Godzilla—the very monster that had once devastated the Far East and plunged human civilization into the Age of Monster!

But why was it here? Hadn't the news reported that it was trapped? Wasn't it supposed to be unable to escape?

What was it doing here now?

Their minds filled with questions.

But soon, they abandoned those thoughts.

There was no point in questioning it anymore. It didn't matter why Godzilla was here, how it had escaped, or why it was now far larger than anything ever recorded.

None of that mattered.

The only thing that mattered now was that—the Ghidorah's Wings looming before them!

Now, Godzilla was facing off against them. Their hostility toward each other was so intense that even ordinary humans could perceive it.

That was enough.

If they were enemies of each other, then that meant—Godzilla was on their side!

So, go for it, Godzilla!

"You have to win… Godzilla…"

Someone murmured, their voice barely audible.

Yet they themselves had forgotten—if Godzilla won, it could very well take over Ghidorah's mission and continue to lay waste to East Asia.

Godzilla and Kaiser Ghidorah stood 30 kilometers apart, locked in a tense confrontation amid the torrential downpour and typhoon winds.

The two most powerful creatures ever to exist on this planet sized each other up, calculating their respective strengths.

Standing firm against the storm, Godzilla analyzed its opponent using its Earth-Wide Radar.

90 million tons in weight.

A maximum energy output surpassing its own in standard combat.

A body covered in highly conductive scales.

The ability to generate an immensely powerful electromagnetic field through short-range, high-voltage electric discharges.

And in the sky, nine remaining Ghidorah's Wings stood on guard, ready to strike at any moment.

What a hassle.

Humanity really had found it quite the formidable opponent.

Godzilla's gaze remained fixed on its adversary. Inside its body, its nuclear fusion core ramped up its energy output, and its legs gathered power.

Now, it was certain.

Kaiser Ghidorah—this would be the strongest opponent it had ever faced in its entire existence.

It was likely even stronger than Godzilla itself.

So for this first battle, it had to go all out!

Both feet struck the ground with explosive force, sending shockwaves through the land beneath. Millions of tons of weight shattered the earth as Godzilla began its charge.

Through the stormy mountain ranges, its 500-meter-tall body moved at supersonic speed. Like an ancient, mobile mountain, it sprinted toward Kaiser Ghidorah at hypervelocity.

For the first time, the nine Ghidorah's Wings surrounding Kaiser Ghidorah launched an attack.

Nine beams of terawatt-level energy streaked toward the oncoming Godzilla.

The sheer intensity of the beams vaporized the surrounding raindrops, filling the air with a thick, steaming mist.

Within the mist, the nine beams struck Godzilla.

But as a counterattack, Godzilla lifted its head and fired into the sky.

—I didn't come here unprepared.

A beam of energy, far surpassing the power of the Ghidorah's Wings' lasers, erupted from the mist, piercing through the dark clouds, tearing through the heavens—

—and obliterating one of the airborne Ghidorah's Wings!

Without pausing, Godzilla gathered strength in its legs and leaped.

Millions of tons of mass soared over a kilometer into the sky.

From its maw, nuclear breath burst forth—

—a beam containing thousands of times the energy of the Ghidorah's Wings' attacks.

The beam struck another Ghidorah Wing.

But this time, it didn't just pierce through. It exploded.

Megaton-level energy blasted through the creature's outer shell, detonating within its body.

The million-ton Ghidorah Wing lasted less than a second before an unprecedented fireball consumed it.

Then—its body erupted. Flames spewed from every opening in its form, its insides completely incinerated. It transformed into a massive fireball spanning several kilometers.

The fireball burned brighter than the sun.

Fortunately, the thick storm clouds and rain absorbed much of the thermal radiation, preventing the people watching from dozens of kilometers away from being completely blinded.

Godzilla descended from the sky, preparing its railgun-like breath attack.

Three down.

Now, it would take out the fourth.

But it was stopped.

Kaiser Ghidorah, which had remained motionless until now, suddenly acted.

From the tips of its wings—

Dozens, no, hundreds of lightning bolts erupted.

Each individual bolt possessed enough energy to pulverize a mountain.

And now, over a hundred of them struck Godzilla simultaneously.

It was blasted out of the sky.

BOOM!

Another mountain ridge collapsed as Godzilla crashed into the earth.

As it used its tail and arms to right itself, it saw—

Kaiser Ghidorah was flying again.

And it was charging straight at Godzilla!

90 million tons.

Mach 2 speed.

It hadn't reached its full acceleration yet due to the distance, but even with its current mass and velocity, the incoming attack was terrifying.

Godzilla's feet dug into the ground.

Its tail braced against a mountain peak.

Its arms crossed in front of its chest.

It did not flee.

It chose to face the impact head-on.

BOOOOM!!!!

A shockwave erupted, clearing the rain for kilometers around.

In the aftermath, the mountain behind Godzilla had collapsed completely.

Kaiser Ghidorah's three heads pressed against Godzilla, continuing to push forward at supersonic speed!

Both titans were locked in an earth-shattering clash.

Kaiser Ghidorah drove into Godzilla—while Godzilla gripped two of Kaiser Ghidorah's heads with its massive hands.

The third head, however, had latched onto Godzilla's shoulder, biting down.

But Godzilla refused to yield.

It bit down directly onto the neck of the head that had attacked it.

At that moment—

From Kaiser Ghidorah's body—

Lightning erupted.
