The fall stretched on longer than anything reasonable should have, dark and featureless and endless, until a single point of light finally bloomed somewhere far below, small at first, then rushing up to meet all three of them at once. Jin had long since stopped trying to orient himself in the rushing black, letting the fall simply carry him, some tired, distant part of his mind noting that this was, at minimum, the second time tonight the ground had disappeared out from under him entirely.
Jin braced instinctively, expecting impact, and instead found himself simply floating, suspended in place within a wide, glowing sphere of golden light, Areum and Do-yun hovering nearby in similar, motionless drift, both of them looking as disoriented as he felt.
