The sun was sitting low over the forest when Jin reached the gate.
The others were already there. Hyunwoo had a bag on his back that looked twice as heavy as anyone else's. Kyung-min was sitting on a crate, bouncing one knee. Yuna stood beside Yerin with her hands in her jacket pockets, and Yerin was quietly checking the straps on her own bag for what looked like the third time.
A small crowd had come to see them off. Seul, Joon, and Echo stood by the wall. A few of the captains hung around behind them. Ryu was nowhere to be seen, but every so often a dull clang drifted over from the forest.
"Everyone ready?" Jin asked.
"Been ready," Yuna said.
Jin turned to Yerin. "Before we go, I need to ask. Do you have any doors that could get us closer? Anywhere south at all?"
Yerin finished with her strap and looked up.
"Nothing near Andong," she said. "I've never been anywhere close to it."
"That's what I thought."
