"Hospital? With Prof. Stephens?" William's voice erupted as he got up from the couch at once.
Up until that point, just like last night, Myra and Wendy were thinking that she and Fabian were at the hospital for Jacob, but Yelena's grim tone said otherwise. Myra walked straight towards her friend and supported her while the latter told them the story. Of course, not the full fledged tale, but with lots of omissions and editing.
With each word that she uttered, the Miracles kept losing shade off their faces, going from pale to paler to colourless.
"Why didn't you call and tell us about it?" William questioned.
"My phone got wrecked, but I did give Wendy a call last night," Yelena said, her voice filled with exhaustion.
"I thought you were there because of Chairman Larson," Wendy said, her voice faded at the end, feeling guilty.
"Sorry~ …. I didn't get to tell you that. Other guardians were lining up, so I had to cut it short," Yelena apologized.
